MNHQ Thank you very much for the horsey topic but

... does it really have to be called My little pony? I am sorry if that sounds ungrateful but I am worried we might upset people who really want to discuss what to do about Glittery Prancer's lost sequinned comb.

I think 'Mumsnet pony club' would attract the right sort.

PMSL Swede!

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/01/2009 15:26

Ah, is that what the topic is about. Get it now.

Threadworm · 09/01/2009 15:29

Haynet?

Threadworm · 09/01/2009 15:30

Maresnet?

SwedesInACape · 09/01/2009 15:31

I think Tech is having a bit of a laugh at our expense. Just as well we are thoroughly good sorts.

AmIOdetteOrOdile · 09/01/2009 15:32

Bay(o)net?

SwedesInACape · 09/01/2009 15:32

Haynet is marvellous. But might it be a bit cryptic for horsey types with aristocratic blood?

stealthsquiggle · 09/01/2009 15:34

So it really is intended as a horsey topic then ?

I thought it was MNHQ practising for April 1st and the whole topic on Polly Pocket

GeraldineMumsnet · 09/01/2009 15:35

Swedes, an inquiry into who left the shed stable door open is under way but changing the name might be a case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.

SwedesInACape · 09/01/2009 15:41

The worrying think is, there are a lot of Mumsnetters who seem to be extremely pleased to have somewhere to discuss the lustrous sheen on Lickety Split's mane, and her pink high-heeled shoes.

It seems a shame to gallop towards them in our scarlet coats and tell them to get orf the farking thread.

There must be 10 guinea pig threads for every horse thread. Horse topic is weird even with non-weird name.

cazboldy · 09/01/2009 15:45

why Threadworm?

PoloPlayingMummy · 09/01/2009 15:50

yeah, the name does suck. a horsey section is great but the only posts so far are about sodding plastic toys!! yes i know how to untangle a mane...on no, you mean your plastic pony. arrrggghhhh!

(sorry, rant over)

Hassled · 09/01/2009 15:50

I lurve "My Little Pony". I want the Chicken topic rechristened Henny Penny forthwith.

FAQtothefuture · 09/01/2009 15:51

Hassled - all those poor little chickens you want them to be eaten by the fox

LEMONDR0P · 09/01/2009 15:54

I know when I'm not wanted. I shall return to my show stable anon.

Hassled · 09/01/2009 15:55

Good point, well made .

OK then the Foghorn Leghorn topic

SwedesInACape · 09/01/2009 15:55

The My Little Pony Mumsnet cult is truly fascinating.

Bless

Always something on here for when you're feeling a bit crap

Thanks ladies o and ..erm..ponies

PoloPlayingMummy · 09/01/2009 16:01

"It seems a shame to gallop towards them in our scarlet coats and tell them to get orf the farking thread."- ooh but it would be soo much fun.

stealthsquiggle · 09/01/2009 16:04

It makes me LOL because "My Little Pony" is family-speak for anything which, once acquired, instantly "needs" accessories which add up to several times the initial cost - examples being any power tool whatsoever and, in my father's case, cameras.

LadyOfWaffle · 09/01/2009 16:04

It makes us sound like a bunch of loons combing pink plastic ponies manes. Call us the horsey set and be done with it.
Am very we have a topic though, was thinking about asking but seems someone already did!

Threadworm · 09/01/2009 17:15

Sorry caz. I was mean. Of course if enough people are asking for a topic that in itself is reason for having one. It's only that in principle it seems odd to subdivide the pets topic just for some animals (chickens and horses) and not others. But it's not as if the internet will run out of room.

Perhaps we should subdivide elsewhere -- e.g. a Mother-in-Law topic inside Relationships.
