Eugenie gave birth to a daughter on Monday. She was born in Lisbon, Portugal.

The baby’s name has not been revealed yet.

I remember reading at the time that they weren't allowed to use Victoria because Charles had bagsied it in case he and Diana had a girl!

They live in Portugal in Alentejo region .

She was hardly a ‘Nazi!
She joined the party as most Germans did. She has no history of involvement with the party or with any sort of activism. It is viewed as a pragmatic move as opposed to anything sinister.

You trying to make it sound like she was dive bombing Buckingham palace is ridiculous. She died in an accidental plane crash, during a storm on her way to a family wedding.

To be fair, she was married to a Nazi and her funeral had full Nazi honours.
It was tragic though, her baby perished as well.

She was a member of the Nazi Party from May 1937, and her funeral was full of Nazis. Her husband, sisters, brothers in law, all Nazis. Her nephew was named after Hitler, the whole family found him "charming and forward thinking". Sophie and her husband joined in 1932.

This was all long before people joined up because you had to. They were actual fans.

And she died horribly. The details are horrific. Add that all together and you're not getting any royals named after her.....

In fact, it was never compulsory to join the Nazi party. Millions never did, including many Wehrmacht officers. It was mandatory for Civil Servants and a few other professions, but largely people joined because they wanted to.

Two of *Queen Mary's middle names were Claudine and Agnes so I'd say they're in the running. She also had Pauline but I doubt they'll consider that!

Strange that there's such a delay in announcing the name. I've never known such a long gap between birth and name announcement with a royal baby.

Not that we are 'owed' the information or anything, but they can't update the LoS without a name.

They can, she's just in the line of succession. She's just "Miss Brooksbank".

Sure, she's in the LoS but they can't put her on the official list without a name. She should be behind her brother at 15th but no mention of her on the royal website. Mind you, they're often a bit slow with these things!

Princess Eugenie took 11 days to announce the name of her first baby so we may be in for a long wait . . . .

There’s nothing strange about waiting to announce a name. A lot of parents don’t settle on a name straight away. It’s only on here that I hear people planning a set name from conception! With a lot of royals it’s can be a week, two weeks, Charles’ name wasn’t announced for almost a month!

Princess Cecilie (age 26) had two sons (age 6 and 4) who died on the plane along with her husband (age 31) and baby (might’ve been born on the plane.) They had a 1 year daughter who had stayed with relatives who died age 2 of meningitis.

I read about this after Prince Philip died.

I was referring to Eugenie.
My reply was to someone who seemed surprised this is Eugenie's third baby.

I think she’ll have a pretty but unusual name. I feel Victoria unlikely but could obviously be wrong!
