Well I'm back from a lovely trip to France, I had said I would go on an Internet detox - I can't say I totally stayed off it, scrolling X from time to time and having the occasional dip into these threads, but I read my book, ate lots, went to some lovely restaurants, swam in the sea and dozed in the sun and mostly stayed away.
These threads have certainly moved at a pace over the last week or two.
On the subject of security I wanted to point out what has happened to the Webber family and the families of the other victims of the Nottingham stabbing, for anyone who missed this news.

I am furious. Our son was murdered by a man whose violent and vicious history and risks were repeatedly missed. Now we learn that another mentally ill man with a fixation on us and the Nottingham case travelled to Somerset, including our home town, seeking out victims' families; and the police chose not to tell us.
@nottspolice
knew. The
@policeconduct
knew. Yet nobody thought Barnaby's family deserved a warning. Nobody thought Charlie's school deserved safeguarding advice. Nobody thought we had a right to know. Is this even legal? Isn’t this within 'Osman warning'. As
@drsanjoykumar
points out in the story; the Calocane family were heaped with additional support and resources, including CCTV to make them safe. We had zero. How many more shocking failures are we expected to uncover ourselves? Victims' families should not have to fight for every piece of information while those responsible hide behind processes and excuses. STILL no accountability for ANYONE in these failed agencies."

It's just incredible and appalling - the families being stalked by a mentally ill man, known to the authorities and no one thought to warn them.
The man also turned up at Dr Kumar's workplace, presumably also putting practice staff and possibly other patients present at risk.

The incompetence and failure of duty of care by the police is mind boggling.
I think, considering these events, and the murder of Anne Widdecombe, it is clear there are quite a few dangerous individuals around, who present particular risk to anyone they become fixated on. Some may be mentally ill. Some may have particular axes to grind, whether political or religious or something else.
It seems to me that Harry and family are likely to be at risk - as are other Royals, celebrities and practically anyone who attracts attention by being in the public eye.
Through his ongoing actions and court cases much more is known about the protection available to the Royals than most people would have known previously - I for one didn't know that Anne and Edward for instance only had security when on working visits. I have seen it said on X that there is a review of Royal protection happening this week, but maybe they were referring to the Ravec review, maybe it is a planned regular review or maybe events (including Anne Widdecombe) have raised the alarm and there is a general tightening up happening.
However there isn't a bottomless pit of money and trained police protection officers, there has to be some rationing. I'm not aware of any celebrities getting state sponsored police protection for instance - I assume people like the Beckhams pay for their own.
What I do believe is that Harry considerably increases risk to himself and his family and to the wider Royal family through his actions. His best protection is to live quietly and discreetly. Unfortunately he seems determined not to do this.
As a side issue - why do they insist on having all these ostentatious giant SUVs with blacked out windows which scream for attention? Something I noticed in France was the lack of these types of vehicles - maybe I was in the wrong part of France or something, but I don't think the French are so obsessed with enormous status symbol cars. I don't often take much notice of cars so long as they get me from A to B and don't break down, but I did see a beautiful Royal blue Mercedes coupé parked at the beach one day and thought "I'd love that 😍". Discreet, understated luxury. Why don't they drive cars like that which don't attract so much attention (apart from me falling in love with it obv).
