A continuation of the shenanigans of our favourite non working royals! 😁

Yes I’m going hoping this will nip that nonsense in the bud, the press with this “rival court” line has been growing legs, the statement has made a lot of them look very foolish indeed.

It's very damaging. It's damaging to the Head of State and therefore the UK government.
They cannot be allowed to set up a rival court, call themselves working royals and expect to pick up where they left off.

Horse sanctuary volunteer: I've got some PR intern of Prince Harry on the phone. They want a photo op with the horses.
Director: Half of them ate

Hello everyone (what happened to the last thread? It fair scampered!) 👋

“Events, dear boy/girl, events!” To misquote Harold MacMillan!

MamaRoly · Today 19:41

De-lurking to comment for once as the KC letter was a blinder!

Apart from the fact that this letter was stating the obvious and was a clarification of the situation... worded in such a way to remind everyone that this is what H&M wanted...... what struck me was the phrase as they wanted which reminded me of the King Edward radio abdication speech.

Anyway back to me reading without comment, as you were! (Love these threads, they are my guilty pleasure!)

Hi! Just made it to the new thread!

Posted too soon - sorry.

polo pony refugees. They could be traumatized.

Volunteer: No problem, the king said to treat them like ordinary people. I will just leave them on hold indefinitely and brew a pot of tea. Every time they call.

Director: Great. I've got biscuits.

And the tax payer to pick up the bill……

I've had images in my head of Meghan tapping furiously away at a shoddy local authority portal for a late reception application and in year transfer online forms and hitting refresh to find out if there was availability in their first choice 😅

<Refresh> "Third choice over-subscribed" 😱

drivinmecrazy · Today 19:46

I must admit that I do feel a tad sorry for them, although it has all been of their own making.
Can’t be easy to be publicly put in your place by your father and sovereign.
Only what they deserve but I hope that they finally find peace as ordinary private citizens.
Having said that it’s quite a fall off a gargantuan cliff.
Here for the 🍿

Thanks very much for this new thread @jeffgoldblum 😊

I also think it was very well done in reminding people that nothing has changed. All these things were settled in 2020, so, no KC isn't being mean, he's just sticking to what was already the position.

[I also always enjoy this type of very formal, but very loaded language. It's an art form.]

Don’t feel badly. They don’t experience things the way you and I do and will not be feeling any shame over it. They’ll twist it on their heads to be not about them, not their fault, etc.

BigWillyLittleTodger · Today 19:52

I hope this statement shuts the door firmly on these “private citizens” getting round the clock tax payer funded 24/7 armed security for the rest of their lives. It would be very hard for any government to award them this now after KC’s very clear statement.

The Charles to Trump speech was enjoyable for that reason. Trump missed all of the nuance.

That’s leadership, done with character and without cruelty. Same as this letter.

Oh I think their will be a lot of gnashing of teeth, there was an article a few weeks back when an ex staff member said how Meghan reads stuff that isn’t complimentary she takes to her bed or something, wish I could remember which article so could quote it!

smilesy · Today 19:57

Thanks for the new thread @jeffgoldblum. Have to admit I read the title as “Hamper disaster” initially and wondered what had gone awry with a picnic basket 😬

Well, she's very silly. Imagine if William or KC did that, or Kate read those awful threads on here when she had cancer?
Not wise.

Agree.

I do wonder however, just how many requests for clarification they have received and if they are aware of HAM going all out pitching their wares to all and sundry.

in that vein anyone any idea what H was doing at Tower Studios today though I guess this evening he is busy sulking about Daddy’s letter, while M crafts the latest version of “service is universal” clapback.

Thanks for the new thread @jeffgoldblum

I think that Markle will totally get the 'subtle language' in KC's statement. Harry won't. And she's not about to explain it to him, either.

Consider how HAM love to air dirty laundry, 'Hamper disaster' would have been equally apropos.

I look at BBC text for news headlines and was very pleased to see this. The first time I saw it the third page listed some of the recipients e.g. government. The statement was put out by the Lord Chancellor.
The third page has been altered now and it's about a photo of Harry.
Still not HRHs. I shall not take any notice of anyone who tries to call them HRH.
