GBNews are reporting that Harry and Megan are moving back to the UK at the end of August.

I won't believe it until I hear it on the BBC.

Have you any insight as regards how the RF earn their money?

So far, it is like a tumbleweed response, bar of course, the cutting of ribbons and packing a few boxes. Nothing that I can see adds up to a 40 hour week righteous graft.

Yes I think my comment to you about being no fun at a party stands. But you are entertaining and you have certainly given me the giggles on a wet Thursday so thank you for that.

Irish President is elected by the people. S/He has a fixed salary and a house in the Park. Is it similar to the Monarch in that respect? I think it's the wealth, lack of rules applying to the Monarch/RF such as financial information/taxes and so on that riles people up TBH. Openness and transparency would help their image a lot.

And who wouldn't cut a few ribbons and pop up at the local shindig for a few billion a year? I would, and I'm sure many others would too, ill or not!

How much more openness and transparency do you need? They pay taxes they don't have to... The monarch gets a fund per y per year to do the role. The family also have private income etc

Would you really want to live a life wherever we move is scrutinised? Your wife is subjected to media harassment, every time you go outside someone is commenting on what you're wearing, how fat you are, whether you looked at someone oddly whether held your husband's hand or not etc

Yes, they have immense wealth and privilege. But I wouldn't fancy that life.

It appears to have been taken over by Irish people who loathe the Royal family.
By all means make your point but wanting the last word on everybody’s post is tedious in the extreme.

Loathe? That would involve me caring about them, which is the crux of my point. They are normal human beings, who bizzarely people bow to and give them titles.

That is a whataboutery defense.

Diluting a fact that the level of racism and a person's valid experience of racism with defenses such as "That happens everywhere" is the fuel racism burns on.

I’ve never once said Meghan hasn’t experienced racism and I’m not disputing her personal experiences. My point is that racism was never the reason they left the UK, nor was it security. She didn’t want to be a working royal, she wanted to be a celebrity. Given the platform she had, just think of all the work she could have done to bring focus to issues around racism and inequality. She chose to make jam and collab on Netflix episodes with her celebrity pals instead.

His wife and him were held to account for the lies she told and they and their supporters don’t like. Maybe they should have had a plan B if it all went tits up which is plainly happening before our eyes.

Just a quickie...where in that tale of woe states how they earn their money?

So, you're saying the role of ceremonial head of state in a parliamentary democracy is completely useless. You would rather have a political, executive head of state, which would also minimise the role of parliament. You'd prefer a system like that of France or the United States.

By the way, if you want to see some of the work that the King does, just take a look at the Royal Family Instagram account and contemplate whether the country would be better off without that.

😂😂😂😂

Come onnnn... They serve the same role as your president does. They get funded through the sovereign Grant, taxpayer money, just like your president gets funded to do their role.

If your president is fine cutting ribbons once a week, doing ceremonial roles, posting international visitors, representing your country abroad and getting paid for that by the taxpayer... then why is it an issue that the king, the head of state, does the same thing?

They also have a private income.

I find the British are obsessed with your Royal family and it is an embarrassment on you as the rest of the world are baffled how you are indoctrined to actually bow and curtsy to other normal human beings.

Absolutely nobody should be bowing to another person unless it is culturally mutual.

As regards Harry and Megan, The English just are seething that she blew open racism within that toxic institution. And before anybody chimes in with their pathetic defense of their beloved "royal" family, her claims were valid.

The media had printed a story with a cartoon image of a prince walking up the aisle with a chimp as a bride, yet the British people STILL refute her claims she was subjected to racism.

For once, somebody blew open just how racist the UK is and it typical British style, they blame the actual victim

I am unfortunate to be stuck in England with my Irish job for another 8 months.

Never have I come across such a hateful country, fueled by poverty and nearly every second person I meet is trying to save 10p and would walk ten miles to the next shop just to do so. This poverty breeds a demographic that buys into a toxic, dangerous and fabricated media, which is entrenched in racism.

Utterly fascinating that the British cannot see beyond their own arrogance, in that quite frankly, nobody outside the UK gives any type of a toss about a corrupt family comprised of paedophilia and wearing crowns looted from India.

You mean we have to suffer you for the next 8 months ? Crikey the Winter nights are going to drag by waiting for that lovely Spring day when you finally leave our beautiful shores.

Maybe you should just read a bit more?

Honestly, all these questions are very easily answered with a very quick Google and have been answered in this thread already.

You just keep going "LOL. They cut ribbons once a week. What a waste of time hahaha" . Instead of listening to people who tell you they do exactly the same thing as any other head of state... Including the head of your state.... Whos level of work and duties you seem to have no issue with for some reason

What's the bets George will be wheeled out in his Eton uniform any day now, to re focus things away from you know who.... Can't wait.

I don't think he'll be wheeled out solely as part of a media campaign to distract from Harry and co. I doubt his parents and the royal family as a whole are like that (they don't need to be). There might be some videos of his first day at his new school (as there was when his father started there), but it's just traditional to show the first days at new schools.

Quite. She’s spent all morning so far posting on a thread that she apparently has no interest in and which relates to the head of a country of which she isn’t even a citizen. It’s bizarre.

A president is elected by its people in a demographic approach. The RF are not. And only have a role under the illusion of 'culture'. The public vote in a president. The RF are born into an institution, which by default is just a life of wealth and privilege.

In addition, Ireland and indeed France's president do not influence the government.

I am also not influenced by an instagram page created by a firm, in whom engineer an image of Kate, William and their kids prancing about in a meadow.

As people, do I like or dislike them? I don't have an opinion as they are normal humans, whom British people bow to.

So what if they're not elected?

Doesn't mean they don't work.

And the history of Ireland has elected leaders and look at the atrocities that happened there....

Is that because they don't work?

Well in that case your president doesn't do any work. And you fully support them. Geez what a waste of taxpayers money. What a drain to society. What a pointless woman she is.

Nor do any other heads of state across the world...

No, I mean the fact that 800 babies were buried in a sewer system. Your government forcibly removed babies from unmarried mothers etc
