Also we’ve had up until now, this isn’t a last min decision, it was all carefully planned out.

Now they are admitting it is last min.

Harry should film a televised apology if he wants to live back here again. After everything they’ve said and done…what a nerve!

LaMarschallin · Today 08:00

It's nuts!
This extremely sudden announcement about returning to the racist, unfriendly, rainy UK after years of apparently loving sunny, laid-back Cali came practically on the same day as it's announced Harry is due to pay millions in court costs, and we're supposed to think "Oh! It's because Meghan may have landed a part in a television series" - yeah, right!

Loving the fans' rather feeble responses of "How do you know - you weren't there" and stupid nitpicking about semantics and details like which course did Meghan actually take at university or just how long was she on screen in "Suits".
Anything to avoid acknowledging exactly what's happening.
(My favourite semantics deflection so far is "And it's "it" not "ti" 😄)

The fact remains that they're very suddenly buggering off from lovely, sunny Montecito back to Salty Island and it's obviously because things there are/have been going badly wrong for them.

Eta I'm such a slow typist 🤦🏻‍♀️
AtIusvue has said pretty much all this and more succinctly.

Also guessing this is the end for Meg posting her kids on SM

They have sent a letter to editors of all British newspapers, asking them not to share info on their new home or schools for their kids. Obviously there’s no legal obligation to do so, but it looks like the newspapers will follow this request.

However, if Meg posts pics of her kids in the back garden and wearing their uniform, I can see how the papers could argue that such photos could reveal the location/schools of where they are.

We know they are hypocrites but I can’t see how she can post her kids in any way shape or form yet expect papers to not even share what county they are living in.

Recklessismymiddlename · Today 08:02

And the influx of so many new posters all straight on the RF board..,

Does Harry speak even a word of another language?

As for Meghan’s ‘fluent Spanish’ …

I doubt either of them know a single word of Latin or Greek. Or whether the Romans preceded or succeeded the Vikings in Britain. Or when Ireland became independent and which counties are in Northern Ireland. But I bet they know who all of the Kardashians are.

Global thought leaders my arse.

Or when Ireland became independent and which counties are in Northern Ireland.

Don't forget that they referred to their visit to Ireland as 'strengthening the Commonwealth' on their defunct Sussex Royal website.

The International Studies graduate and her 'world leader' husband are apparently unaware that Ireland left the Commonwealth in 1949.

Harry and Meghan are failures. He has no discernible talent and her ambition far exceeds any she may have. From what I have seen, the US are delighted they are leaving as they are considered poisonous there.
As for the children I really don’t think anyone cares that much, so let them issue their little commands to the media. They need to understand they’re not important.
If the rumour is true it’s all about his visa that would explain the rush to leave. He is so dim I think he thought having tea with Pa meant come back darling boy. As someone said on here it wasn’t the treaty of Versailles!
I know it’s the silly season, but I for one am sick of the coverage they are getting.

There was no need for that statement at all. By long standing convention no British paper would print, or put online, private photos of royal/celebrity children. Unless they turn up at the Christmas walk to church or release a photo to the press, or or one on Instagram, they will not appear in the press. It's the rubbish about paps outside schools all over again.

MrsLeonFarrell · Today 08:38

Catching up.

I don't want to live in a country where the monarch or Prime Minister can stop a private individual from going anywhere or saying anything political. The Biden story proves what I've been banging on about for sometime, that no one with actual power thinks that the Sussexes represent anyone beyond themselves and that politicians will never give attention to Sussex celebrities at the expense of their relationship with the UK and the monarchy.

There is no need for dramatic interventions, a quiet statement, as was released by the Foreign Office when they went to Nigeria, reminding countries of their status is all that is needed if the government thinks there may be confusion. Harry visits Ukraine to represent Invictus not the UK, that's clear.

Calls for him to be silenced or restricted in some way inflate his importance. He is less influential than Angelina Jolie on the world stage and those who operate at that level recognise this.

Fromhere1 · Today 08:42

Finally caught up!

If KC really did find out just last Sunday then that was incredibly rude of HaM. Even just saying it shows there is serious tension there - shouldn't they try and leak that KC has been part of their plans all summer.

The tabloids must be absolutely delighted - this will provide huge fodder for them.

I think the quick decision to move back is primarily about money and possibly the visa issue too.

I can't imagine how annoyed W & C are...there will be endless speculation about will the cousins meet up, etc.

I am hopeful that they will just keep a really low profile.

Beesandhoney123 · Today 08:48

They dont have to send letters out. And seeing as the school name has already been leaked, its hardly a secret that needs special treatment.

Well they've told the lie for so many years now they need to continue the pretense. That was purely for "the squad" who still believe the rubbish. Now they can say, "see what they have to do before they can go back there because of the evil press"etc etc. Tiresome.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · Today 08:56

Excuse 514:

The last-minute nature of the decision to move back from California is a result of the sudden availability of places for their children at the school where they had been on a waiting list, The Telegraph understands.

