GBNews are reporting that Harry and Megan are moving back to the UK at the end of August.

I won't believe it until I hear it on the BBC.

"The media had printed a story with a cartoon image of a prince walking up the aisle with a chimp as a bride, yet the British people STILL refute her claims she was subjected to racism."

Incorrect. Check your facts!

It was actually worse wasn't it and a tweet by a BBC presenter who was fired.

@WildGarlicSoup I was wondeing if Charles spencer has influence in this as well.
Also Charles spencer has a book coming out which I'm sure won't be too flatering about the royals and Diana .

It's a good thing and I'm glad they are doing it.

I agree. I hope they will be happy here in the UK, all 4 of them.

I hope you get to leave soon, as it’s so bad for you.

Me too. 8 months and counting.

Wiseplumnet · Today 09:06

If my sibling had aired our 'dirty laundry in public' as Harry has done ( and made money out of it) I am not sure there would be any way back. I am not sure I would ever trust them again. All families have disagreements but don't tell the whole world. It was like an aristocratic version of Jeremy Kyle.

EasternStandard · Today 09:06

AoifeRua · Today 09:03

That isn't my experience. They are facts, in that the British bow to a royal family.

Of course not. It rarely comes up for most. You sound a bit like you’re making life hard for yourself. Just go back.

Benjithedog · Today 09:06

NautilusLionfish · Today 08:55

I have never read their book or listened to their interviews but from what I have read here and elsewhere there is nothing in what they have said or done that deserves the vitriol. Or worth a cut off by a sibling. Its all so petty

Well maybe you should as the pair told numerous lies

ShedShedShed · Today 09:07

Benjithedog · Today 09:04

In the long term though they didn’t succeed with the Oprah interview. In fact they sewed the seeds of their downfall with this very interview ( amongst others of course)

Well depends on what you mean. It was very successful in terms of viewership and global interest 🤷

In terms of viewership, It's the most popular (non-sporting) broadcast in UK in recent years, more popular than the Emmys in US, most searched interview on Google.

With the utmost respect to you, if the history curriculum wasn't sanitised in British schools, you would be horrified at your own history. Rich yes, albeit gained from murder and theft.

I agree that England has some pretty parts though.

I think we’re aware of our history and it’s rather more nuanced than you give credit. But you’re of course entitled to draw your own conclusions. I feel sorry for you having to live in a country and amongst people you seem to hate.

Go now?

Why are you "stuck"? Why haven't applied for other jobs and left this awful place...? 🤷

Next.

I very much doubt Charles was only told on Sunday. Seems unlikely he wouldn’t have known more than just a few days before the press did!

If this is true at all then I agree

As I've said so often none of us know what's gone on behind the scenes, and I've always believed that Charles will do exactly as he wishes to regardless of public opinion

We've been here before with Camilla, and if Harry really is coming back the PR campaign will doubtless already be planned - and will be gobbled up by the more credulous

I'd be honestly surprised if Meghan came with him though, unless it's to harvest more bankable stories before bailing for good. After all I doubt she'll want to be made "suicidal" again ...

Things harry does seem to be involved in generally succeed/ last even when he's not involved anymore - where other teams are doing the "actual work" or running the organisation. E.g. Sentebale, Invictus, Travalyst, African Parks. He's never done these things alone, perhaps because he knows he can't actually, so is more of a figure head/representative etc

a d things M does seems to not 🤷 she seems to do things herself and they don't work out/carry on... Archetypes, As Ever/Jam, Pearl etc

The stuff they do together such as Oprah interview succeed....

I think the success factor is Harry, not himself as such, but his name/who he is holds weight and is useful publicity for the stuff attached to him, generating publicity etc

I would assume that if Meghan did a "faux Royal tour" it would not generate the interest that their joint"tours" do, and if Harry did a solo"tour " it would be more popular than Megan's.

If you grew up and were educated in Britain, you are not aware of the accurate history, albeit, the blame and burden of that lies with the British establishment, and not the individual person.

Tbh I could understand Camilla, as in his eyes she’s probably the devil incarnate and he hasn’t grown up.

But the way he treated Kate and his grandparents, not really. Unforgivable.

If they had succeeded in the US, there is no way, they would be coming back to the U.K. with their tails between their legs, no matter how this being spun.

Good for them, I hope it works out for them, whatever their reasoning.

I am not especially a fan, but hugely admire Meghan for agreeing to this when she’s painfully aware of the hatred she will receive, the very second her Manolo’s hit the tarmac.
I think as KC is so unwell, it’s a great & significant gesture for Harry to return now, let’s hope they can all at least begin to get along now.

I have a feeling that we won't see them. I think they will be left alone by the UK news media and I think that has probably already been agreed.

It will be interesting to see how it all pans out, but I still think that H will eventually return to Royal duties (and yes, I know what he has said and what the RF has said about that etc.). I actually hope he does, he's very good at them and great with the general public.

I think this is just the first step; they have been advised to just return and settle their lives here first, settle the children at school etc.. I reckon Charles Spencer is probably providing accommodation (just a guess) RF cannot been seen to be involved.

I don't beleive that the King was 'blindsided' by this, I think he just cannot be seen to have been involved in it.

H&M will have to mend the relationship with W&C before H can do any Royal duties.

The RF really do have the best PR people in the world.

I really hope they will settle in the UK and be happy, personally.

That's my two-peneth!

What difference is it going to make to you?

Honestly this thread is pathetic. Good for them coming back here especially if it is because Charles does not have long left.

Of course stick up his arse William won't be happy nor will haggard faced Kate. Well I for one won't be that happy when workshy William is King

I read this and conjured an image of you hefting your bosom with the last sentence. Did you?

Not daft no.

What is daft is you not knowing that they are facts.

Britain does not teach Irish history in schools and what Britain did to Ireland.

What they did teach was that a "treaty" was agreed. That is about the extent of it.

Orangelilies · Today 09:23

Harry returning after all his criticisms of his family and his country reminds me of these husbands who meet someone else after a long marriage and suddenly claim to have been unhappy all that time.
Then if it doesn't work out with the other woman they come crawling back.

Sighs. The amount of fucking squawking there is going to be on here will be relentless.

I hope the vitriolic obsessives can stick to the RF forums and not bore the rest of us.
