I’ll see if I can get hold of it here @ppeatfruit I def think I’m stress eating and went to bed with an overfill sore tummy again last night 🙄

Did make a delicious gnocchi bake for dinner last night though

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 08/03/2022 21:57

@SapatSea I liked the brook delivery (more than DH but it was more to my taste than his to be honest). The sauces were a fair bit more than needed (although DD19 is enjoying working her way through the leftover pots while she convalesces from glandular fever poor thing) Definitely a nice treat, especially with the gin cocktails my parents sent us 😬
@ppeatfruit - good job you're back to sort your DH out, even though you don't eat together much!
@KobaniDaughters I keep thinking I need to IF soon. The more I eat, the more I want...

Yesterday
B: porridge with blueberries and golden syrup
L: very small portion of leftover noodles, small portion of Egyptian stew with dukkah
S: chocolate digestives
Dinner at pizza express - dough balls and garlic bread with vegan cheese, olives, aubergine melazane, small piece of carrot cake

Today

B: Monday smoothie
L: celeriac risotto
S: nakd bar
D: chickpea/courgette fritters, Swiss chard, purple sprouting broccoli, mushrooms, roasted tomatoes and avocado

SapatSea · 09/03/2022 10:41

PartTimeI hope your DD recovers soon, glandular fever. Gorgeous food as always. Egyptian stew sounds good.

I hear you about IF. I need to lose weight and I know my downfall is sugar and snacking. Some afternoons I feel I could gnaw my arm off to get a bit of something sweet. Vowing to have just two squares of chocolate doesn't work for me, if the bar is there then it's gone. The DC still eat biscuits and chocolate so there is always something accessible. Sad

Yesterday:
B: Seeded oatcakes, apple
L: Nutburger, salad
Sn: Bar of G&B Hazelnut and Currant Choc
D: Oven tray meal of riced cauliflower with roasted brussel sprouts, red onion, mushroom and courgettes in a miso/sesame oil marinade with the fixings (soy, sriracha, scallions etc)

Today:
B: Cocoa, oatcakes
L: porridge, cinnamon, prunes, seeds, nuts etc
D: Steamed green veg (edamame, peas, leeks, cabbage, broccoli) with furikake, rice and soy etc
Sn: trying to eat a cream cracker when the sugar cravings come.

ppeatfruit · 09/03/2022 13:36

Sapat have a look at Paul Mackenna's " I Can Make You Thin' way of eating. (the only one that really worked for me though I had 3 stone to lose and didn't want to be thin just slim! ) and am maintaining with it.

The brilliant thing about it is that you can go on and off it with no effort or that "well I've ruined it, now it'll all go down hill!" It's a change of lifestyle.
That craving for sweet things can be helped by eating a lemon and or grapefruit first thing in the morning. It's a bit of a shock to begin with but it does sort of reset your taste buds. Sorry to go on I'll pm you if you're interested.

B. O\n soaked sultanas, pears, apple in whole grapefuit and lemon juice then ground linseeds and pear juice in the morning.
L. Mixed salad of grated carrots, endive, shallot basil and chopped walnuts with a mustard vinaigrette. 2 slices of spelt bread and my spreads
S. Pea soup with tamari. Hot frothy almond milk carob ground ginger and molasses drink.

I like celeriac did you make the risotto? D.Goddess The problem with dh is that he thinks he can get better on his own ,which it's obvious he can't!

Did any one see your user name Nigella on TV last night , she certainly IS'NT a vegan! all that butter on her toast and IN her bread!!

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 10/03/2022 11:45

B. Finished the pear\apple smoothie. Some nuts.

L. Yesterday's salad with spelt bread,Choc. pieces.

L. I made an onion soup and had inspiraton to make a different dish with half of it. So using up breadcrumbs I mixed some cooked onions and garlic, also dried herbs, tamari and bicarb with it , Shoved it in the m\wave, it was lovely. Dark choc almond dessert.
Sn. 2 oatcakes with pnut butter etc.
S. Finished onion pudding!

