Do HAM not realise siding with CS (which it's quite obvious they are doing) ruins any chance their children have of a relationship with their grandfather??

Thedom · 20/09/2026 12:07

Do we believe the rumors M has taken herself back to the USA?

Not sure, guess we have to wait for the ✈️ or 🌴🌴or 🇺🇸 emojis to crop up in her Insta product promotion to be absolutely sure.

Wafflesandcoffee · 20/09/2026 12:13

Mylovelygreendress · 20/09/2026 09:02

But why would they want to bring down the very institution that HAM are desperate to be part of ? If rumours are true, they wanted A and L to be known by their titles at school 1 but were told first names only .
Is it not more that they are trying to force KC to letting them back by threatening a never ending series of “ truth bombs” either directly or by association and continuing with their faux Royal activities?
They need to be very careful as there is a LOT of digging around going on if we are to believe X( which I freely admit is often rubbish but there are facts scattered around!)

Just my opinion, but I think HandM are deluded enough to think they’d do a better job. That the monarchy needs modernising and they are the ones to do it. Probably not so much wanting to bring down the monarchy but the current monarch and 1st in line and his family.

Starryfifty · 20/09/2026 12:13

There's a clip on YouTube. H interviewed at ingriftus the other night. Puffed up, blowing about an eventful few weeks how they looking forward to getting back to work 🤔 I really wish the interviewer asked what exactly that entails but as usual, nothing

Whoopiedooo · 20/09/2026 12:15

The more I think about it the more an upcoming split/divorce seems to explain everything.
Specifically it explains why the unsettling start for the children as soon as they arrive seems so absurd that it must be intentional, not just for a newsworthy narrative, but so that they genuinely won't like it here. It's not unlikely that she led the school choosing etc.
Harry is doing his best with no support - she doesn't even accompany him to things that she normally would. His unsupported best is not going to be good enough, at least outside of Invictus. When he left the RF support behind he did so into an alternative power and decision structure, and would never have just stepped out on his own.
He probably knows he has to make this work but doesn't know how to, and she doesn't actually want him to so is the opposite of a help.

Posters saying she is waiting for the inheritance, do they mean waiting for KC to die? Or is there something else that Harry is entitled to at some future point that would feature in a divorce settlement or child support deal?
Would a divorce be under UK or USA jurisdiction, or is that the choice of the person who begins the process? Does Harry actually have income other than from KC or is it all capital?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/09/2026 12:17

Thanks for the clarity, @Thedom and @notimagain; I hadn't realised it was just the band who turned up, but still think it a regrettable choice - the more so with it being "Catherine's regiment"

And there doesn't seem any way of knowing where Meghan is, Thedom
I can quite see her not wanting to be associated with Harry's many failures (and with the upcoming WellChild I didn't think she usually attends?) but the longer she stays away the greater the musings will be

Whoopiedooo · 20/09/2026 12:17

I hope my questions are within the spirit of the thread. I only started about 3 threads back and am now struggling to leave the laptop for fear of having to catch up.
Really loving being here though so thank you Jeff and other obvious stalwarts.

I wonder if Invictus are telling Harry her presence is just adding more fuel to the fire. Invictus are getting a terrible rap. The majority of the comments on their SM are brutal about Harry and the funding, when Meghan arrives on Harry’s arm at Invictus events the negative noise increases dramatically.

AlexandraCarrington · 20/09/2026 12:31

What justification would there be for removing William? Other than that he got an extra sausage?

Changing the line of succession to exclude William, George, Charlotte and Louis would require Parliamentary legislation in the UK and in all the other countries which still have the King as Head of State. That's not going to happen, is it.

Starryfifty · 20/09/2026 12:32

I do think she will rock up to the well child awards. They don't acknowledge poor popularity ratings etc

That's their explanation for the RF not liking them, isn't it? They were doing the royalling better than the people more senior, and everyone was jealous.

I suspect the flounce was based on the expectation that they were needed so much the RF would have to their demands.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/09/2026 12:35

The inheritance thing's not very clear with royal wills being secret, @Whoopiedooo. I think it was said Harry was due something from the Queen Mother at 30 (or 40? ... can't remember) but am also pretty confident the RF will have arranged things to take account of what's now happening

if it comes to that I can also imagine a lot of horse trading over where any divorce takes place, though Harry changed his official place of residence to the US in 2024 and that may come into it

Trouble is, with every other opportunity gone Meghan needs her title and those of the kids, so it's watch this space

I wonder if Invictus are telling Harry her presence is just adding more fuel to the fire

Edited to add there's no knowing but I'd be surprised if they are, @Thedom
For a start we'd probably have had fireworks from the couple themselves over it, and there's no evidence so far of the board pulling them up on anything else

Starryfifty · 20/09/2026 12:32

Especially if it knocks W and C off the front page .

LaMarschallin · 20/09/2026 12:42

"I'm on my deceased sister's sons' side, both of them and if either of them wanted anything, then I'd be equally there for them."

