A continuation of the shenanigans of our favourite non working royals! 😁

It's pretty obvious that HaM have moved over here to put space between themselves and their affair partners and it is to be assumed, 'make a go' of their marriage.
Good luck to 'em I say.

They will need it.

AMW is a monarch's son and brother of now monarch. He's living privately

Only because the RF can't afford to let him be seen with them in public, starryfifty

Right now the same applies to H&M (if she's here too), but despite the welcome for this well written statement it'll be interesting to see what follows if Harry proves even remotely capable of keeping his head down

Charles's poor judgement and enablement - sometimes of those even worse than Andrew and Harry - isn't just an opinion; it's a matter of public record for which he's received unprecedented official criticism in the IICSA report, so personally I avoid assumptions about what he "definitely won't do"

Agree with you once again, @bluegreygreen, about the inclusion of existing rumours in the Blind item being uncomfortable. However it's been widely expected that H&Ms' utter and very public failure might result in "open season" among media who think he's highly unlikely to sue again, and I suspect this may be the start of it

All we need now is Fergie to write a book ... Hmm

Unless of course if by ‘up north’ you mean the arctic circle.
If that’s what you meant, then yes , fine!

They has so many opportunities but the problem was that neither of them had any talent.

Tbf Meghan must have been reasonably talented as an actress. Clearly not enough to break into the top league that she wanted but not talentless.

bluegreygreen · 08/09/2026 11:01

Have finally caught up!

Looking at the Sussex response in the DM just shows again how far they are from being eligible to be considered as working royals:

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex claim they were given no advance warning that Charles would issue the diktat confirming they will not undertake any royal duties in the UK.
The couple, who returned to Britain a fortnight ago, are also understood to be concerned that the timing of the announcement may be linked to a crucial meeting over their security arrangements.

RAVEC never announces when its meetings are being held (in the same way that it doesn't announce its decisions).
Yet again, we only know about it because of the Sussexes. They really don't understand the concept of discretion (or even security itself).

@Starryfifty i think he’s mistaken of he thinks the UK public have much of an appetite for his mental health chat - there are way way better, more informed, better communicators in this space.

As for milking the Diana thing…..interest is waning. It’s grabby and distasteful. No question in my mind the move is partly related to gleaning as many pennies out of the upcoming 30th anniversary as poss. Ghoulish.

I suspect Diana is more sainted in the US. The UK now has moved on, more ready to recognise that Diana was fallible, and accepted Camilla as doing a good job of being consort to the King.

She was quite limited as an actress. All similar roles. The hot girl

Well, that came out of a clear blue sky...

I think posters on here would mostly agree it's more driven by status and money. It's really hard to see how H&M can establish a stable income stream from existing or future ventures, so I think they'll be largely reliant on what H hasn't spunked on pointless legal actions - and who knows how much that is? Certainly not private jet money.

I disagree. At that level of acting it’s all about how you look, not whether or not you can actually act. It always has been.
The cream of actors rise to the top. There are so many ‘executives’ looking for real talent.
Not everyone is Meryl Streep/Tom Hardy.

Harry and Meghan are like eternal toddlers having the worlds biggest temper tantrum and it shows no sign of abating. They sadly seem to bring out the worst in each other.

It's draining, and exhausting. I can't begin to imagine how family are coping with the two of them.

JoyOfApricity · 08/09/2026 11:09

The Markles and Charles Spencer are in cahoots to make money around the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death. They are “claiming” Diana. They are grubby.

SqueakyDinosaur · 08/09/2026 11:12

But I don't understand how they plan to monetise it. Yes, CS has written a book. No surprise there, he's a published author and her brother. So that will probably make some money, but it's not likely to be in the order of magnitude of revenues from Spare.

H&M according to rumour seem to be planning to make and then distribute a film about Diana. That would mean they need to pay production costs up front, fund development (assuming they're not quite delusional enough to think they can do it all themselves) and then sell it. They don't have a good record on content production. How are they going to make money from it?

Newstartplease24 · 08/09/2026 11:13

It’s one thing to be an alright actress; it’s another thing to be an actual star. She knows she’s not that and has somehow convinced herself she’s a creative brain instead, but her ideas are boring and they don’t have star quality either. Loads of people couldnt be a Mary Berry or a Kim Kardashian or a Madonna or a Greta Gerwig or a Susan Sontag - most of us. But she somehow doesn’t even know the difference, and thinks her weak sauce can cut it. She just doesn’t have enough of - anything - to create and carry an idea. That’s ok, because there’s plenty of support work in the world for healthy and well meaning well connected people. She just doesn’t want to do it.

SaltyTea · 08/09/2026 11:15

I believe concerns have been raised about the hidden costs of H&M's 'engagements.' Lord Lieutenants claim back expenses and if their resources are used to organise visits, this is a cost that H&M will have successfully shifted onto the public purse. As far as I can see, their office is run on a shoestring compared and so they benefit by getting charities and official bodies to bear admin and logistical costs. By requiring that these requests are run past Buckingham Palace, the Palace can monitor these and (hopefully) exercise some control over these activities.

There is no reason why a lot of charitable work cannot be undertaken in private / behind the scenes / developing long-term programmes. It speaks volumes that as self-proclaimed philanthropists, H&M are effectively starting from scratch apart from the legacy charities they left with.

MrMarkhamsFanClub · 08/09/2026 11:16

I am so pleased KC has finally put an end to H&M's pseudo royal posturing. H&M are the best advert for a republic going and particularly Harry's foot-in-mouth political comments. They could ironically have been the ones to shoot the Golden egg laying royal goose.
Wouldn't have been their fault though...

There are loads of Netflix Originals that never take off, she was ultimately lucky that Suits did.

@Mylovelygreendress if it is ok with everyone else please continue to post the blind links, just with a warning - I do like reading them (with a shovel or salt) but I find it difficult to wade through all the other rubbish on X

This comes back to lack of talent again. ‘Talent’ doesn’t just involve the skills to be famous, it is also the basic skills of running a charity, or household budget. There is no benefit to a charity of having them behind the scenes. The only benefit they can bring to a charity is to help highlight the charity’s cause.

It’s been pointed out that the new pm met with and attended church with the king and queen on Sunday, Monday we have this statement released to the government etc….
perhaps this is not a coincidence and burnham is fed up and not going to put up with Harry hassling him and his cabinet over his personal wants?

If you think it is Burnham leading this, you’re very much mistaken.

Oy!

What have we in the North done to deserve H&M?

Since Andy Burnham has set up "Number 10 North" it makes sense to have "Buckingham Palace North". Doesn't the weekly meeting between Prime Minister and Monarch happen on a Wednesday? How much easier to delegate this onerous duty to the "Spare up North". Will save Andy using that government jet on a weekly basis.

It makes perfect sense to send them to Manchester. 🤗😂
