What's the betting there'll be a second, private WhatsApp group set up straightaway with two fewer members.

AutumnCrowsWhatsAppGroup · Today 09:51

I’d be pissed off if my children’s school voluntarily and knowingly accepted these parents and their ghastly circus of PR and private security into the school community.

Imagine the chaos these adults are going to cause in and off school grounds.

And Harry has said publicly and openly that he’s a terrorist target. At age 7, my kids would have been clued up enough to be a bit spooked by the thought of that, if they had heard it on the news and Harry’s family were involved with their school.

It originated with ‘royal reporter’ and ‘entertainment journalist’ Brontë Coy from Australia who is (a) full of it, and (b) quite far up the Sussex backside. A total WhatsApper, if you catch my drift.

She probably got this Excuse #93 message from Meg and was ordered to disseminate it, so she did her bidding while calling it an exclusive. Apparently this passes for journalism these days.

I watched her being interviewed this morning; her straight-faced insistence the Netflix deal is absolutely real (paraphrased) will be unconditionally swallowed only by those who have never heard of critical thinking, let alone practised it.

It will all come out in the end. They have a very leaky circle and are incapable of not clapping back.

agreed. And if they play out true to form in a few years they will be off elsewhere because they cant seem to stick to anything for more than a shot span of time.
They need to stick to a lane and do the hard yards to make a go if it whatever they choose to do long term
But I am not sure they are capable of that level of commitment so my prediction is lots of headline grabbing, declaring themselves world leaders in whatever area they are currently.interested in then quickly getting bored and moving on to the next whim .
Leopards dont change their spots and we know their MO well enough by now. It all screams of little forethought or planning and is not really the stable upbringing Harry said he wanted for his kids.

Is that not the same for the schools that any "celebrity" or high-profile people choose for their kids? Some will be low-key and attempt to fit in but I bet others don't.

HeddaGarbled · Today 09:58

It could be true, though. We all scoffed about their prospects in the US before they got their Netflix, Spotify and book deals. Getting Meghan into your show is going to do wonders for your viewing figures.

Quite an amusing full circle for Meghan.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · Today 10:00

I feel sorry for whichever school gets them. They're going to have HAMs demanding privacy/security etc, and otoh releasing stuff that no other parent would release.

I agree.

Also they do not realise that in a exclusive private school, A&L will not be that special.

BillyBites · Today 10:05

So, do people think the school is the one the Tindall kids go to?

Just my thoughts; but I don't think that celebrities endlessly 'clapback' in public. They follow their expensive PR's advice, mostly. They certainly don't expound to the press how much of a terrorist target they are. They don't moan about not being allowed armed protection in the UK. They don't have HaM-style entourages. And I suspect they don't have a reputation for bullying (remember the allegations of 5am emails and Friday night repeated shouty phone calls?). (Good luck to the Headteacher and staff.)

If celebrities did the above, I'd expect that they'd be invited to move the children to a different school. But with HaM, they'd turn it all into a media circus which, as a school parent, I also wouldn't appreciate.

I did go to school with a few children of quite well-known parents. They were extremely low key.

GoodnessGraciousMeh · Today 10:16

I wonder when it'll be clear which schools they have chosen.

Bit random that the Guy Richie story cam out of Australia - why do we think that is?

Still catching up, so this may already have been answered.

If it's Australian media it's probably Brontë Coy who is one of their favoured WhatsApp contacts. They've leaked a few times through her recently.

Surely it would be sensible to keep it quiet as they are such a security risk ?

BasiliskStare · Today 10:38

I think any newspaper with any sense will not reveal the name of the schools , if they know them.

As ever, as always with these two there will be many twists and turns coming down the line.

They are incapable, and not interested, in doing anything in a logical and measured way. They rush head long into things without ever considering the wider impact of anything and never follow professional advice.

If it is true that King Charles was only informed last Sunday, it just illustrates the drama they love to perpetuate especially since they only visited recently and apparently this move this was not discussed (rather big news in the scale of things to not make mention of?)

I should there are a whole host of reasons for this move, more of which will become apparent in the coming months.

But it's certainly going to be interesting watching how their latest dramas develop as one thing's for sure ... they are all going to be splashed across the pages of every single UK newspaper.

How does the royal family and namely The King square things like this coming Christmas with invites, the traditional family walk to church etc?

I feel sorry for Charles and William and Kate. The media are going to have a field day and Harry and Meghan are not going to just quietly settle back over here without any drama are they? After all even this announcement has not been conducted without drama/timings etc.

weegielass01 · Today 10:41

press keep hinting they will be living in the cotswolds which I suppose is a way of saying where they live without naming specific towns.

MrsFinkelstein · Today 10:42

I can see KC managing H&M in a similar way as he does AMW.

Private meetings, no photos.

So if it's Sandringham at Christmas it's announced they're invited, but they don't do the public church walk. I think there's a back exit that's not public?

rocklivia · Today 10:42

I would imagine that some of the press are going to try to outdo the others to get the first photo of these children. Can you imagine any school events? All phones to be left at reception in case on Meghan's demands. It will be a nightmare. Those poor children - hidden from the world and now stuck right out there in a blaze of publicity . She has created this which is bound to happen.

Well that's where all these exiled Americans have headed to isn't it ? Ellen degeneres etc . She's following the rest of the " we don't like Trump" lot .

Just listened to the Kevin O'Sullivan/Foreign policy analyst and former Margaret Thatcher aide Nile Gardiner discussion. Really interesting and measured.
Sounds like Harry's American dream is well and truly over. Only these two could come back spinning for all they are worth with their lies and demands when the truth is utter disgrace and failure.

By the way, can anyone remind me what happened to Nigella Lawson with her USA visa - her cocaine use came out during the trial with Saatchi and I think caused her some trouble when she was meant to be travelling to the USA for a book tour or something.

Don't do drugs if you want to go to the USA!

I just found this and will give it a watch shortly. Thanks for the recommendation. Obviously Nile Gardiner isn't my cup of tea what with me being a tragically ancient Wolfie Smith-type character and everything; but I can quite believe he speaks sense on the visa issue(s) and is in the know about a few things.

The British press absolutely wouldn’t - and if a parent tried to sell a photo (which I would imagine carries the risk of their child being asked to leave the school) - no paper would publish the pictures. How often do you get pictures of the Wales’ kids - although from all accounts they take part in normal sporting events outside their schools so would be easy to snap?

3peassuit · Today 11:00

The Nile Gardiner interview was interesting. I’m very curious about what Harry said in his visa application. Apparently lying in the application is a federal offence so in order to be accepted by the US, he must have been untruthful about his past drug use. I haven’t read spare but I understand he was quite open about his fondness for certain substances.

JSMill · Today 11:01

It’s a standard thing that parents are asked not to post pictures of other people’s children on social media so it is not like M has to ‘demand’ anything. The Wales’ children have been taking part in out of school activities for a few years now without any photos appearing in the British media.

The way to do Christmas is to give them lock them up in the cottage on the estate that used to be made available for Sarah Ferguson so that she could see the children at Christmas.
Invite the children over for a private children’s tea party. Which won’t include the Wales children as the Wales’s will be at the Middletons.

They can come to Church and say their general confession “I have done those things I ought not to have done and I have left undone those things I ought to have done”. Walk back.
Send some cold turkey over with a flunky.
And send them packing.
