GBNews are reporting that Harry and Megan are moving back to the UK at the end of August.

I won't believe it until I hear it on the BBC.

What difference is it going to make to you?

Honestly this thread is pathetic. Good for them coming back here especially if it is because Charles does not have long left.

Of course stick up his arse William won't be happy nor will haggard faced Kate. Well I for one won't be that happy when workshy William is King

If the thread is so pathetic why are you here commenting?

Betterbeingdead · Today 08:34

Cake and eat it ! I thought they hated the UK ! Must be short of money . Wonder which state school will get them ? Or not . It's going to cost us !

I thought they'd said they won't be living in a royal residence? Private home.

I think after Andrew they announced no more private deals for non working royals

If it bores you why are you here commenting?

Because it turned up in trending so I came to request that the topic doesn’t spill out from RF across the rest of the site as it has in the past.

Poor souls. They are brave to come to this racist hole.

No one is making them if it’s that bad.

Coinkidinki · Today 08:37

leaving only William and Kate to do the bread and butter work of royalty, which is cutting ribbons at various mundane events around the country. They can’t be everywhere

They can't be anywhere at the moment judging by how little they do 😆

Chenecinquantecinq · Today 08:38

I think Charles is very ill and that is why but not out of compassion more that they can make more money here being around as he deteriorates. They can't afford USA and everything they tried there has failed. Royal connnection is all they have left to make ££££. Also much as I dislike him Harry probably could not face his children being educated in USA.

MsDitsy · Today 08:40

Right from the very first interview with this couple, I thought that this very beautiful woman was using every ounce of her acting experience to look the fragile, in love, sweetheart. Every hand touch, facial expression and pause was contrived. If you have ever watched the American Christmas romance films, this was exactly that. The pretence that she didn't know who Harry was, the question about the blind date 'is he nice?', it all looked so very 'acted'. I loved Harry, he embodied my son and all his friends in one. I was desperately hoping this woman was genuine and that i was wrong. So they left and i believe so many made up stories didn't help but oh God, so many are true, too many to ignore. The interview, the book, the mocking curtsey, all horrible. There were corroborated reports about the financial losses her food brand has due to unsold stock and its widely reported regarding the court costs are in the millions.

My thoughts are that their return is for several reasons. I thing they are very rich but still life there is not sustainable with their financial losses. The King is old and ill and still wants a relationship with Harry and his grandchildren. I wonder if there is an element of the fact of his drug taking revelations in his book have come home to roost as there are accounts of this being investigated in the States. It wouldn't look good being bundled out of the country by ICE.

All of the comments from Harry about not returning due to safety are coming back to haunt him.

I think the British people are very astute and their behaviour once they are here will make or break thier relationship with the public. They have a LOT of fences to mend. What will happen after the king passes is anyone's guess but I think William and Catherine are too high class to air their dirty linen in public.

diddl · Today 08:40

Things must be bad to go back to the place you left because it was so awful there.

Or was it more that you couldn't have your own way?

I'm sure there will be interest when they move back but enough to make money?

Who knows!

IcedPurple · Today 08:40

Money isn’t an object. They have access to fair more than we know. It will be kept fully staffed too.

I think money is very much an object. That's very likely why they are returning to 'Salty Isle'.

5MinuteArgument · Today 08:41

Dontevenlookatme · Today 07:28

Which will be a huge relief to George I’m sure.
Robert Jobson talking on The Royalist YT channel is aghast, thinks it will be catastrophic for the monarchy, all sorts of trouble coming, fake tours, competing with royal events for headlines. He compared it to Edward Vlll deciding he wanted to come back and live in Windsor.

Yes, I think there is a danger if that. I hope they can get into useful projects and make enough money so they don't have to create masses of drama in order to generate an income, like they did in the USA.

LindorDoubleChoc · Today 08:41

Orangelilies · Today 08:10

They couldn't make enough in the US to pay for the lifestyle they wanted, Harry's attempt to make money through suing the newspaper group has failed and will leave him with a huge bill and his only hope of getting the money he needs is from Charles. When William is in charge of he coffers he has no chance.
They must have incredibly thick skins after all they have said about the family and the UK.