We’ve had :

  • to be able to grow up with their aunts/uncles and cousins ( sorry, what cousins? Name names?)
  • Because Meg is possibly talks about possibly appearing in a show that might possibly my get a third series
  • That a British upbringing/schooling is important….even if everything they’ve said in the past, made out this would be the worse thing imaginable and actually had to move countries to protect their kids from it.

Literally no one believes this.

Even if it was true- which clearly it isn't.

The Hams couldn't even be bothered to think about their children's education enough to apply on time for their preferred school.

💐for the school they are attending

That would be a clap back to cover up MMs accusations of 40 deep paps at the school gates - these claims by her have resurfaced hundreds of times over the last day or so and The Cut interview which I think is where she told this lie was republished. So they are just doubling down on their lie to save face in a petty and grandiose way.

sickofsixseven · Today 09:04

The guy ritchie show hasn't even been renewed for a third season. I highly doubt they are casting roles for something that doesn't exist yet. The second season is coming out next month. Nice bit of publicity for something that hardly anyone watches but I dont think meghan will be appearing. Either way it will be at least a couple of years away, plenty of time for even more potential bridges to be burnt, as seems to be the way with these two.

It does annoy me how the news just reports things as facts, journalism in mainly dead.

So NF has to commission the next series.... interesting....

He doesn't do anything now. A fancy hat won't change that.

The ‘lazy William’ trope is a myth put out by arch-republican Norman Baker, former Lib Dem co-alition minister and close friend of Sir Simon Hughes and Evan Harris (all of the ‘Beveridge Group’, all involved with Hacked Off alongside Lib Dem Deputy Leader Daisy Cooper).

Norman Baker was once devoted to his cause in a healthy, democratic way. More lately, however, he appears to have taken (bizarrely and hypocritically) Prince Harry’s shilling to write shit about William in the MailOnline for money as a ‘royal expert’, using -ironically- a lazy data metric known as the ‘court circular’ to underpin his deeply flawed claim. No other data - just that.

I want the Monarchy to change - but not because of Baker’s weird little bro’ship with those who would tell lies to destroy the free press for their own ends.

I agree - this screams of a sudden decision born out of exceptional necessity. I'm going to listen to the Nile Gardiner interview I posted up thread again. He is so measured and knowledgeable and I'm convinced this is the truth. Visa problems closing in fast. There's a very real possibility Harry may never be able to return to the USA (or not any time soon) and that will speak for itself as time passes. One might think under such circumstances that they would be lying low but it appears not, with the spin merchants coming out with ever more improbable explanations.

King Charles should crack his whip. He should demand a full apology from both of them. Then - if he is giving any financial help at all - lay down strict conditions upon which that help is dependent. Starting with SHUT UP. Sack all your PR people - if you need PR help it will come via Buckingham Palace MIGs and you will need to toe the line and be grateful.

BillyBites · Today 09:31

I read a piece by Omid Scobie yesterday who says there have been clues for months about this plan - not least of which was the scaling down of their offices and the number of staff working for them.
Hilarious - I presume he didn't even attempt to write that with a straight face.

myverylastnerve · Today 09:37

She kissed a prince and he’s turned into a frog .
I think she will dump Harry and the kids in the UK and lead an “ international life “
She has no further use for him and he’s surely ruining her “brand “

Bit random that the Guy Richie story cam out of Australia - why do we think that is?

It originated with ‘royal reporter’ and ‘entertainment journalist’ Brontë Coy from Australia who is (a) full of it, and (b) quite far up the Sussex backside. A total WhatsApper, if you catch my drift.

She probably got this Excuse #93 message from Meg and was ordered to disseminate it, so she did her bidding while calling it an exclusive. Apparently this passes for journalism these days.

It's clearly the same as when H issued the first press warning to "back off M" right at the beginning of their relationship.

It's about firstly making it seem like there is so much interest that they have to issue the statement, secondly about when they don't have the interest, they can say it because of that rather than because they're not as important as they like to think.

No doubt they'll put their own photo out too, so if anyone uses it then it goes back to themselves.
Best thing the press could do is totally ignore any photos they put out. They'd be far more put out by thst than by being chased by packs of photographers.

I feel sorry for whichever school gets them. They're going to have HAMs demanding privacy/security etc, and otoh releasing stuff that no other parent would release.
Can't you just seeing them leaking how the class WhatsApp groups are overcome with awe they've got them in the class... then later any issues being leaked as well.
We'll all know it's them while they put out a statement about other parents being jealous...

I suggest if you are unfortunate enough to have them join your group then you make it strictly factual like "PE kits today". Although HAMs will probably be able to make a drama out of that.
Either how everyone is desperate to help them if they want to say how loved they are, or how terribly stiff and formal everyone else us not like us the free spirits if they want to sound superior.

EmpressSisi · Today 09:42

It will all come out in the end. They have a very leaky circle and are incapable of not clapping back.
