Can't promise that I'll be able to add as much as I usually do (not very well atm) so its quite likely I might miss stuff but I've added a few thoughts to that thread re the current set up and tis easier if I just keep it in one place.

MooncupGoddess · 02/02/2012 15:11

I am longing for snow in London but it looks like we'll get a few mm at best :(

mycatsaysach · 02/02/2012 15:47

-10 was mentioned on news earlier as the lowest temp last night - didn't hear where tho

moonmother · 02/02/2012 15:52

Grghhh Met office warnings down, I'm in Bedfordshire (just into East Anglia)

Hoping to get the possible dumping on Sat/Sun, mighty cold out there at the mo, with a bitter biting wind. My weather station currently stating 0.2 outside with 55% humidity, although is in a v sheltered spot.

Don't mind the cold and love the snow, but a s a Mid Day superviser at school would just like to keep my feet warm , which seems to be an impossibility at the mo. Grin

denialandpanic · 02/02/2012 16:30

e mail from met office at work today warning of 5-10 cm sat night into sun. South east. Said severe weather warnings were to be issued. We've been told to bring work home friday for Monday. Not sure when it would have been issued as it takes a while to trickle down from management

PeneloPeePitstop · 02/02/2012 16:48

Met Office warnings still not working - is there anywhere else reliable to look?

OhyouBadBadkitten · 02/02/2012 17:14

PPP - no, the met office warnings are pretty unique - unless you are in a rather privileged position like denialandpanic.

Very handy insight d&p! thank you :)

Doofuses.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 02/02/2012 17:17

Met office warnings gives everyone a turn away from the SW and scotland!

OP posts:
OhyouBadBadkitten · 02/02/2012 17:19

lol PPP! thats the problem with those maps this far out, I've no idea whether they take the average weather through the day or whether they just stick a pin in at a certain time of day.

OP posts:
PeneloPeePitstop · 02/02/2012 17:24

I just want ten tons of the stuff.
Netweather is looking lovely, shame it's not that accurate Grin

TobyLeWolef · 02/02/2012 17:24

Ooooh, looks like we're for it in the middle of Kent :o

denialandpanic · 02/02/2012 17:33

we were accidentally forwarded the number of the duty forecaster ;) I was included in the e mail list for a short period in Dec 2010 (big important outside project). I was in weather heaven at first until it snowed all over my project and caused havoc.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 02/02/2012 17:36

Grin at 'snowed all over your project'. Very inconvenient!
I would love to be on that list.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 02/02/2012 17:45

pdf of met office warnings makes it nice and easy to read. Note the level of uncertainty for Sat and Sun.

whomovedmychocolate · 02/02/2012 17:54

I'm SO FED UP OF the promise of snow but no snow. I have bought cleats for my shoes, I have the sledges ready, shovels, salt, deicer etc. I even invested in some silk thermals to go under my woolly thermals and now there is NO FUCKING SNOW. AND HASN'T BEEN FOR FOURTEEN MONTHS GAH! Hmm

I don't believe there will be any anymore. :(

whomovedmychocolate · 02/02/2012 17:54

That was a dig at the weather forecasters btw, not anyone on this thread. WHERE'S MY BLOODY SNOW!?

OhyouBadBadkitten · 02/02/2012 17:59

Grin Don't worry I wasn't offended

OP posts:
denialandpanic · 02/02/2012 18:05

I think the likelihood of snow is inversely proportional to how prepared you are. We have not much food in and no wine so I expect the snow here to be earlier than forecast and much worse than they are saying. Also the boilers playing up and I haven't seen the candles since we moved house. So watch out Surrey snowmaggedon is likely..........................

OhyouBadBadkitten · 02/02/2012 18:25

Shock you could be right d&p as we have been eating up all our freezer food and I'm not able to go out and play. Central southern England will be blanketed!

OP posts:
whomovedmychocolate · 02/02/2012 19:26

I have been to Sainsburys and brought bread and milk. It will now not snow for seven days.

whomovedmychocolate · 02/02/2012 19:27

I would like to point out that OP has a fricking IGLOO on her profile! Shock Envy

OhyouBadBadkitten · 02/02/2012 19:32

I made that
