Eugenie gave birth to a daughter on Monday. She was born in Lisbon, Portugal.

The baby’s name has not been revealed yet.

Is this really news? Rich woman and rich man have baby.

I'd rather see a picture of a baby on the news than all the other doom and gloom that's usually on there.

It's a nice thing to do.
Local newspapers used to print photos of new arrivals from the local hospital (some still do).
I used to love reading Hatches, Matches and Dispatches in the paper.
Seeing the new names of new life.
It's just nice.

I think she'll go for a name like Adelaide or Caroline.

Think Caroline or Elizabeth ( or maybe even both ) for middle name.

I would put an odds on bet on Victoria being in the name -but I’m going to go for Cecile. Daughter in law of Ernest of Hesse, who was the son of Princess Alice of Great Britain (Queen Victoria daughter).
Cecile was Prince Philip’s favourite sister.
So I’m going for Cecile Victoria Margaret.

They may be going for a full set of vowels - they have A and E so maybe this one will be called Isla, Isabella, Iris. Isabella is the most royal!

I'm also going for Alice. It was the name of Prince Philip's mother, who was a grandaughter of another Princess Alice, daughter of Queen Victoria. The Yorks seem to like their Victorian name links; Beatrice was named after Princess Beatrice, daughter of Queen Victoria.

Both Princess Alices were impressive, Princess Alice of Greece in particular. She hid a Jewish family from the Nazis in the Holocaust. I've always thought it's a shame that none of Prince Philip's descendants are named after her.

Princess Anne's third name is Alice, but I agree that it's a lovely name and would be great as a first name.

I don't have children but I've always thought if I did I would name a daughter Alice and a son Alexander.

The pattern for the other names seems to be:

Hanoverian or Victorian styled boy names/honour name from her family/honour name from his family

Elizabeth has to be a middle name (I’ll be really surprised if it’s not)
His grandma’s FN and mother’s MN is Joanna so I feel like that’s going to be the other middle name

So I’m guessing Victoria Elizabeth Joanna or Alice Elizabeth Joanna
