Anyone want to join and discuss/trade animal crossing tips?

If anyone is looking for summer shells for a recipe (the blue ones) I have some stashed away, Just let me know! I also have some bamboo shoots kicking around.

How are you all doing with growing flowers? Are there any colours/varieties you are struggling with?

I’ve got all the fruits if anyone needs any, also got flowers etc and some spare recipes on my Island.

One of my villagers, Judy, who I spent a lot of NMT on hunting tried to move out today! Urm, no you’re not!!

A barbecue has randomly appeared on my plaza. Not sure what to do with it.

Just got stung by a scorpion. Again. Vicious little shit chased me when I wasn't going anywhere near it! 😂

I really need to catch one before the end of the month! I only have that and mahi mahi to try and get before they disappear at the end of OCT. I’ve got 3 others that need to be caught be the end of November.

If anyone has any tips on how to find someone with fleas, I’d really appreciate it!

Go round and talk to the other islanders and soon enough one of them will tell you how itchy they are. Whack them with a net and Bob’s your uncle

@DearPrudence random stuff appears a lot! BBQ’s, benches, shoe sellers...it’s very exciting. You don’t need to do anything with the bbq but you might find some islanders gathered around it later

@MiddleClassProblem you might need to “sneak attack” them with the net, otherwise sometimes you just end up smashing them in the face!

Yeah I tried but it got me but I think that’s because it was facing me. It was in a corner so I had no choice. I gotta get it!!!

I've had sellers before but never a random object. Was most exciting.

I just get annoyed that the islanders are often wandering around with ice creams, doughnuts or drinks and I can’t get one! They look so yummy!
I’m holding out hope they bring out an update for a coffee shop like last time!

Thanks @PluralPatty I managed to catch some fleas tonight thanks to your tip. Phoebe the ostrich had them, I normally moan about her as she follows me about and I find her annoying but she was useful tonight.

Just the mahi mahi to catch now. Apparently you have to be on the pier and use fish bait

Once you spot the scorpion dig some holes in an 'L' shape, get its attention, run towards your holes and jump over them. It will get stuck running at the holes and then you can turn round and catch it. I think there's a video on YouTube somewhere of how to do it.

Hi all hoping for sone Switch advice. My adult dd lives abroad and has been hinting heavily that she would love a Switch for xmas. Trouble is there seem to be very few on amazon where she lives and they are very expensive. They have this animal crossing one though, so my question is, would this be a silly console to buy an adult, or is she likely to love it?

@Deadringer I think, like anything aesthetic, it just depends on the person. I know adults who would love it and others wouldn’t. Is she into “cute” things?

@Deadringer I would love it but I love Animal Crossing and am not particularly worried about being 'cool' 😄 Why does your DD want a Switch? If it's for Animal Crossing then go for it. If she wants to play immersive zombie hunting shoot-em-ups then perhaps not?

Also, if that is actually the cheapest one, then you can also buy vinyl stickers to cover the dock if she would prefer something plainer? Or punkier? Or whatever!

Thanks for replies, i know its not what this thread is about but wanted to ask people who know and like the switch. She is not remotely cutesy, i will sound her out about whether she plays/ likes Animal crossing. The others are 800+ dollars, this one is 400 so a massive difference. Thanks again.

I caught a mahi mahi yesterday. It took a looooot of bait but obviously it’s a bit pot luck with that. I would aim to take at least 50 bait bags with you. It’s a bore. I wish you could buy bait bags like you can medicine or that you could craft it in batches rather than one at a time. Maybe a better table you can? I just have a basic one.

Which pier for the mahi-mahi? The slightly broken down one? I suppose that’s the only one
