Can't promise that I'll be able to add as much as I usually do (not very well atm) so its quite likely I might miss stuff but I've added a few thoughts to that thread re the current set up and tis easier if I just keep it in one place.

Settled and sky looks full of it just hope it's there tomorrow as ds is so excited!

seeker · 04/02/2012 20:03

Not snowing yet and dcs are starting on their panic buys!

mankyscotslass · 04/02/2012 20:05

About 2 cm here and now its stopped.

Methe · 04/02/2012 20:05

Dh recons we've had about 5cm here in the west midlands.

Sparklingbrook · 04/02/2012 20:08

Quite heavy again now, but if the forecast is to believed, within the hour it should be turning to rain.

Methe · 04/02/2012 20:09

Chucking it down still here too. The kids will be gutted if they wake up tommorrw and it's all gone :(

rosieposey · 04/02/2012 20:13

Well it started off here in N Wilts at 3pm really light and then at about 5.30 it really snowed heavily for about half an hour - nice big chunky flakes then it settled down again to light snow and is still going - the heavy half an hour was enough to give us an inch or so and its quite respectable out there now.

Just been for a lovely crunchy snowy walk with the family as its supposed to turn to rain later - it looks gorgeous out there :) Shame it can't stay but i am sooo happy we got some!

Sorry everyone that didn't get to see it, its a bit random and rubbish as to where it falls!

slartybartfast · 04/02/2012 20:15

the weather forecast keeps saying we will get it, 6, nope, 7, nope now it says between 9 and midnight.

GloriaSmud · 04/02/2012 20:17

In a highly scientific exercise involving one of DDs 'Hello Kitty' rulers, I nipped out and measured the snow depth. We're now up to 3cms of snow and it's beginning to settle on the main road. Think we've got several more hours of it to come as well.

iseenodust · 04/02/2012 20:23

Snow arrived here in E Yorks at 3.15pm which means forecast was accurate! It was very fluffy whirling in the wind stuff for a couple of hours but is still falling now.

lubeybooby · 04/02/2012 20:24

Just heading to 4cm here now, it's sped up in the last 20 mins or so. Looking at the radar I don't think there's much more than an hour left of it though. Maybe two hours. But what there is left will be around 1.5 to 2cm an hour. The radar keeps changing slightly so difficult to tell if more will suddenly be there at the back of what's there now.

ggirl · 04/02/2012 20:24

I do not want it to snow here , if it does I will have to go to work

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 20:25

slarty - if you are in the rough area I think you are, then it certainly is taking its time to get to you, the front is stalling somewhat, hence the high expected totals for many. Will get there though :)

JKSLtd · 04/02/2012 20:29

OYBBK - do you know if enough is going to fall in Essex overnight so there'll still be some for the DC tomorrow? Or is there rain behind all the snow that will wash it away? Poor DS1 will be gutted if he totally misses it - haven't checked in last few minutes if it's started yet (curtains are shut).

lubeybooby · 04/02/2012 20:30

It just got even heavier as I was standing looking at it. Radar seems to suggest it has another level of heaviness to go up yet too. Yes! More! More! :o

I'm looking at this one btw

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 20:33

JKS unless something very odd happens I dont think your dc will be disappointed :)

slartybartfast · 04/02/2012 20:33

THANKS oybk, rough area? hmm

GloriaSmud · 04/02/2012 20:34

lubey ~ looking at the met-monkey messageboard, posters are saying just what OYBBK has just said, that the front seems to have stalled a bit Grin
