Hi Twittlebee and welcome. I hope your DS is feeling better and you aren't feeling too shattered. Donuts and Skittles- we all need that sometimes (me on most days - although I tend to raid my kids(well they are adults really) dark chocolate supplies and Hobnobs)

KobaniDaughters The Just Egg sounds good, I've heard of it and read that it was due to be rolled out to the UK by December 2021 but I've not seen it anywhere - perhaps plans have been slowed down by the pandemic.

B: G&B hot chocolate, made mostly with hot water with a bit of Oatly Barista frothed up for the top. Seeded oatcakes. Apple.
L: Red Lentil Dal, spring greens, roti.
D: Chinese corn soup with riced cauliflower stir fried with edamame, peas, spring onion, pak choi, ginger, garlic, soy, sesame oil, white pepper, roasted cashews, chilli.

KobaniDaughters · 25/01/2022 16:18

Welcome @TwittleBee that aubergine curry does sound good! Let us know if you try it at home and hope your DS feels better soon

DH has proclaimed he wants to cook more having binge watched some cooking programs, I’ll hold my breath to see if he actually does and make some batches of curries for the inevitable 😂 in fairness he has finally tested positive too and feels pretty rotten

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 25/01/2022 21:59

Welcome @TwittleBee. Echo that you have to do what you have to do somedays 😊 and also hope your DS is feeling better. Jealous of a Nepalese takeaway option!
@SapatSea your dinner sounds lush
@KobaniDaughters hope your DH doesn't feel bad for long. DD18 has it for the second time ffs but isn't poorly. Seems to be managing quite well with room service 😂

Today has been

B: porridge with sultanas
L: spinach soup with nooch and pine nuts, marmite sandwich
D: ‘fish’ goujons (M&S), roasted baby potatoes and carrots, steamed cabbage/broccoli, peas. Gu salted caramel chocolate mousse. The M&S goujons and the chocolate mousse were both nice

KobaniDaughters · 26/01/2022 03:42

@PartTimeDomesticGoddess when did she last have it?!

B: coffee, almond butter, date and banana smoothie
L: chickpea and Jalepeno and avocado salad
S: 4 (!!) ginger nuts, 2 energy balls I made for DC, dried mango, Bombay mix
D: got out ottelenghi’s test kitchen book and make summer squash with tomato salsa and smoked aubergine with tomatoes and tahini, with hummus and pita bread

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 26/01/2022 07:17

@KobaniDaughters she had it end of July. She's since had both vaccines and the booster, but she's 18 and spends time in nightclubs etc!
I think 4 is a minimum portion of ginger nuts for what it's worth 😂

TwittleBee · 26/01/2022 13:20

KobaniDaughters · 27/01/2022 15:54

I wouldn’t know @PartTimeDomesticGoddess my sense of taste has gone!! I can taste if something is bitter or has heat or if it’s strong garlic but all flavours have disappeared 😭

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 27/01/2022 16:22

@KobaniDaughters

I wouldn’t know *@PartTimeDomesticGoddess* my sense of taste has gone!! I can taste if something is bitter or has heat or if it’s strong garlic but all flavours have disappeared 😭

SapatSea · 30/01/2022 11:49

KobaniDaughters I hope you are all feeling better and that you can taste again!

I've been stuck in a loop of Dal or channa Masalaand greens for lunch and rice, tofu and steamed veg in the evenings for various reasons. It has been nice to not have to think or plan too hard.

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 30/01/2022 17:20

@SapatSea I know what you mean about time off from thinking about it.

@KobaniDaughters hope you're either managing to keep your food intake up with the taste situation or enjoying the side effects of eating less 😉 In either case, hope things are improving

TwittleBee · 30/01/2022 21:14

Let's face it, those packets of Oggs millionaires shortbreads cannot be opened without being consumed within a few hours (usually minutes)

TwittleBee · 30/01/2022 21:16

@TwittleBee it's a Meera sodha recipe from the guardian. It's my favourite winter risotto
