GBNews are reporting that Harry and Megan are moving back to the UK at the end of August.

I won't believe it until I hear it on the BBC.

No, I mean the fact that 800 babies were buried in a sewer system. Your government forcibly removed babies from unmarried mothers etc

Any sign of a breakdown of the 40 hour work week the RF do? The unelected RF that is.

Check history. That actually was driven by Britain.

Oh of course it definitely wasn't the Irish government or the Catholic church involved in any way shape or form? No, they were just innocent victims... innocent in all of it....

Maybe you should just read a bit more?

Honestly, all these questions are very easily answered with a very quick Google and have been answered in this thread already.

You just keep going "LOL. They cut ribbons once a week. What a waste of time hahaha" . Instead of listening to people who tell you they do exactly the same thing as any other head of state... Including the head of your state.... Whos level of work and duties you seem to have no issue with for some reason

Edited

Try quoting the correct poster.

I never feel an itch to fill gaps with the lols or hahahas.

Where did I say that?

Puddlewoman · Today 10:47

would it not just be because of education, I mean if I had small children about to embark on school and I could educate them in either america or the uk I know which one I would choose

Portakalkedi · Today 10:48

Thought it was far too dangerous for them (although places like Colombia are not). More likely that the King will be bankrolling them and providing security, now that all the grand schemes have fizzled out. What a pair of opportunists. I see some posters saying they wish to be nearer to the King because of his age and cancer diagnosis, but there was no stampede to even visit her father - or has she even seen him at all since before she married Harry?

It’s much more than that. They are heading back to a country they claimed was dangerous beyond words and unsafe but here they are returning.

... So what if she has a fixed salary? So does the King....

So what if she was elected by the people? She does exactly the same role as the king does....

Now, I highly doubt the Irish President is hiding a paedophile family member in her loft.

Nor did she pay £11K to get him off the hook

But keep bowing.

Please break down the hours of work that your president first does.

He actually works 50 to 60 hours a week. 25 hours on to take paperwork and redboxes... About 15 hours public engagements.. 10 hours on official meetings... 5 hours household estates and management etc

I don't think Harry ever really wanted to be away from the UK for so long. Meghan is probably always happier back at what is home for her, and is basically her culture, but Harry simply stormed off in a huff seven years ago, thinking this would give him some leverage and his family would have to make concessions to get him to come back. Except, pretty much the opposite happened.

I suspect the reason he is apparently returning is so he can raise his kids in the UK so they will be properly British and not have American accents so they can take what he sees as their rightful place as working royals and HRHs. Except, it's never going to be like that (my hunch is that the plan was always for Harry's kids not to officially have use the titles of prince and princess, like Prince Edward's children don't, but Harry insisted).

I can't imagine Meghan is too happy about this move, if it happens, but she has to go along with it as part of the make the children British royals campaign. I wonder if Doria is coming too.

A very cynical part of me wonders if Harry wants the kids to be in the UK just in case he and Meghan ever divorce, as if they divorce in the US then Meghan would never agree to the kids leaving the country so they would have to grow up in the US and Harry would have to stay there too and he and the kids would increasingly be distanced from his royal associations.

AprilMizzel · Today 10:50

I supposed we should all be pleased the UK is apparently now safer Hmm.

I expect we'll get a barage of new stories about them can only hope public interest continues to wane and they may die off.

We have the RF and the constitutional monarchy system - which is more wide spread than just UK and is suprisngly stable. There seems little appetite in UK in popluation or poltics for consultation change even when RF may not be popular.

I think it's obvious this is an admission things haven't worked out in US and they are crawling back to a country they've been extremely unpleasant about in hope everyone will forget. Having upset most of the news paper groups not sure this will go well for them as they seem to expect. I expect they will continue to damage the RF in many ways and try and brief the press but I think RF access will be very limited as they have proven so untrust worthy.

Face facts, you were wrong about the monarch only cutting ribbons once a week etc

I'm sure your elected officials are perfect and never make any mistakes and have no controversies ever in the entire history of the Ireland.

There's obviously a massive inheritance coming up soon. Since they chose to go NC for so long, it's obvious that Charles changed his will to be quite unfavourable to the son he assumed would never come back. The sudden u-turn is a last ditch attempt to reconcile and hope he'll give them some more.

Puzzledandpissedoff · Today 10:52

The media had printed a story with a cartoon image of a prince walking up the aisle with a chimp as a bride

Isn't this a bit unfortunate, @AoifeRua, coming from someone who's said so much about others not knowing the facts?

Having now caught up with the thread it's pretty clear H&M's few remaining fans are having a hard time with the concept of them returning, but then that's understandable
It can't be easy to have crowed about their wisdom in leaving a racist hellhole, the vast success awaiting them in the US and how much better off they'd be there, only to see what's being reported now

You're proving my point that was in my initial post.

I would have thought it was glaringly obvious just what outlets fall under the toxic British media.

The clue is in the words, "The Telegraph" to choose the most obvious from the sources you provided.

You sound like Trump. Anything that proves you wrong is "fake news"

How about you prove that they only cut ribbons once a week as you're so adamant you're correct?

I thought for tax reasons the bulk goes from monarch to monarch anyway.

Not sure the King will be pleased about all the speculation again about his health on back of this.

Are they funding their own house and what security wise does this mean - will they get more paid for by taxpayers now despite not being working RF members?

snafumafu · Today 10:56

This thread is 😮. The vitriol and cruelty toward H & M never ceases to amaze me.

Kipperandarthur · Today 10:57

The problem with airing your dirty laundry in public is that it has been aired for all to see.

They have both said so much that is damaging to the RF (and individual members of that family) that it's extremely difficult to see how a smooth transition is possible in them returning.

When things have been said on TV, in books and interviews they can't simply be unsaid.

The media are going to pounce on every single little thing going forward as the media have also been vilified.

It's certainly a surprise and very difficult to logically square their return considering everything Harry has said about security etc etc. But return it seems to be.

He must have been exceptionally unhappy stateside to persuade Meghan to return to this country as it wholeheartedly appeared that was something she would never do.

Provide your facts.... if all the the king does is cutting ribbons once a week then there's going to be lots of evidence of that..

.... I'll wait.

MixedFeelingsNoFeelings · Today 10:57

I was surprised how depressed I felt when I heard the news this morning. Made me realise how relieved I was when H&M emigrated. Going NC with the whole UK as well as their family seemed to be the only way out, after they trashed us all so comprehensively.

My heart would sink a bit when Harry returned for another of his legal crusades, but there was always the comfort that it wouldn't last long and he'd soon be back among people who understood him.

And now the Prodigal Couple have returned. It feels too sudden, too soon, with no indication of any greater awareness, humility or contrition on their part. I wonder if there'll be pressure on the five kids to act as family bridge-builders... or, equally hard on them, if they won't be allowed to get to know their cousins or their aunt and uncle. I'm sure there'll be lots of discussions going on in both households.

Please can you start your own thread about the relevance or not of the British monarchy, how they are funded and do they work hard etc.

This thread is about Harry and Meghan.

They do get a lot of hate not all earned but then they do not help themselves and have been very unpleasant about UK it's people it's media and their own families.

It's obvious it a tail between legs return probably related to money - though the secuirty bills they apparently expected others to foot will not be helping them there.
