Thanks @Firefly89 that totally hasn’t occurred to me until just after i hit post and then it was too late.

I got mine during lockdown and have achieved a 5star rating twice as I have two lily of the valley flowers. No idea how I did it - must've done something right a couple of times 😃 I have joined a FB group and managed to travel to someone's island to get my last fruit which was cherries. Luckily my DD (19) plays and has lots of friends so has helped me out but I don't feel right in making friends with her friends so have also joined another FB chat for people of a certain age so we can travel to each others islands. Loving the game and glad I upgraded from Wild World 😂

We love animal crossing here. My dc play on the main switch, and I play on my switch lite, so they can merrily run riot with the island designer app, while I get to lovingly create my own island paradise 😂

I’ve only just started with my own island, but I’m slowly getting there. It’s nice being able to visit our islands on local play, but it would also be great to visit other people too.

My ds is currently annoyed with me as I just had Raymond turn up at my campsite (first visitor!) and apparently he is really rare.

Dd and ds are having an ongoing battle over which villagers should stay and which should go - ds wants a whole island of elephants I think, and dd is opposing this (mostly just because she can!)

Oh, meant to say, I have all the fruits and bamboo if anyone needs anything.

Thanks @atowelandapotato - I actually met up with a friend online last night and we got all our missing fruits! Just waiting for them to grow now :)

Has anyone got any tips on catching a fly? I have quite a lot of ‘trash’ dotted around my island but I haven’t seen a fly yet!

I caught it in trash. I saw one a few days before on trash so maybe it’s every 2/3 days? I just put my trash together though just to check one spot. Not sure if that makes it more likely.

Make sure your trash (rotten turnips seem to work best for me) is on a path or somewhere that means ants won’t spawn instead.

Keep your net to hand and wander past just within eyesight but not too close or you might scare the fly off before you can catch it.
They don’t seem to spawn as often as ants so patience is needed!

Apart from rotten turnips, what else is classed as trash?

Things you fish like tyres, cans and boots

Ah, so if I just leave a few lying about, they should attract flies?

Yeah. I’ve only seen one fly at a time and they are quite dark in colour so not always easy to spot until they fly and reposition.

Thanks, I’ll give it a go (when I get a chance - ds has nicked my Lite and is designing me an island flag and tune. So much for being in control of my own island 🤔😂)

I’ve been making a greenhouse area today and some cliffs with waterfalls today. Although sad times, Freckles is moving out. Villager hunt here we come!!

If I leave stuff out that I have made, will DD be able to pick them up and put them in her house?
