Weather warnings for Sunday

Nasty low developing overnight tomorrow, giving some difficult conditions over Sunday for the southern half of England.

met office warnings which they say may be upgraded ( and I think they will looking at the models)

Unusually the storm will be moving from east to west with winds being north easterly- Easterly (again, relatively unusual) gusting to over 50 mph in the sw. Very heavy rain will be associated with this with high totals. Flooding is likely in places.

Please pay attention to latest met office earnings and if you are in a flood zone, the environment agency. Not a day to be out on the moors.

Will update tomorrow.

gorgeous here in Lancashire too also for a change, Angelico!

Saltire · 28/04/2012 19:15

Well I am defintely starting work on ym Ark. I live in North Yorks and it's rained every single day for more than a week now

blondieminx · 28/04/2012 19:21

Saltire here in the supposedly sunny south east it's rained every sodding day for the last fortnight!

Marne · 28/04/2012 20:12

Very windy here in the SW, i wonder what damage there will be to my garden (already lost fence and green house last week), just hope it doesn't rain too much (have had enough), flood warnings seem to have been lifted but not so sure as it flooded a few days ago so it wont take much for it to come back up.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 28/04/2012 20:21

I'm fairly certain there will be trees down. Good job it's Sunday tomorrow really to ease travel issues.

I am Officially Alarmed, though more by Monday's forecast than Sunday's. It looks like the wind is veering south easterly on Sunday night and Monday morning. SE are always very bad news for the south of Cornwall, particularly boat owners! I'm not going to sleep on Sunday night. We have already had one storm surge this week, and the height of the SEly is going to coincide with high tide.

Stay off promenades, harbour walls and piers everyone!

ViewsOfTheDowns · 28/04/2012 21:12

Brighton here, fairly high up. Roof of the shed has had the felt ripped off. Wind is howling down the chimney so loud we had to turn up the cd player! Nasty night out there Sad.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 28/04/2012 21:43

Good warning Ariel. A reminder to stay off the moors tomorrow as well.

My daughter is on a school D of E camping and walking trip this weekend in the Surrey hills.

ViewsOfTheDowns · 28/04/2012 22:00

RBOTP - poor loves! It will no doubt be an experience to remember!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 28/04/2012 22:05

I think you may be right!! Am mostly feeling sorry for the teachers accompanying them.

oricella · 28/04/2012 22:07

glorious weekend here - debating whether to get some last ditch sledging in in the Cairngorms or hit the west coast to build sandcastles on a sunny beach....

Sounds splendid oricella.

Piste, that will be an experience!

Puddlejumper, must be a quiet night if there are police around for chopping!

Quiet here away from the coast. Am measuring light rain and gusts of 24 mph. Should get a bit more bothersome later.

I'm struggling with the contrast in weather and the strangeness of being on the good side of it for once... It's freezing though; hope it won't be too bad for you all tonight and tomorrow

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 28/04/2012 23:05

It does seem topsy turvey! Mind you Im sure I heard a -7c last night for somewhere in Scotland. Pretty sharp for the end of April.

I miss living on the coast when the weather is like this - if I didn't feel it was a bit irresponsible (adding to the numbers on the road and the petrol) I'd be very tempted to drive down for the day tomorrow, beats decorating!! Grin

Will go and bring the little plants inside for the night - they will love you OYBBK :)

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 28/04/2012 23:29

Right - little plants in, other odds and sods... neighbours all have stuff outside, fear I may not be able to get out my front door in the morning if the wind is that bad as I am at the end and there is a ton of stuff out with no fences Grin

Missielovelie · 28/04/2012 23:39

There is gale force winds with heavy rain happening now where i live, all i can hear outside is the neighbours awning banging about against the wall!

BlueRinse · 28/04/2012 23:49

It is pretty fierce here tonight, I love it!!!

GloriaSmud · 29/04/2012 06:24

Bit wild here (Leicester.) We've already gained a '2nd pond' and my walk in greenhouse (one of those things made from metal tubes with a plastic cover) has gone over. All my seedlings are in there I moved my sweet peas in there to protect them from the high wind/rain as well!
