Ah, the days of the modest "Just call me 'Harry'" are long gone.
Now he has to remind people he's a "Prince of England" and a duke.

Strip him of all titles. He'll be much safer then

Thanks blue, then why is he banging on about IPP status? Who decides that ? (Of course i know we are not dealing with a sound mind here)

When and where has he banged on about IPP status? My recollection is that he stated it in his first issue press release in 2020 when announcing he was leaving the RF - but then edited that version to remove it as he realised its not within UK Government remit to apply it unilaterally. Not aware he has mentioned IPP status since?

Yes, I think this is the problem.

The strange thing is, though, he does seem to have managed to slip in and out of the UK fairly discreetly. Take the visit in July. Yes they leaked that they were coming and we had the whole will they, won’t they debacle, but they were actually here and no one was any the wiser about their arrival. It all a bit of a double standard if you will. They do know how to be discreet but choose not to be at times 🤷‍♀️

I have a crazy theory that they are angling for a move to Windsor and to get the children into Lambrook as it is a known quantity from a security perspective. They also know it would infuriate William.

I think this too!
It won’t happen obviously, but they are trying to make it happen.

The Obamas don’t have IPP status.

You're right, sorry - they have US protection under special Federal funding. So he wants more than the Obamas.

^^

This 100%.

Even from what they've posted on Social Media it looks like they've been in/out of the UK flying commercially, in M's case probably more than once, in 2026.

So if the kids were only at school for a day or two(?), I'm guessing there was always a back up school?

Which the kids are now at?

So is the school they were at always "difficult" to get to or just the direction they would be coming from?

I mean usually people with their money would be able to co ordinate things wouldn't they?

Maybe harder if you're relying on others for housing!

Will the kids change schools again if they have to house themselves?

I doubt they are staying for very long - that’s MM plan - doubt her delusional STBXH has clocked this yet - they won’t buy anything here - just rinse their mates for sufficient time to douse their DCs in Royal Glitter - Christmas Sandringham Walk with pops, holiday in Balmoral and a song and dance for 30th anniversary of Diana’s death should be enough - then MM will take her DCs back to sunny Cali and leave her dysfunctional dud of a STBXH behind.

Because William does.

I'm not even sure that he does. Harry certainly does not, and never has.

But he won't ever shut up about it.

LaMarschallin · 16/09/2026 10:35

I wonder where the children's wishes are in all of this.
I know the narrative is always pushed about their young family in order to suggest HAM are young parents (they're really not) and yes, 5 & 7 are both young ages.
But they're not babies or toddlers.
They're able to have opinions about being taken out of one school in the US, brought to another school in another country, then, two days later, taken out of that one and apparently put in yet another. Doubtless they had friends in their first school. I suppose they barely had time to make any contact in the next one.
It must be so strange for them and quite stressful.
I'm sure a lot of us remember how carefully our children's first day at school was planned to make the change easier and a good experience - it's a big milestone in a child's life.

William does have IPP status because he is heir and could become king and HoS at any moment, anywhere if his father were to die suddenly. Which I think underlines why Harry isn’t, much to his chagrin 😆

SanguineAutumnalCrow · 16/09/2026 10:42

@Mencia, that story about Felipe’s PPO’s interest being sparked by his university lectures, and doing the degree alongside him, echoes the experience of Charles and his PPO at Cambridge.

Apparently Charles’s PPO was awarded a First in (I think) Archaeology & Anthropology.

(By contrast, Harry’s bodyguards are probably bored witless and/or quite proficient on CoD for X-Box.)

bluegreygreen · 16/09/2026 10:42

Harry mentioned IPP status in the initial statement on the Sussex Royal Instagram page (which was rapidly retracted).

Following that, it was mentioned during his court case against the Home Office.

He hasn't mentioned it in public otherwise - his comments have all been more general.

By strict definition, Harry probably had IPP status for the period of his royal tours (eg in S Africa and Australia), as he was representing the monarch abroad.

No, that's an urban myth, debunked by Cambridge University. His PPO did not sit any exams and was not awarded a degree.

I am not a security professional, or a high profile public figure. If I were, there is no way I would use my own private number to join a school WhatsApp group, or allow my principal to do so. Assuming Meghan’s security team are remotely competent (and knowing this is not their first rodeo - Archie was at school in Montecito) then it’s very unlikely this was her actual personal phone number.

And yes to the parental discretion. One of my children was for a few years in the same class as the child of a celebrity couple, both of whom were on tv and one of whom was a genuine household name. The mother was part of the class WhatsApp group. Everyone completely respected their privacy.

Absolutely. You don't have to be a highly paid security expert to know not to share your private phone number with strangers if you're someone so at risk that your children need to be driven to school in a multi vehicle convoy.

How is it they managed in school in Montecito for years with no issues? Yet all these problems and it's not even been a week? I have no doubt that all these 'issues' are being orchestrated by the Sussexes themselves. It's the near catastrophic car chase all over again.

Bummer - I liked the thought of a royal PPO versed in the structuralisme of old Cantab.

You know that would never happen right?

The schools educating the George, Charlotte and Louis will always put these children and their family's interests and needs first.

I'm afraid, Archie and Lili will never set foot into Lambrook, Eton and wherever Charlotte and Louis will attend.

That one is a done deal.

One reason for the above is that the HaM will be considered an actual security risk for those ahead of them in the LoS so wouldn't ever let them move in the same social settings as the Walse kids. There are other reasons too.

Could you imagine the scandal if they tried to enrol their kids and were refused ! I think they would blow the school out of the water if that happened.

Christ almighty. This pair do absolutely nothing for the UK or indeed anywhere

If only doing nothing for us was the only problem.
They actively damage our country both at home and internationally.

Yes, this is the problem. They're not some harmless idiots, they're damaging and dangerous.

Choux · 16/09/2026 10:57

If there is no space at Lambrook or another school the Sussexes want their kids to go to then there is no space. Popular schools are unlikely to have a space available in both A and L’s years especially once term has started.

Whoopiedooo · 16/09/2026 10:57

Drama llamas should go home and get a job. By home I mean back where they and their children were settled, or if that has become impossible for some reason, to somewhere they own a home and can be settled (Portugal?). I think it is very clear that where they are at now is not intended to be settled. Poor kids.

So, I get the allusions to a potential divorce - would M be able to take the kids away with her?
I don't get the other thing though about maybe the RF want him here before some news breaks and he needs immunity. What's that all about?
