He has kept in touch with Harry and supported him, eg turning up to the invictus service at St Paul’s in 2024 (along with his sister Lady Sarah Fellowes). No royals attended the service for obvious reasons.
But yes, it would be very generous to have them land on the estate with all the problems that follow them wherever they go. But they appear to be in cahoots currently.

Time will tell.

He will get markled in the end.

Princessfluffy · 20/08/2026 21:48

If the tax payer is going to have to foot the bill for Harry’s UK security I think it will be the nail in the coffin of the monarchy.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/08/2026 21:49

Where does this leave their Chief of Staff and everyone else?

Do they still have a Chief of Staff etc, @Atlusvue?
I honestly don't know either way, but their turnover of staff has always been remarkable, and then there's the question of whether they can pay them

And yes Charles could certainly fund them in California (and IMO probably has been doing) but it's now said that for whatever reason they want to be here

Unless they really are doing it for Netflix content the whole thing makes no sense at all, but doubtless more will emerge in time

This should be a non issue as they are private citizens but no doubt this is the next drama HAM will bring with them

Starryfifty · 20/08/2026 21:57

And please tell me what's happening with Better Up ? 🤣

ShamedBySiri · 20/08/2026 21:57

I said it in a previous thread, but they are young (in terms of life expectancy), just mid 40’s. There could be another 40 years of this / must Charles (and subsequently William) shell out millions every year to keep them in the style to which they are accustomed. (As well as paying for AMW who probably has another couple of decades to go). What are they going to do for the next forty years? How can they pay even part of their expenses with no job?

So she’s lasted just over a year. Not bad compared to some!

Meghan appoints Bill Gates’ ex-assistant as chief of staff

Sarah Fosmo, 45, has been appointed as Meghan Markle’s senior advisor

Haven't we heard about her 'going back to acting' a few times before?

And moving from California to the Cotswolds is rather a strange move for an actress!

I just wonder if KC knew they were in deep shit and needed a massive handout, so when he met Harry on his own, he handed him an agreement. He would pay for schooling (in the UK), they would get legal fees paid from his personal pot, and an agreed allowance/costs covered if they were back in the UK, and lived by his rules.

The call on Sunday was Harry saying yes we accept (have no money so have no option), and we'll be over before the end of the month.

All guesswork of course!

Interesting - agree it’s possible PH has possibly agreed to some deal - but their announcement went quite far with a statement that MM would be leading her businesses from international bases - so she’s basically not going to be here - guessing PH said yes and MM said no to a deal with KC3 ….. or there is no deal and they are here on their own steam doing a NF fly on the wall but that doesn’t make sense if MM is not in the country with her DC and PH.

Cismyfatarse · 20/08/2026 22:14

BBC TV said it had been reported in Australia and not denied……could be a bit part to provide cover for their return. Maybe she is playing herself in a new season of The Crown…

Starryfifty · 20/08/2026 22:17

Well I hope RF are careful. HAM are mercenary. Who is to say they won't do another explosive interview in let's say, 18 months time

Could be a filming location.

But actually, has the Cotswolds been confirmed or it is still a guess?

Could be.

But more likely the story has as much truth as the other 'return to acting' stories, ie, none.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 20/08/2026 22:20

I think they had a cataclysmic, wine-fuelled row at the weekend, during the course of which the ‘humiliated’ Duchess (in response to all the ‘Harry will visit every few months’ chatter) may have shouted, ‘Well why don’t we just move back there?! I’ll phone your dad right now and tell him, shall I? And do you think you’re the only one who can leak to the press?’

’Go ahead!’ bellows the mangy fox. And that was that, and now they are scrabbling about trying to make it look like it was a deliberate decision and shouting, ‘Fuck, fuck, fuck!’ and trying to buy a suitable house (sight unseen) over the internet, and choosing the kids’ school at total random. There will be a lot of door-banging and venomous muttering, no doubt.

(I know it most likely didn’t happen like this, but it entertains me to think about it.)

AtIusvue · 20/08/2026 22:21

Doesn’t say what the role is.

Prince Harry was deeply offended when KC suggested Meg’s keep on acting but now it’s ok?

Has anyone asked Omid Scobie if he's ok?

King Charles makes clear Prince Harry will not be his priority

AtIusvue · 20/08/2026 22:31

Meh the article just states she’s been offered a role. Thats not a reason why someone would move country

Cismyfatarse · 20/08/2026 22:33

How Prince Harry’s return complicates the royal balance of power. Times are pumping out articles but they are behind a paywall so putting them here for anyone to read. Lots of rehashing but stuff slowly emerging maybe.

Oh come on, this talk on THE BBC about rival courts is utterly ridiculous. What on earth can HAM offer anyone around them?

Hopefully this is just another whim and they'll bugger off back to US in 6 months time