Like the sound of your onion dish @ppeatfruit

B: apple slices with pistachio butter
L: blueberries, hummus, cucumber, cherry tomatoes
S: this Japanese snack mix from Costco which was delicious and very moreish
D: truffle, asparagus and leek risotto

Then went to a friend’s for book club and had cheese and crackers and apple slices and 2.5 glasses of wine (most I’ve had to drink in one sitting this year and what felt like a million mini cardamom brownies!!

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 12/03/2022 09:06

I also like the sound of your onion pudding @ppeatfruit and LOVE the sound of mini cardamom brownies @KobaniDaughters!
Thanks @SapatSea, DD is ok - still sleeping and resting a lot. Don't mind admitting that it's quite nice she's here for meals because she's ill...

Wednesday

L: takeaway pizza at work
D: roasted salad potatoes/carrots/squash/cauliflower, Swiss chard, purple sprouting broccoli, a Richmond sausage wrapped in Richmond facon with gravy and nut roast (which was the other half of the xmas nut roast that I’d frozen)

Thursday
B: trek peanut protein bar, alpro cherry yogurt
L: Dahl with leftover veggies from last nights dinner

S: hot cross bun (toasted), ready salted crisps, chocolate fingers

ppeatfruit · 12/03/2022 10:06

Thanks (anyone has news of the babies?)

.it's interesting about microwave cooking; Mum has solely used hers for many , many years. (i study the manual at hers and make the best choc cakes\puddings than I've ever made with 'normal' cooking! ) It's because you can control the strength of the waves which I never realised before! I've always cooked vegan cakes there too. often using just bicarb or bicarb and soaked linseeds. It's a combination one but due to not bothering I don't even follow all the recipe directions!

If you can make a choc. pudding without the 'oven' then you can make a cake in the microwave, is my philosophy and you CAN !!!

B.Soaked o\n figs and apples, pear juice, ground ginger and linseeds lemon smoothie
L. Onion soup, with toasted ryvitas
Sn\S. Picking at fruit and nuts. Carob frothy almond milk with molasses and ground ginger hot drink.

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 14/03/2022 06:54

@ppeatfruit we never got any baby news on the thread

Saturday

B: slice of toast and marmalade
L: hummus and grated carrot sandwich, s&v crisps, more hummus with handful of tortilla chips
S: small bowl tomato and lentil soup, malt loaf, nakd bar, sensations mini poppadoms
Dinner at a friends - bean chilli, rice, guacamole, vegan feta followed by cherry and almond cake which was lovely (recipe in the recent Ocado magazine, their DC are coeliac so a gluten free vegan cake felt like a holy grail 😂)

Yesterday

B/L: beans on toast
S: alto cherry yogurt
Dinner at a nice pub in the New Forest - lentil cottage pie with carrot/swede mash served with sautéed cabbage, tenderstem and gravy. Chocolate and cherry tart with cherry sorbet for dessert

ppeatfruit · 14/03/2022 13:12

No, I did check, but thanks Domestic God! It's funny because although dairy has never agreed with me (since my 2Os) and I had I almost given it up, when I had the babies I believed the publicity and gave them doorstep milk after weaning of course. Maybe a lot of people feel the pressure.

I only really regret it with DS because he had bad effects from it (he improved as soon as I realised) BUT now he can choose for himself he thinks milk is ok , though he is very allergic to cats . (difficult for us because we rescue cats).

Lucky you with that cherry cake! I love the New Forest dm used to live in Hythe and we went there a lot.

B. An almond milk, almond butter and ground linseed , molasses smoothie for a change!
L. Large mixed green salad with steamed spinach and a garlic, mustard dressing which I later made into a smoothie because dh didn't like the dressing with raw garlic, he's a wimp. S. Some of my bean dip with ryvitas.

'Impossible nuggets? " Kobani Grin there a lot.

I don't know what I'd do if I had a baby now @ppeatfruit (in diet terms). I think little ones can eat a healthy vegan diet but it might be harder to do. Depends on the child (as well as lots of other things of course!)

