I'm doing 2 weeks (hopefully longer) of no processed food. Does anyone else do this?

KobaniDaughters · 21/03/2022 15:53

I prob only eat processed food (ie fake meats but not including say pasta) once a week anyway, how unprocessed are you thinking?

ppeatfruit · 21/03/2022 16:25

Oh I suppose apart from choc. tofu or oat desserts, or pasta which I make into vegan dishes, oh and bread and choclate! I don't eat processed food because I' lm lucky to have the time to make the majority of my food myself.

Oh I just thought of olive oil which I use instead of 'pretend butter' spreads for my bread, blimey that made me think of the pnut butter and yeast spread too! and the bread of course! Though I have made the yeast spread this time because my nooch had gone solid!

B. Finished my prune smoothie, Walnuts
L. Steamed cauliflour and Fennel with bread. Choc dessert
Sn, More cauli with tamari. Some little sponge bix (very moreish not vegan .)

@KobaniDaughters I'm thinking zero processed, just need to cut out the dark choc and I'm wondering if Kimchi counts as processed - it probably does. Does anyone make their own Kimchi?

KobaniDaughters · 21/03/2022 16:55

good luck! DH makes his own pasta occasionally but otherwise we use dried, and we buy oatmilk rather than make it, I also buy kimchi

ppeatfruit · 21/03/2022 16:57

Mummy No I don't like white cabbage or vinegar! It doesn't suit me. A bit of dark choc isn't too processed, I have made it before! Though it is definitely addictive!

OP posts:
Mummyoply · 21/03/2022 17:44

It's really hard hence only doing it 'full on' for 2 weeks, after that I will def have Kimchi and dark Choc - not together of course! Grin

I'm just hoping it will give me a bit of a refresh, get me of the sugar and the processed breakfast bars I'm keen on!

It was lovely seeing them, but apart from freshly made cucumber sandwiches which I made with brebis butter, I know it doesn't qualify Grin there was nothing vegan. The problem with some French cakes they always look much better than they taste (dh buys with his eyes) so as Prue Leith says they weren't worth the calories!

Yesterday ;
B. Sultana smoothie
L. Defrosted my pasta bake with salad
S. Spelt sandwiches with normal spreads and cucumber, drop of champagne! Cake.