Well, I can't imagine that William needs or wants anything from CS.
Harry is a different story and he may regret saying that.

AlexandraCarrington · 20/09/2026 12:47

Does Harry actually have income other than from KC or is it all capital?

His income will be the interest on his invested capital.

Capital will be from his various legacies plus whatever he got for Spare. Publisher will have paid him an advance for that, then no more until it had sold enough copies to cover the advance.

I don't suppose it did sell many after the initial rush, so don't suppose he's getting much in the way of royalties.

Band booked, band played...no mystery there.

The saluting has been covered by somebody upthread who has access to what looks like the current drill manual - H is still a member of the Royal Family, so he gets a salute, the letter didn't change anything with regard to that.

Can I just mention that eveyone has access to current regs. I’m not spilling state secrets Smile

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/5d5aaa46e5274a07640aefc7/TheQueensRegulationsfortheArmy1975.pdf

It covers everything from money lending, ammunition, padres, swords …. You name it there’s a reg for it and a link to the JSP!

As an aside you can see how fast the Army reacts to change! It’s still called Queen regs! The Royal Navy updated theirs to Kings Regs last year!

Apologies for thread derail!

Starryfifty · 20/09/2026 12:50

I do believe HAM were advised to keep Meg away from Ingriftus but unusual for them to listen to. Well child is perfect for Meg. Plenty of word salad drivel opportunities, discuss her own childhood (depending on which version she chooses to use)

Yes but it doesn't normally involve a highly public 3.5 mile walk.
It's a long way. Even aside from the funeral, I always find a walk in London more tiring than a walk in the country, I just looked at the map and thought that's a hell of a walk from Kensington Palace, to Westminster Abbey.
Apparently (according to AI, I haven't researched beyond that it was originally planned for one mile and then extended. They could have had the funeral party join at the one mile to go mark. I wonder whose idea it was to extend it. I'm thinking Tony Blair/Alistair Campbell.

Just catching up. Apologies if someone else pointed this out.

The full 3.5m route from KP went past BP where the Queen was. Then up the Mall where it paused at Clarence House for PC, PP, CS W & H to join. So they didn’t walk the full 3.5 mile route.

They actually walked up the Mall, under Admiralty Arch, down Whitehall to the Abbey - still a long way but probably the shortest they could reasonably make it.

The other options would have been to join at Admiralty Arch or the Cenotaph but I think it might have been thought “too short”.

WRT the funeral plans they used the Queen Mothers as a template - it was already on the rehearsal schedule and so ready to go. There was no other way you can get that many military personnel, police etc in place in such a short time and do it well.

Dear god that's straight out of Harry's own playbook: "I'm afraid of history repeating itself" Hmm

Though a ghastly man I've always believed this doesn't necessarily mean everything he says is wrong, but it really is starting to look like a concerted campaign, and frankly they both must be mad to choose the other

He's been Markled the fool.

I think Harry needs to know he is also unpopular and it’s not just Meghan. He can’t say oh it’s misogyny, it’s just racism as to why it’s not going down well

Very true. He will struggle to claim any victim status as a white, highly privileged man. H does look dire these days, he doesn't look professional or remotely attractive and he must have previously benefitted from the RF image team.

Do we believe the rumors M has taken herself back to the USA?

Do we believe the rumors M has taken herself back to the USA?

Well, she COULD have done, there have been no recent photos of her that I've seen. However, with her kids starting at TWO new schools in the past two weeks, I suspect she's just holed up on Wace's estate and not sticking her head above the parapet until they've decided what they're going to do. Will they stay or will the fuck off again (please God let it be the latter!!)

Article in the DM yesterday saying that 'sources close to the Sussexes' say that they could be back in Montecito by half-term if they don't get their security reinstated. Harry is apparently 100% certain that they will and that they've done enough to prove that they need it. They're apparently not house hunting, which backs up this story - if they were committed to staying surely they would be?

Kirschcherries · 20/09/2026 13:12

The BBC keep playing the clip of CS talking about H&M. CS is trying to say he supports both W & H but the language he uses is unusual like he’s really making an effort not to forget W.

PlotTwistPending · 20/09/2026 13:12

I just cannot believe the audacity of Meghan putting a swan emoji on her latest post! What the fuck is wrong with her?

Every time they I think they can’t sink any further, they do!

I mean what does she think will happen? I’m beginning to think she is trolling the UK! It’s a never ending soap opera!

There is no way they can last 12 months here in the UK. Surely they are social pariahs?

Waiting with interest to see if she turns up to the WellChild event tomorrow. Wish we could do poll. My money is on No - she won’t attend.

Yes I think so. They vastly overestimated their popularity and how much they were needed. I have just looked up their statement in 2020 which said:

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role in the institution”.

They obviously thought they were in a stronger position than they were as at this point they were not talking about leaving, they were just dictating to the rest of the RF how it was going to be going forward. I think they were so deluded about how indispensable they were that the RF would have no choice but to go along with it.
