That's fair enough but it's what's grabbing the headlines at the moment. However it's that Well Child event on on Tuesday I think. I wonder if Meghan will make an appearance. I expect so. Will she grab the mike and push in. Maybe!

Edited

I'm kind of surprised we didn't see her at the Invictus event. I know it wasn't really a 'plus one' sort of event but that's never stopped our Duchess before. I don't buy the 'settling the kids' either. Again, that type of thing has never cramped her style before. It will be interesting to see if she turns up to Well Child.

Do you think there's a chance that just MAYBE, just POSSIBLY, she has realised that she is not actually welcome?

I do wonder with both of them if they look back and cringe on things that have landed badly (I suspect not). I mean, any normal person would look back on footage of them "marching" (=wandering along) in a playsuit in front of veterans who were supposed to be the focus of the event and would cringe themselves inside-out, surely? It would be one of those things you'd revisit when you wake up at 3am full of existential dread?

There's been so much talk about W&H walking behind the coffin that I've been racking my brains trying to remember how the announcement that they would do this was reported at the time. Does anyone remember the press/public reaction to the news? Were people horrified at the thought of it (like many seem to be now)? Or did they think it was a fitting tribute to their mother? I wish I could remember.

I remember that they stayed up in Balmoral and then there was Tony Blair and the media calling for them to come down and see to "Their People".
It was presented as a triumph that "they'd" got the agreement that the Princes would walk behind the coffin, because I remember dm being totally disgusted with the decision and felt they'd been bullied into it.
She refused to watch the funeral because of that, although she came into the room where I was watching and burst into tears when she saw the flower "Mummy" that the Princes had given.

It was very much a feeling that the RF "owed" it to be seen.

If I still had my diary from that time I remember writing quite a bit on the change of heart in the papers.

C and W are attending a film premiere on Tuesday so if M doesn’t attend the Well child event in an attempt to grab headlines, then I will be even more convinced she isn’t in the U.K. .

Possible explanations. She knows she's unpopular and fears booing. She knows H is spiralling and doesn't want to be humiliated with him. She's maintaining an air of mystery to keep everyone guessing. She has some grand plan of her own. She's happy being incognito because she doesn't feel in charge in the UK. She too has a white powder problem. She has a UK lover. She'd rather be with Marcus.

Typo

CS has accused KC of gaslighting him !
Probably more suited to another thread but not sure I am brave enough.

That's the thing though.

They're not 'normal people'. They don't have even the minimal ability to introspect or be self critical. Hence them making the same mistakes over and over again. It's great entertainment for us though!

I am rolling in the rug in cringerama embarrassment for him. David Brent crossed with a “fun uncle” and “I’m down wid de kidz, me” - shudder 🫣

Totally agree that Lili looks like a nit magnet. Ds had similar hair (yes, I was that silly mother whose ds had flowing locks - boy, am I in trouble now “I looked like a home-schooled freak!”) and many an hour was spent combing and many ££££ on Hedrin.

Do you want to clarify your "freak" comment? Or reassure us that you encouraged your DS not to make such unkind comments about others?

Yes, not great language, is it?

I don't really see how Diana can be kept out of it as a lot of the issues stem from the way the royals and Charles treated Diana and Harrys problems and trauma dating back to his mothers death. And the part Camilla played in it too.

How come William doesn't behave as badly then? I think there comes a point where a middle aged man decides to take control of his life and move forward.

twosmallaxolotls · 19/09/2026 21:59

Mylovelygreendress · 19/09/2026 20:58

What do you expect his father to do ?

Oh it's never Harry's fault. His Dad needs to step in/he's been traumatised, yadda yadda

What a shame there's never been an eyeroll reaction available. Yes, @Harshreality , that's the sort of thing that teenagers say. Live with it. And prepare your (presumably homeschooled) kids for it.

The King holds the title Seigneur of the Swans and is the owner of all unmarked wild mute swans.

Riposte - "Swans are universal " 😂

That story has been around for a while alongside photos of an alleged pregnant Meghan but it was only ever on X .
Interesting that it has been picked up by a tabloid.

oldsainsburysbag · 19/09/2026 22:28

Just went to the Nau.ch site and couldn’t find the story at all so it looks like it really is still just on X

Meghan could be referencing the Danny Kaye Ugly Duckling song theme (Google the lyrics). It's about transformation. Or, she sees herself as Odette/Odiile in the Swan Lake story. But, prob a bit too subtle.

Or Proust's Swann minus an 'n', because she had read all of 'A la recherche de temps perdu', translated it into Portuguese, been awarded the Légion d'honneur' for services to the French language and been invited to the Élysee Palace by Giscard D'Estaing, who said 'The French danced up and down the Tour Eiffel on Bastille Day with joy at the brilliance of your language skills, so rare in an American'.

Sorry to veer off thread again but I can’t face some of the others.
Even Diana’s chef has weighed in on Instagram and the best bit is India Hicks and Ella Mountbatten have liked it. 😉

I don't understand the post by Monique? Can you explain? Thanks 👍🏼

Anotherusername123456 · 19/09/2026 22:33

Yes i said it before. I am going to say it again. Jason arday killed himself. He absolutely brought it on himself. He lied and lied and lied. He was a very tragic person with a personality disorder. Harry also has some sort of personality disorder. And probable addiction. And has a very rich family who could hopefully help. Maybe they can’t. Being a rich family doesn’t always mean they can help. But we need to not trash him. It doesn’t help.

Anotherusername123456 · 19/09/2026 22:34

He is literally tragic. We need to stop it.

I don't think we questioned it - it was pretty much expected, as I remember. It has become a much bigger deal in subsequent years.

I don’t think the various universities that failed to do due diligence or maintain standards are blameless over Arday’s death. Arday needed someone to be truthful with him decades ago about his real ability and his story telling. Indulging fantasies do not lead to happy outcomes.
