Can't promise that I'll be able to add as much as I usually do (not very well atm) so its quite likely I might miss stuff but I've added a few thoughts to that thread re the current set up and tis easier if I just keep it in one place.

just got in and its -6.5 out there Shock Glos / Oxon border so don't think we'll get much in the way of the white stuff Sad.

rosieposey · 03/02/2012 21:05

OYBBK DH's car always shows a couple of degrees higher than mine - it did FEEL like -9 though. I've got to nip to the dreaded Asda for some nappies for DS so i am going to see what it says now Grin The heating has not been off at all this week!

whomovedmychocolate · 03/02/2012 21:05

I have a bloody marvellous van man (oxfordvanman.co.uk) - he's called Nico and he charges £30 an hour - if he's available, he'd move you and it's cheaper than doing it yourself with a hired van.

Hurrah another local person, we've moved here recently so know very few folks locally. We'll have to meet up for coffee. If you get stuck in the snow in Old Kidlington I'll wave out the window come and help. :)

Oh Happy Birthday to Rebecca MN's DD Grin

Snow for South Hampshire?

Weather forecast showed tomorrow night at 10pm ish but then thats it.

Staverton · 03/02/2012 21:13

Thanks for that. I will look him up. There are some great toddler groups in north Oxford- at michaels/st Andrews Linton road/ cutteslowe children centre ESP on a Monday where I have met some wonderful people...

Staverton · 03/02/2012 21:13

(sorry for hijack!!)

whojamaflip · 03/02/2012 21:19

Dh has just come down and said that the barometer is sitting at 1045! That, apparently, is the highest he's seen it in 12 years? or maybe he's just winding me up as I want snow and know nothing about weather Hmm

GloriaSmud · 03/02/2012 21:20

LOL at 'accoldaes', OYBBK; very appropriate in these temperatures!
I'm liking the sound of your home; hot chocolate with marshmallows and squirty cream and big open fires.

I think we're 'only' down to -2 at the moment. When I dropped DD2 at Brownies at 6.15pm, I felt every one of those minus figures!

Good luck with the move Staverton, hope there's not too much snow disruption for you.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/02/2012 22:09

-6.7C

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/02/2012 22:13

whojam - mine is at 1037 which is corrected for height. So yours isnt terribly far off.

youarekidding - tis a little bit borderline for south hampshire - coastal areas could struggle.

Gloria - tis a very little home but very cosy this evening :)

Going to see if the latest gfs is out :)

pepperrabbit · 03/02/2012 22:15

It's -6 here apparently. brrrrrrr!
Where are you OYBBK - I know i should know but you spend so much time helping the rest of the country with weather! Are you going to get snow?

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/02/2012 22:21

ooooo - less marginal for people I think - warm sector further south. more snow less rain. rather exciting actually I reckon.

OP posts:
OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/02/2012 22:23

hopefully pepper - am in CS England. Did look worryingly a bit marginal but not so now. Getting a bit excited Grin

MrsDeeBee · 03/02/2012 22:27

It's all sounding very promising. Smile

youarekidding · 03/02/2012 22:27

How coastal?

I'm not on any of the penisulars.

pepperrabbit · 03/02/2012 22:30

Did you run around the garden nekked in the end MrsD? Grin
Seems to have worked....

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/02/2012 22:35

hard to tell YAK - I wish I could be more definite for you, but your chances have improved a little. You are probably around the east/west border along the coast for snow from what I can see. Fingers crossed.

OP posts:
youarekidding · 03/02/2012 22:36

I'm crossing everything!

Forcast showed some coming our way but am South of the hill so salt from sea does prevent it laying at times.

(I have a leetle knowledge)

MrsDeeBee · 03/02/2012 22:37

I did, pepper. Wink

I shall be nekkedly "woo-wooing" tonight and tomorrow night especially. Grin

I really did. My DH dared me, so I had to.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/02/2012 22:38

youll have to tell us what nipple chilblains feel like MrsD

OP posts:
MrsDeeBee · 03/02/2012 22:38

I couldn't feel anything afterwards !

Very exhilarating !

MrsDeeBee · 03/02/2012 22:39

I highly recommend you all do it the once.

The MN Snow Dance.

We shall have significant snowfall ! Grin

pepperrabbit · 03/02/2012 22:42

and we're very grateful!

MrsDeeBee · 03/02/2012 22:43
Grin
pepperrabbit · 03/02/2012 22:44

I have 1 neighbour with 4 dogs each of whom would react.
