This is not a random blow up between otherwise close family members, where a longstanding stable and loving relationship allows everyone to say sorry and move on. It’s been a sustained and deliberate attack over several years on the Waleses, KC3 and Camilla, the monarchy and the UK. They will never be trusted. They certainly can’t represent the king as working royals. The Sussexes are so unpopular and so toxic that there is no benefit to the RF in having anything to do with them. It’s also quite clear that they would have no interest in repairing relationships if they hadn’t failed so comprehensively in the US. The desperation and self-interest is cringingly transparent.

This. Dog bowls, lip gloss, circumcision, baldness, etc could all be resolved and everyone moved on. Accusations of racism against the British royal family was incendiary and HAM bloody well knew it. Only because HAM were eventually shown to be toxic liars, did the RF recover from those horrible claims

In a couple of generations Andrew will be history, in the same way that George VI and Edward VIII are now.

The Windsor Duchy was specifically created, but no-one would say we shouldn't use the Prince of Wales title because David disgraced it. The Duchy of York is traditionally used for the second son.

Monarchy time is different to celebrity time.

No one would say the title King - which Edward also had - shouldn't be used either, and Edward's "misdemeanours" were committed when he was King.

Andrew is a different, far worse kettle of fish and it will be a long time before the title Duke of York is used again.

Can you imagine the eye rolling from the RF at the suggestion of an apology! 🙄

Bluebellcove · Yesterday 21:26

So 2 advent calendars.

  1. Someone has put a picture of their luxury house ( mansion) on it believing peiple will want to look at their wealth and open doors with chocolate in it.
  2. An affordable option that focuses on ‘advent’ - preparing for receiving Jesus, the Saviour.

Oh the irony. Number 1 is about a wealthy woman showing everyone what she can afford, but still wants £112 off a person to be even more wealthy than most people. Number 2 is about a baby born in poverty, placed in an animal trough. Number 2 is affordable to many and supports a charity - not providing money for one lady to wear 70k of jewellery in one go,

Apologies if someone has already linked and I've missed it - Sussexes tell the press they plan to apologise ...

It's the Express, so probably made up.

Soooooooooooooo - a week on from "school security scare - the kids are at risk and need taxpayer security" - Meghan is back to teasing Lilibet's appearance to sell gloopy jam 🙄

https://people.com/meghan-markle-shares-rare-listen-princess-lilibet-voice-new-home-video-12161110

This sort of instagram post is totally lost on me. I imagine it's intended to show a genuine, longstanding interest in building a business - basically showing that this brand is nothing to do with Harry, she always had it in her and she's going to pass it onto her daughter. Women's entrepreneurial spirit, like her mum's, I'm an independent woman supporting other women etc etc.

To me it looks like the most self-absorbed, narcissistic, hollow twaddle. It's not about the business, it's not about quality good or exceptional taste or market share or covetability or aspiration or business success. It's about Meghan, Meghan's brand, Meghan's image through the lens (see what I did there?) of an online-only, white label batch of random products that are all about the packaging and labeling. It's all back to front: she thinks people buying mediocre, overpriced tat because her face is on it is a reflection of her business acumen. In fact, it's a reflection of her appearance which has only come to prominence because of who she married and how she's kept herself relevant. The product IS Meghan, the vehicle is jam rather than what she'd have you believe (that the product is jam and she alone is the vehicle). None of this happened until after she married Harry and left the RF and made millions by doing so, all necessary precurours to launching this venture with the visibility she has. All she had to show for her entrepreneurial vision before her mid-30s, was The Tig, Girl Scout Cookies and scrunchies.

It's just weird. All of it.

Surely this has all gone way beyond "apologising" being the answer?

The damage is done, people have been put through hell ( esp KC, Catherine, the late Queen and PP) and some have died in the midst of the furore. The UK ‘s reputation was damaged too.

No apology is going to undo that. Actions speak louder than words and the HAMs need to live the private life they said they wanted and stop being a thorn in the side of H’s family. Perhaps they will do that, but moving back here seems an odd way to go about it.

I'll believe this when it happens, I doubt any 'apology' would be made on a public stage though, probably just a jovial couple of words in private. Hopefully they will be told where to stick their 'apology'.

TBF No. 2 charges a fairly eye-watering £6 delivery which doesn't quite make it a stonking 'hands up for Jesus'.

I'm reserving my tenner for a box of After Eights and a bottle of wine 😈

Agree completely, CoffeeCantata, but if the RF don't fall into lime soon there's nothing to stop H&M claiming they've apologised and trying to make them look bad for refusing to accept it

They've lied about so many things, why not that?

A public not a private apology is needed but also actions. Leave the UK. Let KC finish his reign in peace. Then let William ascend in peace. Never ever mention his family in public again. Accept that they have made their bed and there's no going back. Another gesture would be to give up their titles.

However, they will do the complete opposite

DaisyDooley · Yesterday 21:53

HaM could apologise until they were blue in the face, even singing the Calvin & Hobbes ‘I’m very sorry’ song while stood on the 4th plinth in Trafalgar Square and it will never ever be enough.
The thing which the RF value above all else -loyalty and trust- has been irrevocably broken. There is no way anybody in the RF could ever trust them again - how could you be sure that anything you said wasn’t going to be in the next book when they take off in a huff at a perceived slight/need money?
Ergo the Hamlets can not be allowed anywhere near the Wales children or the Tindalls/Phillips as A&L will be so influenced (naturally) by their parents that they too cannot be trusted. It’s just too risky.
It should never have happened but this is the path HaM have chosen and they chose it for their kids too.

The other thing I wanted to say is that you can donate (for £4.75) an advent calendar to a food bank which I think is a lovely touch. I did balk at the £6 postage fee though! £6! More than the calender! Hope the Leprosy Mission are suitably thankful ( my dad told me my fingers would fall off when I gave a woman with leprosy some money in Narobi in 1978 and l touched her stumps. I’ve just checked and they are all still there. Lying bastard.).

No, those with be the actions of people with integrity, who would never have ended up in their position in the first place.

I’ve just ordered two calendars. I hope many people do the same. I think it’s so funny that her nasty bullying ‘squad’ have managed to give this company so much free publicity, much more than M’s overpriced shit chocolate calendar will get. Well done the Sussex Squad - you’ve done a sterling job. 😂

Edited

They have dark chocolate advent calendars. I've looked for one for years.
I've ordered 4 and one milk and they have lovely cards too. Very happy with those.

Yes this really annoys me, I wanted some Christmas cards that depicted the nativity last Christmas not one of the major supermarkets stocked any, or any card shop, I eventually found some in my local garden centre, it really pissed me off.

Really? How extraordinary. I nearly always send cards with a Religious theme, I usually buy from charity sale held within a Church or from Church direct.
But I'm sure I've seen religious ones in every day outlets.

I’m sure that will be next, because they have so few options. But I don’t believe it will get them anywhere. BP will simply say, they are private citizens and we don’t comment on private family matters. Nobody wants them back, it’s not like they’ve got any real support, quite the opposite in fact, a closer relationship with such an unpopular and toxic pair would damage the RF. Charles will not want to hear booing on the Christmas morning walk to church.

Their behaviour wouldn’t wash in a normal family, let alone the royals, who value duty, loyalty, dignity, privacy, propriety. I can’t see how they could ever forgive how H+M treated PP and QE2 in their last years, and how they have spent years deliberately and maliciously undermining the reputation of the family and the country.
