Can't promise that I'll be able to add as much as I usually do (not very well atm) so its quite likely I might miss stuff but I've added a few thoughts to that thread re the current set up and tis easier if I just keep it in one place.

SecretNutellaFix · 02/02/2012 22:53

You've been disappointed so far Mummylin!

I personally don't want snow.

TheCuntwormUnderfoot · 02/02/2012 22:55

BorneoMouth sounds very exotic mummylin

Have visions of orangutans in straw hats relaxing in deckchairs.

-4 here this morning when I checked the weather station at 6.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/02/2012 07:12

You know how yesterday I said locally we would need a temperature of -7.8C to see a frost. Well, I looked out of the window as I got up and saw a frost. I was a bit Shock. We have had a low of -8.5C over night. Currently -8.1C and dipping back down again.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/02/2012 07:13

Ponders, yes that looks likely to be true for the west.

MegGriffin · 03/02/2012 07:17

I'm so excited, I may burst!

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/02/2012 07:19

Rebecca - quick look at models this am show that you have a potentially challenging afternoon. UKMO is still a little slower than GFS but both show probable snow in your area mid afternoon. Will look again later.

It is blumming freezing out there this morning ,

We are forecast snow sat night , sun morning as are most people but it doesn't say how heavy ? I will be working on sunday morning with lots of driving out in the sticks . Any chance I will be snowed in enough so I can go sledging instead of work ? Please Grin

Another one near Horsham .

rosieposey · 03/02/2012 07:24

OYBBK it's very frosty outside here in Swindon does that mean it dropped that low here for us too? MO are forecasting heavy snow here for 6pm and sleet for 9pm on Sat What are the chances that it might actually settle? I guess for the West ( we are sort of the top end of the west I suppose) it's going to be that wet transient rubbish?
No real snow event so far this year, I wonder what tomorrow will bring - I love snow, everything is transformed and looks so beautiful.

DialsMavis · 03/02/2012 07:26

Fairly frosty in the arse end of west London this morning, this bus is fffffreezing!

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/02/2012 07:27

Locally yes Rosie. Your official station is probably this one but local frost hollows often get significantly below official stations.
I think it is very likely to settle to start with but you may well end up with a bit of a mix later. Hard to tell.

Oh exciting Grin I'm going out in it as soon as it starts falling (if it starts falling) thanks for the link to lyneham weather station - it got down to 6.2 last night so it must have been lower - I love this weather, it's been so mild and boring so far this winter, it feels like 'proper' winter now iykwim?

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/02/2012 07:39

Bit concerned about the possibility of freezing rain for those in the west tomorrow - it wouldn't be true freezing rain which is supercooled rain instantly turning to ice as soon as it hits something, but with the possibility of rain falling onto very cold surfaces, ice could be a real issue.

Still Envy that you lot will get a decent amount.

I want to build snowmen and stick snow down the DC's necks.

And carry the cat outside and drop him in deep snow to see what he does.
