A continuation of the shenanigans of our favourite non working royals! 😁

Lots of chatter on X that it was definitely this article which pushed the Palace to release the letter to the media. It's not just the assertion that MM plans to pick up her old patronages, but the rather sinister (and arrogant, as per) confirmation that they are planning to set up their own version of the Royal rota.

It is understood that Meghan, 45, and Harry, 41, and their team will consider creating a new “framework that is fair” for media access to their engagements and coverage of their public work.

Yes, I suspect that's what happened. As H&M were busy cultivating a quasi royal role, it's best to firmly put a stop to it. I think Meghan's Smart Works is a case in point, it looks like they were trying to pick up where they left off.

They absolutely were going to do that. Behave as royals but doing their own thing. Now there's a spanner in the works. I think there could be a compromise re security and the children will be given security. Which I could understand as they've not asked for this mess created by their parents.

When they first left Harry got paid $1million for his first speech. He wittered on about himself and his dead mother.
Fast forward to last year - he got paid $50,000 ( Australian dollars ) for a speech which didn’t sell all of the tickets.
How much would people pay to hear him here! Their ‘brand’ is utterly tainted. No company /organisation will want to pay out big money when he is considered so toxic.

Yes, it's not a long term strategy is it?

They are trying to get relevance and more ‘public profile’ to re-energise commercial offerings. In short, tjey are looking to re-fresh their brand positioning because the jams are not going to make them millionaires. Harry must be bored out of his mind too with nothing to do in the US apart from cameo appearances on the wife’s jam making sessions.

I agree.

I think there is also a huge dollop of needing adulation, plus showing the RF that they are better at RFing

That was certainly the section that suggested setting up a faux royal rota to me. Clarification is important.

That's not how security is allocated.
It's not about the person, it's about the risk.
If there's a risk to the children, they'll get taxpayer funded protection. If not, they won't. It's decided by professionals in the field.

They already do that with their UK WhatsApp group tho and their emails directly to Closer and PageSix - that’s just a basic PR strategy to nurture media outlets friendly to you.

Not really because the royal rota is about reporting on royal events. They're promoting themselves
They certainly love to court publicity!

Sereine · 09/09/2026 09:17

I wonder how many charities are really going to want these two as patrons? No many how people might feel about them individually, surely they would have to be quite concerned that they could be putting donors and sponsors off? They would be better off simply offering to do some volunteering and putting in the hard graft before looking for more high profile positions.

But they have their own security ?

I am sure there are a good number of business networking organisations who would pay a few thousand to have him along as an after dinner speaker. The problem for H is that he would not be being invited as a serious figure, but rather as someone who people laugh at behind their backs.

It's all a bit reminiscent of Diana in later years. There used to be a bit of a dark joke that, whenever there was a major disaster, the RF had to move pretty quickly because Diana would be desperate to get there first, and would make sure there were plenty of photographs of her looking caring at the bedsides of victims in hospital.

Oh my god, I remember!
I also remember people making badges "No Diana Please" in the event of being admitted to hospital!

Yes, it's not a long term strategy is it?

But their short term strategy is to get back to those heady days of $1million speaker fees, multimillion dollar deals with the likes of NF, Spotify, PRH - they just need a quick dip in the royal glitter and a refresh / reminder of their royal adjacency for the cash to come rolling back in.

However I suspect that once the penny drops that this isnt happening they will revert to type and do a repeat flounce and shit talking escapade - OW, Ellen, NF etc will all come scuttling back for the $$$.

Yes, true. Diminishing returns, though.

There will always be some low level charity that will harness their notoriety to raise their own profile - same as the ‘friends’ they will be seen with Z list bottom feeder influencers. They will be used I think.

I'm trying on my first MN "Wow. Just wow" for size in response to reading that.
That actually looks like a manifesto for their return, written by HAM.
trying to buy pencil cases without being spotted 🙄.
Certainly that stance has softened is ambiguous: whose stance? HAMs' or the RF's?
And Meghan is thinking about plans for how she can get more involved and support the causes she was supporting and was passionate about again, and new causes too. She wants to pick up with a lot of people.
Is she now?
That article certainly could have been enough to initiate the recent letter, imo.

That’s not their MO at all. They show up, get photographed, and fuck off.
All about their profile, no thought for the charity concerned whatsoever.
