Kate & The Middletons

I am currently reading Russsll Myers Catherine & William. Enjoying it but one thing that stands out is how the Middletons have never put a foot wrong.
Carole was not from an aristocratic background nor was Michael but they raised their kids not to put a step wrong. Kate also had embarrassing family members (Uncle Gary) but she still invited him to the wedding which was the right thing to do & it nipped the media scandal in the bud & took the wind out of any sails.. Meghan invited none of her extended family or her dad & it caused massive media speculation.
Kate was born for royal life & is a natural. Very proud of our future queen. Her parents did an amazing job.

You were the one defending name calling.

Abbreviating Harry and Meghan to HAM?
Guilty.

Hamlet? Well, if you are going to refer to the children then describing them as little Harry and Meghan…

Yeah on second thought, it’s definitely not a compliment and I doubt they are anything like their parents. So I see your point.

Where did they do that?

They just throw dirt to see if it sticks. Doesn’t bother me in this case. Everyone will know. When it’s saying I broke talk guidelines I report it.

CurlewKate · 30/09/2026 18:13

Tabbytiger122 · 30/09/2026 16:34

The same person @CurlewKate who wants to call our future queen "Middleton" also wanted to name Catherine's children the "cawvids", such silly carry on

Edited

I only coined Cawvid to point out the utter hypocrisy of a nickname for the Sussex children and not for the Wales. But it appears not to be hypocritical because Hamlet is “adorable”

Noni called everyone out for name calling. I did say you could know just talk about the royals without name calling.
I thought the name calling discussion was incredibly childish.

Cawvid is shitty

Ham and Hamlet is shitty.
Just don't name call. It's simple

TheOvertGardener · 30/09/2026 18:16

There’s a difference between innocuous nicknames, initials and abbreviations and namecalling.

There is childishness here. We agree on that.

Please explain exactly why it is shitty?

And why cawvids isn’t?

Because from what I’ve seen, you’ve had very little to say about that.

How do you feel about people doubting the fact that Catherine had cancer ?

LipglossAndLies · 30/09/2026 19:21

Still a school playground I see and tit for tat comments keeping the two women in a perpetual competition 🙄

DogsandFlowers · 30/09/2026 19:45

Tabbytiger122 · 18/09/2026 06:37

Kate is recovering from cancer. She was always very slim. Good genes from her mother who is also very slim as is Pippa.
Even during her school days Kste was mocked in her old school for being very slim..

Are you Kate’s publicist by chance? Or on the PR team for this book 😂😂

CathyorClaire · 30/09/2026 20:14

Banjas · 30/09/2026 12:47

Thank you @CathyorClaire
Very interesting reading.
Did they change from a “partnership” as they weren’t personally liable and kept their house etc ?

It is, isn't it?

The change from a partnership (unlimited liability) of decades to a limited liability company came about in 2019 and an administrator was appointed in 2023 although even that bill didn't get paid

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/carole-michael-middleton-unable-pay-32497360

Partnership accounts aren't publicly available so there's no evidence as to the health of the company pre 2020 but according to the company accounts the limited company was making a loss throughout the few years it was trading.

What we do know is the £2.6m debt included a £219K taxpayer funded Covid loan and £600k owed to HMRC so the public purse got stiffed for the better part of a million along with the small creditors.

Another article worth reading here

I wouldn’t call them any of these names ,
but why is it ok to call H&M and their children silly names. But not the Wales’ ?

Ham aren't our future King & Queen! William & Catherine are!

No you didn't, you invented the weird monkier "cawvids" for the Wales children & then said you were going to start calling their mother, our future queen "Middleton"..
Stop trying to backtrack the hypocrisy is insane!

jeffgoldblum · 30/09/2026 23:52

I’m confused…ham is simply an abbreviation of h and m ….and has everyone forgotten about the constant….I thought it was h and m the clothes store? , it’s rare that enough combined conversation about William and Catherine together needs such a shortening, however I would point out to all those and particularly one ….everyday Catherine is called “Kate” that isn’t the name she wants to be known as but still it’s used , if you have no issues with that but are complaining about these …..why? …..it’s hypocritical!…..you know this!……🙄

Nope. But you have decided, so who am I to point out that your analysis is completely wrong and bears no relation to why I actually said.

Sounds a great deal like you attributing malice to the nickname Hamlet.

Jimsaidpeoplearestrange · 01/10/2026 07:59

And cawvid was coined by a poster who apparently questioned whether their mother had cancer. You seemed ok with that.

I have not seen that on this thread.

I don’t agree with calling her Markle. I see nothing wrong in calling her Meghan Markle though. Everyone will be aware who it is.

I suppose though that many thousands of service personnel have been addressed by their surname for decades if not centuries.

Maybe she was just ‘Markle’ for marching with the veterans?

I think she deserves to be called much worse than 'Markle'!
