That article says the racism allegation was the bad thing, but seems to imply that was it. There was So. Much. More. Have they just forgotten?

I heard it and thought that is fake. There's something odd about it - almost like a Disney voice.

I agree, it sounded weird to me the first time around.

HoldMyWine · Yesterday 20:41

Wasn’t it Meghan saying that Late would be eating humble pie when they returned?!

Will they explain why they lied?

Express apology story (non-archive)

Thank you.

So a big helping of humble pie hopefully followed by seconds of security?

Starryfifty · Yesterday 20:42

Throwing kids in for good measure. "Hoping A&L will connect with their cousins "

That's not what it says. It's not denied . They are saying it was a low blow and shouldn't have been brought up.

PleasantGreenPorcupine · Yesterday 20:44

They lied about the racism because it would make headlines, it would make them look like victims, it would make them money.

They are getting really desperate now. Too little, too late I think.

They can apologise all they like, and they should, but what was said can’t be unsaid. Where was their apology when Catherine was seriously ill?

As ever, it’s self interest at the heart of this. They’re just desperate to get back into the RF at any cost.

Starryfifty · Yesterday 20:46

Will they apologise for:
calling Camilla the villain of the piece?
inferring William didn't marry for love?
Catherine is cold?
Accusing his family of wanting him dead (security issue)?
Discussing his brothers circumcision? (WTF?)
Meg sending a gift basket to one of Catherine's trolls soon after he insinuated that she never had cancer?
Constant leaking, trolling (swan emoji) ?

@JudgeJ
I would be very surprised if he has been to Holkham, they came under a lot of fire when Kate was ill but it hadn't been announced, plenty of people were making spurious suggestions about William and the lady whose name I forget. If anyone wants to stay on the right side of William they will be avoiding AMW like the plague! I can confirm he has never had a turnip here, maybe we're not toffish enough!

I think you meant Houghton Hall. I believe the residents of Holkham Hall are more elderly 🙂

Tom and Polly Coke, Lord and Lady Leicester live at Holkham Hall. They are around 60. Apparently QE and the DoE used to spend New Years Eve at Holkham.

LookOutLookOutTomCruiseIsAbout · Yesterday 20:49

I think there is very little chance W+K would be interested in receiving an apology from Meghan, and even less chance that the cousins will have a meaningful relationship. W+K will not want that family anywhere near their children.

Their use of A+L to manipulate and emotionally blackmail is pretty repulsive but not at all surprising.

Can’t imagine the Sussex Squad will be too impressed by all the reverse ferreting

Yes this really annoys me, I wanted some Christmas cards that depicted the nativity last Christmas not one of the major supermarkets stocked any, or any card shop, I eventually found some in my local garden centre, it really pissed me off.

It really pisses me off too. I once complained to a charity I supported that I wouldn’t be buying any cards from them as not one of them contained the word Christmas. The following year they had produced a number of Merry Christmas cards.

'We are very sorry that you were so sensitive to what we said and took everything the wrong way.

We are sorry that meant that Archie and Lilibet have not had the royal opportunities they should have had.'

Starryfifty · Yesterday 20:59

It's recently enough H was telling the world he has no regrets and is expecting an apology

I'm still fuming that they closed the cafe next to the Victoria Hotel and turned it into more rooms, they did a lovely sausage roll!

I never knew the cafe but have stayed in the Ancient House as it is now. I’ve had a couple of lovely Christmas stays there.

Can we now?

Lots to shift.'

That calender is really pretty. I like the artwork on it.

My late mum used to get the Leprosy Mission calendar for DD. It's a lovely way to tell the Christmas story.

Starryfifty · Yesterday 21:09

If they apologise and nothing changes, what then? For example, no bells and whistles security (yes I know KC has no say but Harry doesn't realise that), no public photos of Meg and hamlets clinging to KC, royal events inclusion? Photos with hamlets and Wales kids? Do they rescind the apology?

LookOutLookOutTomCruiseIsAbout · Yesterday 21:09

This is not a random blow up between otherwise close family members, where a longstanding stable and loving relationship allows everyone to say sorry and move on. It’s been a sustained and deliberate attack over several years on the Waleses, KC3 and Camilla, the monarchy and the UK. They will never be trusted. They certainly can’t represent the king as working royals. The Sussexes are so unpopular and so toxic that there is no benefit to the RF in having anything to do with them. It’s also quite clear that they would have no interest in repairing relationships if they hadn’t failed so comprehensively in the US. The desperation and self-interest is cringingly transparent.

If there’s any truth in this at all then I feel for W and C. The last thing they need is showy “sorry, not sorries” from the HAMs.

I’ll believe it when I see it and not before.

Puzzledandpissedoff · Yesterday 21:14

The Express speculation is just that - speculation, and from a dubious source at that - but I don't know what value there'd be in any apology born of desperation rather than sincerity

Had to smile at the claim they're keeping cameras away though; are we really supposed to believe the pub images weren't set up?

Gonners · Yesterday 21:15

Surely this has all gone way beyond "apologising" being the answer?
