... does it really have to be called My little pony? I am sorry if that sounds ungrateful but I am worried we might upset people who really want to discuss what to do about Glittery Prancer's lost sequinned comb.

I think 'Mumsnet pony club' would attract the right sort.

What about calling it Loosebox Women?

SwedesInACape · 09/01/2009 17:42

The title 'Riders' might invite some interesting posts. Not least from Solidgoldbrasss.

Oh dear do you really not like it - it made us chuckle? (Think Big Tech really does think it's for discussing the orange variety with heart tatoos on their hithers.)

Well here was our shortlist:

Horse lovers
Horsey types
Pony club
Only fools and horses (kidding)

Register your vote on this thread and if there's a clear consensus we'll see if we can persuade him to change it.

Tally ho!

So no-one an help me with my search for an original 1980's Wind-Whistler with comb and ribbon?

winestein · 09/01/2009 18:02

What about Pony Girls?

[not very helpful]

SwedesInACape · 09/01/2009 18:23

SiriusMew

Justine I quite like the fact that Lickety Split in her high-heeled lemon shoes is sharing the field.

Horse lovers - Doesn't this sound a bit Catherine the Great?

Horsey types - Surely the headscarves could be dealt with on Style & Beauty?

Only foals and horses is quite good.

I think I like Mumsnet Pony Club the best.

Call it - 'The Tack Room'

LadyOfWaffle · 09/01/2009 18:53

Although I am liking the pun in horsey types... but, seriously, The Tack Room.

Hassled · 09/01/2009 18:56

"Horse Lovers" could easily be misconstrued .

I have no interest in ponies, whether flesh or plastic, so don't understand why I;m even here, but if I were I'd go for the Rupert Campbell-Black topic. Or Only Fools and Horses.

PoloPlayingMummy · 09/01/2009 19:07

I would 2nd the Tack Room, but off the list Mumsnet Pony Club is the best IMO (god, how long is it since any of us will have been to Pony Club )

portableradiator · 09/01/2009 19:09

Oi you bunch of yacking horse faces!

fille · 09/01/2009 19:11

No-one for "My Little Pink Unicorn" then????

pointydog · 09/01/2009 19:18

Bit Between the Teeth
Hot to Trot
Galloping Gals
Whip Crack-Away

combustiblelemon · 09/01/2009 19:21

The grooming parlour?
The show stable?

pointydog · 09/01/2009 19:22

The Numnahs

(I just like that word)

The Half Chaps

SlightlyMadScientist · 09/01/2009 19:24

Why does it have to have a comedy name.

Breast and bottle feeding hasn't been renamed
"nipple and teat suckers"
"behaviour and develeopment" hasn't been renamed "tantrums r us"

what is wrong with "horse owners"?

LadyOfWaffle · 09/01/2009 19:24

The Tack Room, anything 'novelty' is naffola.

Did I mention I think we should call it The Tack Room

pointydog · 09/01/2009 19:27

You've no sense of fun

SlightlyMadScientist · 09/01/2009 19:27

Actually teh Tack room I think would be just the right side of the "sensible/novelty" fence.

BTW I am not a horsey person....

fille · 09/01/2009 19:28

Yes, I can see how the dilemmas of horse owners are tantamount to breastfeeding/weaning struggles and behaviour issues.

pointydog · 09/01/2009 19:28

Me neither. But I am closely related to one.

stuffitllama · 09/01/2009 19:33

Sorry but I think this is a joke. Horses and chicken keeping but not vaccinations? Are we all ickle girls not to be allowed the tough subjects? Why? Why?

SlightlyMadScientist · 09/01/2009 19:33

I just think that it would look out of place to have 1 board which has a very novelty name...whilst the rest are sensible and "pure".

fair enough - some topics should remain serious - pg/childbirth/feeding....but if horsey is going to have a novelty name...so should some of the other boards.

Pixel · 09/01/2009 19:44

I don't mind Mumsnet Pony Club, 'cos I never got to join the real Pony Club . Does it mean we can have a summer camp, with midnight feasts and water fights?