I think this most closely aligns with what I believe might br going on. Frankly I'm absolutely amazed that he has been able to persuade Meghan to do it - she has never hidden her deep dislike of this country and his family. It's an incredible U turn and things must be a bit desperate. I would be interested to read a plain, unbiased, purely factual list of what H and M have embarked upon since leaving the UK and what the outcome of all those enterprises has been.

diddl · Today 08:43

I'm sure Charles will leave him a good few pennies!

Pullie · Today 08:45

I always find it odd how people interpret any dislike for Meghan as automatically being racist. Sure, some will be. But I find her to be an incredibly fake try hard. I’m a woman of color saying that! The constant talk of being your authentic self makes me want to die. She has made barefeet and roast chicken a personality trait. Boring. That’s before you even mention the world world privacy tour where they bemoaned their incredibly difficult lives whilst living a multimillion pound Montecito mansion. Honestly the victim act is gross.

PussyGaylore · Today 08:46

I wonder if The Donald finally looked into how he got a visa with his ( Harry’s) self confessed drug use. There was a lot of people wanting the visa application to be made public.

AoifeRua · Today 08:47

I find the British are obsessed with your Royal family and it is an embarrassment on you as the rest of the world are baffled how you are indoctrined to actually bow and curtsy to other normal human beings.

Absolutely nobody should be bowing to another person unless it is culturally mutual.

As regards Harry and Megan, The English just are seething that she blew open racism within that toxic institution. And before anybody chimes in with their pathetic defense of their beloved "royal" family, her claims were valid.

The media had printed a story with a cartoon image of a prince walking up the aisle with a chimp as a bride, yet the British people STILL refute her claims she was subjected to racism.

For once, somebody blew open just how racist the UK is and it typical British style, they blame the actual victim

I am unfortunate to be stuck in England with my Irish job for another 8 months.

Never have I come across such a hateful country, fueled by poverty and nearly every second person I meet is trying to save 10p and would walk ten miles to the next shop just to do so. This poverty breeds a demographic that buys into a toxic, dangerous and fabricated media, which is entrenched in racism.

Utterly fascinating that the British cannot see beyond their own arrogance, in that quite frankly, nobody outside the UK gives any type of a toss about a corrupt family comprised of paedophilia and wearing crowns looted from India.

BermudaRhombus · Today 08:47

It’s possible that they could have the best of both worlds here. The slimming down of the Royal Family has left a vacuum with plenty of organisations looking for patronage. Harry can step into some of these roles and, as much as people don’t like to hear it, he is still popular with a good chunk of the population, especially the young. There’s nothing that some good PR can’t build upon in that regard. At the same time, they will not be formal working royals and therefore free to pursue some commercial opportunities as well. It will be difficult, but there is a path they could take in this country.

What you mean is you find her too Californian? I do too. ( am also a WoC). That kind of self help blather just annoys me.

If I were Harry, I would not have shot off my mouth quite so much about how racist and unsafe the UK is, and left myself an out. But then he's not very bright, poor lamb.

I think all the speculation about Charles is a red herring in this context. He is approaching 80 in just over a year and he has cancer which, as far as we know, is being held back by treatment. He could live for many more years. But he is an older man.

I don't think the move is because they want to see more of him TBH.
Many families live miles apart and manage to make frequent trips to see their elderly parents. I know couples who made transatlantic flights once a month to see family and they didn't have H's wealth or ability to use private jets.

I think the simple truth is that H doesnt live the US as much as he imagined, he misses England and M's businesses are failing. He also supposedly has costs of around £11M for the court battle. I think moving here is a convenient 'move' for the meantime.

Eh ok love.

Hope you get back to Ireland - which is as money and class conscious with racism problems as here - asap. I say this as an Irish person.

Globally there has always been a fascination with the Royal family - to say no one is interested is of course entirely nonsense. Indeed, here you are commenting on Royal news.

I’m sorry this has been your experience. We have some beautiful parts of the UK with rich history and diverse culture. I hope you get to experience some of the positives before you return.

She gives off a very sickly sweet vibe which feels so incredibly contrived. I genuinely think that’s what people react badly to. We can tell when someone is not being genuine

scalt · Today 08:52

Are they going to pay tax, or is that too much to hope for?

And if it is because Charles might not be around much longer, it will mean another expensive funeral, another expensive period of “national mourning”, another expensive coronation, and more expensive public holidays, moments after this was all spent before.
