Can't promise that I'll be able to add as much as I usually do (not very well atm) so its quite likely I might miss stuff but I've added a few thoughts to that thread re the current set up and tis easier if I just keep it in one place.

ds just eating his tea will stick him in the car in a minute and just get there early. It is just about walkable just not with two tired kids. Should be fine

Ds1 is especially desperate! We keep checking the snow map to see where it is. Was hoping it would start in daylight but doesn't look likely.

Not nice at all OYBBK - and I have to walk a mile there and back in it to collect eldest Manky.

Snow still lying on the grass/hedges and walls but not much else left now, we had a good cm before, DD was out playing in it, so not a total waste. Smile

Oh well, I hope you get losts of the decent stuff!

I have been watching the sky all day , it does look like it is going to snow but nothing yet , west sussex .

I would like a lot of the stuff so I can't drive tomorrow and have to stay at home instead of stupid work .

What are the chances OYBBK ?

So is it moving faster than expected, cos right up until this morning we weren't expecting it till 6ish and it arrived 4.15ish - which i know isn't much in weather terms but still
Anyway, am sat here with my hair all done ready for my birthday dinner party - and the first guests have already cried off - despite DH ringing them secretly while i was at the hairdressers to check they were ok with the weather. Sad
Poached salmon anyone?

not too terribly far PPP - but I do like to keep where I am private.

pepper - I think that the front is travelling across as expected but its just that there is more precip ahead of it than was perhaps forecast.

travellingwilbury - if you are a decent way inland then you might get a decent amount. Its just a matter really of if it turns to rain later in the night and that is really really hard to tell.

Thank you , am near Horsham so pretty inland , no to rain though , then it will melt and I will have to drive on all slushy ice stuff .

Arrww pepperrabit poached salmon sounds lovely. I am supposed to be going out to restaurant for my birthday dinner - hopefully we will get there before it starts snowing. If not I don't know what to eat (wish I had some poached salmon indoors lol) Have a lovely birthday dinner party.

Very light snow here (a few miles from Oxford) for the last hour or so. Had thought it had stopped but there's still the odd flake descending.

OBYYK I have snow :) It started snowing when I was in the supermarket and it's now laying (lightly). Getting pretty :)

It's been snowing here for about 3 hours (West Midlands). Very steady the whole time, but only tiny little snowflakes. Everything is totally white now, but it's not really enough to build a snow man with. Maybe a snow mouse. Or a snow cat if you were really determined.Smile

Started about 2pm and has been snowing steadily for the last 3 hrs (glos / Oxon border) Kids outside sledging! Happy bunnys cos I've been telling them we were due sleet not slow - having an early tea then out for more sledging by torchlight Smile

Had to laugh in the supermarket though. I was there, just doing a regular, needed to be done, shop (not at all down to whether it was going to snow or not) and most people seemed to be doing much the same , the usual gaggle of teens/early 20's buying 'fun food' to share with mates and this woman (yes, a woman also shopping, please do note the irony) says 'I don't understand why all these people are panic buying, it's so annoying'.

I was like........ermmmmmmmmmmmmmmm????
