Inappropriate photo op for William and catherine

This was at an event this week. But the photo just made me gasp. It looks like the elderly woman is being used as a prop, rather than being treated in a dignified way.

Let them crack on with their nonsense.

They have shown themselves up good and proper.

I suppose at least this one isn’t doubling down on it, doing the usual whataboutery or gasping…

damnatiomemoriae · 02/10/2026 09:36

Catherine? A nonentity?

Better than being an arsehole I suppose… 🤷🏽‍♂️

I think that poster is just jealous 😉

What a bizarre post. You get fouled because someone has decided to commit a foul on you, or makes an error that fouls you. It has absolutely nothing to do with how good or bad a player you are. There’s no correlation between footballing prowess and the number of fouls committed on you.

That coach was simply trying to be nice to an upset child by spinning her a line, in the same way as posters on here say ‘Ignore her — she’s just jealous!’ on absolutely no evidence when someone behaves coldly to an upset poster.

The PoW is just a well-behaved nonentity doing her job. Which is to be a well-behaved nonentity who must never breathe a hint of personality, personal politics, quirks or oddities. She’s doing admirably.

Better than being a greedy, grasping, entitled and dishonest publicity seeker.
Funny how you describe Catherine as a "nonentity" when she's so famous though. 🤔

damnatiomemoriae · 02/10/2026 09:48

Indeed @OlympicWomen 🤔

Made me gasp a bit that 😳

I'm also gasping at the jealousy on here. Imagine having literally nothing to attack a person with apart from misrepresented images.

Absolutely this!

I went to my Craft Group yesterday and, for a long time, the ladies were discussing Catherine's visit to the OAP luncheon club in Sussex. Everyone was full of praise for the lovely way she handled the whole event, even lingering outside for ages to stroke a dog and interact with some little toddlers.

When you think of the lengths H&M went to, to avoid riding on a minibus with the other junior royals to HMQE's Platinum Jubilee Service, yet Catherine was happy to ride in the minibus to the daycentre

That's because she's not arrogant. I doubt she got someone to introduce her, using her title.

It's just occurred to me ~ Catherine has probably spent more time in Sussex this week than the Dook & Dookess of Sussex did whilst they were still 'working royals'

Ah, their time as working royals was very short wasn't it? Too much for them. Funny how "a nonentity" has been able to crack on with it for 15 years and counting.

damnatiomemoriae · 02/10/2026 10:02

Oh now that’s a tiny bit unfair.

I’m sure they would have managed it perfectly well if they were paid for it.

Thank you for your insight into why this little girl was fouled, which is obviously much more valuable than the opinion of her actual coach who saw it happen.

Surely as a football expert you must have seen defenders bring down forwards who otherwise would go past them. You must have heard commentators talk about how the ref needs to protect certain superstars who are running rings around the opposition. Try telling Messi that the reason he gets fouled all the time is because of ‘errors’ and nothing to do with how unplayable he is within the rules 🤔

damnatiomemoriae · 02/10/2026 10:50

And those who have plenty of negative things to say about Messi - because they are not supporting/on the same team.

Far easier to disparage what everyone can see is not the case eh?

I see the line being spun part. Unlike your football coach story, there is not anything nice about it.

Lol at the double standards about posting images..meanwhile on the PR threads people make images up of H&M and post them and nothing is said by the very same people here who feel its so disgusting OP posted the image they did.

Post pics of them when they were visiting hospitals and crying how they are using sick children and its so wrong yet if the Wales do the same its perfectly fine. Not a word is said.

If MNHQ are allowing the thread to stand its not breaking their guidelines. Like a pack of wolves berating OP.

No-one on the PR threads has.made up images of H&M
That is not true.

OlympicWomen · 02/10/2026 11:36

So, @lipgloss, no double standards at all. This thread is based on a lie, MN have allowed it to stand. It doesn't make it acceptable in any sense.
Errata: wrong poster, got @LipglossAndLies confused with @OneLilacHedgehog

The difference is that Meghan was using sick children, quite openly, there’s surely no problem with commenting on that. Whereas this OP went looking for the worst photo she could find of some poor unsuspecting elderly woman, and used it to accuse the PPoW of being inappropriate, which they clearly weren’t. And when challenged, tried to contend that she hadn’t picked a dodgy photo because the nice ones were of a different woman, who amazingly had the same face and hair, was wearing the same coat and also had her photo taken with the PPoW on Bute that day. Desperate stuff.

TheOvertGardener · 02/10/2026 11:44

@LipglossAndLies In this case, it’s the OP and you now attempting to use this woman for your purposes.

OlympicWomen · 02/10/2026 11:44

Oh yeah, the confusion about the elderly woman.....

OlympicWomen · 02/10/2026 11:46

That's @OneLilacHedgehogand @diggrrtwho have decided to use manipulated or unflattering images of vulnerable elderly people...in order to make William and Kate look bad.
That's not only cruel, it's a bit desperate.

Lol at the double standards?

Pleasw provide an example where someone has deliberately chosen the worst photo in a sequence of a member of the public when H&M have been involved? Because that is what we are contesting here.

I can’t recall any but as you say you know better and I’d love to see it.