Yesterday was

B: Monday smoothie
L: Egyptian stew with dukkah
D: Richmond sausages, mashed potato, purple sprouting broccoli plus the leaves which I stripped like kale, roast carrots, peas and gravy

ppeatfruit · 15/03/2022 10:56

Yes I kept my dcs veggie for quite a while (it was difficult when we visited the ILs though!). Ds is a vegan, dd2 eats 'mainstream' dd1 sort of pescatarian. I try not to 'go on' at them!
B. Finished fig smoothie
L.Warmed up green salad soup with toasted spelt bread and white bean dip.
S. Pumpernickel and pnut butter/yeast spread. Carob.chicory and molasses drink.

OP posts:
KobaniDaughters · 15/03/2022 13:46

I think I’d have raised my children veggie if I were vegan when they were born, maybe pescatarian. Does depend on having a not fussy child though - DS eats everything and has actually recently become pescatarian, but DD eats a very limited range of food and the only veggie protein she likes is chickpeas

Yesterday:
B: porridge with cashew cream and blueberries
L: chickpea scramble and avocado salad
D: tofish and broccoli
S: did a lot of sampling whole food prepping 😂

KobaniDaughters · 16/03/2022 02:27

B: apple, coconut water, avocado, matcha and flax seed smoothie
L: Ayurvedic stew
D: besan with kitchari and mustard seed beetroot leaves

ppeatfruit · 16/03/2022 14:23

It's tricky when they're fussy anyway!! You might not think it but I didn't want to influence them unduly with their eating, apart from keeping away (not buying ) high sugar fizzy drinks and many junk foods when possible! Of course lunch boxes were a minefield but I did try to be relaxed about them!

B. I made one of the best winter smoothies I've made; o\n soaked in pear juice figs and pears then a whole lemon with filtered water and ground pumpkin seeds then a good tspoon of ground ginger. FAB!

L. HM pasta\white bean, tahini \ raw garlic and olive oil dish with a topping of ground linseeds, mixed with pnut butter and ground hazelnuts (my version of mac n 'cheese') Choc.

S. 3 slices spelt bread with usual spread and raw shallot. and endive.

OP posts:
PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 17/03/2022 13:20

Completely agree that it depends on the child and how fussy they are. DD1 was such a good eater that we could have been smug about it thinking it was down to our approach and how we'd given her lots of different foods from early on. Until DD2 came along that is... 😂

Tuesday
B: porridge with sultanas
L: Dahl with purple sprouting broccoli and a hm naan from the freezer
No dinner due to feeling unwell (in a weird non-specific kind of way!)

Wednesday
B: toasted hot cross bun with plant butter
L: porridge with sultanas
D: black bean, sweet potato and chipotle stew with dumplings
S: toast and marmite

KobaniDaughters · 17/03/2022 13:38

B: half an avocado
L: chickpea and avocado salad, raspberries and blueberries
S: hummus and cucumber
D: alkaline veggie stew

ppeatfruit · 17/03/2022 14:07

Yes I know that feeling Domestic I usually get it if I've slept badly, it gives me a bad temper too and creates an 'eat anything' feeling!

I said ds is vegan but he's only one when he feels like it; he's a world religionist and there's quite a bit of mystique surrounding the consumption of milk in Hinduism, you know, the Holy Cow. Even more interesting is the fact that his wife, who is Indian, a Hindu and is a real vegan!!

B. The pear smoothie. A soya milk decaff capuzzi,
L, A bowl of steamed sprinach with leftover mac n 'cheese'. Chox.
S. Pumpernickel with usual spreads and shallot salad.

OP posts:
PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 17/03/2022 21:37

B: alpro cherry yogurt, trek peanut protein bar
L: lentil and root veg curry
D: sweetcorn chowder with crusty bread
S: nakd bar

ppeatfruit · 19/03/2022 10:14

Oh I just remembered you have teeth problems Part i've conquered mine with stepping up my Vit C intake (I peel a lemon before breakfast and after juicing it into my smoothie I eat it). This works!

B. Finish smoothie.
L. H/M leek and carrot crumble . Choc.
Sn. Bowl of spelt flakes with soy milk and molasses.
S, a pomelo

OP posts:
PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 19/03/2022 10:36

Yesterday

B: kale smoothie
