This was at an event this week. But the photo just made me gasp. It looks like the elderly woman is being used as a prop, rather than being treated in a dignified way.

Yeah. Probably busy with legal paperwork.

Hopefully applying for retrospective world-wide rights to use the photo 😬

The OP posted a photo that was in the public domain and stated her view. I don't agree it was inappropriate in any way to do that, people post these kinds of things all the time including on MN. But apparently the royal family members must be coddled & protected from any kind of criticism

They must? Sounds a tad dramatic, but ok.
Can we mention their teeth?.

Where other than the Reuters site and the very anti W&K Reddit sub was it in the public domain? I’m going to hazard a guess she copied it over from Reddit with the explicit intention to provoke “gasping” and ire from likeminded people on here. She’s scarpered because it didn’t go to plan

No one is doing that. Posters are just finding it hilarious that the OP has made a cock up by insisting that the photo demonstrates something that it clearly does not, and then further made a fool of themselves by insinuating that there must be more than one person who looks the same etc. Bad day at the office

They should be thanking @jeffgoldblumfor pointing that out. I think she's an expert in copyright law.

Only with a trigger warning. Think of the teethphobes 😬

Don't be daft!

You can't seriously think this was a good idea for a thread? Can you?

Trying to turn it back on the posters who've pointed out the obvious stupidity of the thread isn't going to work. Criticise members of the royal family all you want. It's a free country. But this photo does not provide any basis for criticism whatsoever. If you can't see that this was a bizarre idea for a thread, maybe take another look.

Yep ! In line with my comments earlier about copyright, I have checked and that photo hasn’t been published officially anywhere that I can find apart from on the official rueters website ( with payment information) Reddit and here .

It's not a well documented problem. Do you think it just applies to royal teeth?

Honestly the other photos look like a different woman. Is it really the same woman?

You you think they only have one type of coat and scarf on Bute?

Good work! So.... not "in the public domain" ? 🙄

I wouldn’t go as far as saying I’m an expert but I am very familiar with it.

Maybe only immensely privileged billionaire teeth, now I come to think about it 🤔

Not that I can currently discover through searching.

It has a name, apparently “odontophobia”. Maybe when it applies to royal teeth it is “odontophobia rex”

Good one! 🤣 I wonder if it qualifies you for attendance allowance? That's got to be a disadvantage in life.

Same hair, same coat, same scarf, same height, same skin tone, W&C stood in exactly the same position. Probably just a coincidence though.

Thick as a submarine window.
