Thanks once again for the new thread, @BigWillyLittleTodger, and to @StartUpRepair for the reports on the Masterchef idiocy. I wouldn't have been brave enough to watch it so appreciate the details

StartupRepair · 26/07/2026 11:31

They span it out for 90 minutes with many ads.

MrsLeonFarrell · 26/07/2026 11:44

As I said at the end of the last thread, everything they have achieved since leaving has been connected to who Harry's Dad is. Hence the constant references to titles and H.

I'm pretty sure Meghan could be modestly successful in her own right if she dropped the Royal baggage. By which I mean the title and resultant expectations around behaviour not the husband.

jeffgoldblum · 26/07/2026 11:44

Hello 👋 again Bigwilly! 😁

Thedom · 26/07/2026 11:47

Thanks @StartupRepair , sounds totally nauseating.

If you look at the Masterchef AU threads on Reddit, prior to any announcement about MM appearing, it has been declining in popularity for a long time, a dying series, so many avid viewers saying they have lost interest and don’t watch it anymore. Viewership is in the toilet,, I guess Meghan will have brought a few more views for this episode, but it’s interesting how she is only of value to declining brands.

StaySpicy · 26/07/2026 12:00

Sorry... hey husband face timed her while she was judging food and they left it in?

ETA: thanks for the new thread, @BigWillyLittleTodger !

TemuSussex · 26/07/2026 12:02

Thanks for taking one for the team Startup! It sounds nauseating, I hope you’re ok!

So much quicker to watch the clips on X!

Thanks for the commentary @StartupRepair
and the new thread @BigWillyLittleTodger

Yes that's exactly what happened. He waved to the contestants and had a ,'cute' conversation with Meghan.

I don't watch much Masterchef. Is this a common thing for guest judges with famous spouses?

It seems to be a very different beast to the UK version. Unless it was all in honour of her majesty I’m amazed by the hosts being dressed in essentially formal evening wear, chandeliers etc it all looks very high stakes ramped up super lux.

So different from our home grown version. Of course the hosts of yore were far from glamorous 😅 the arrival of Grace Dent in the new series has ramped it up a bit but toned down by Anna Haugh in her chef’s kit accessorised by her wardrobe of headbands 🤦‍♀️.

I much prefer our version.

StartupRepair · 26/07/2026 12:16

The female judges are always super dressed up which annoys me
The chandeliers etc today were all in honour of Meghan.

Aprilfountain · 26/07/2026 12:20

She can't even do one job by herself can she, she has to have Harold holding her hand; so much for strong feminist!🙄

KimWexlersPonyTail · 26/07/2026 12:21

Everything they do and have is down to the titles, how can they and others not see this? That face time call was cringe, like a couple of teenagers. Will they still be doing this shit into middle age and beyond.

bluegreygreen · 26/07/2026 12:24

Just catching up.

Thanks for the thread @BigWillyLittleTodger.

Thanks for the Masterchef summary @StartupRepair - at least it's a one-off, unlike @Atlusvue's marathon!
I used to watch clips of Masterchef Australia when I could find them, as it always came across as friendlier than the UK version.

The Facetime thing was obviously planned, as otherwise you wouldn't have a mobile on set. As @MrsLeonFarrell says, it just emphasises that her importance (such as it is) comes from Harry.

technically they are doing it in their middle age Kim , so the answer is unfortunately “yes” 😁

But OI! I’ll have none of this sneering about kitchen utensils. It is thanks to- and genuine thanks - to With Love Meghan that I realised I was using my lemon squeezer the wrong way round. I always put the half lemon in skin side down and cut side up which is WRONG. So doffs hat to Duchess Meg for correcting me and now I have much juicier lemon juice.

StaySpicy · 26/07/2026 12:32

I saw something on Facebook of Meghan using a jam jar holder the wrong way up.

Or should I say, the right way, since we've all clearly been doing it wrong all this time.

Yes, obviously planned as no professional actor would allow that to happen by accident. So either a)she requested they include it, b) H did, or c) the producers suggested it. My guess is a.

bluegreygreen · 26/07/2026 12:48

Have just seen a thread on TwiX where a commentator was watching.

Apparently she grew up with lots of fresh produce and ate 'farm to table fresh' - so not the 'latch key kid' story or the 'salad bar after Dad's work' story for Masterchef then.

My guess would be (c) @PullTheBricksDown - would she admit that the real pull for the audience was Harry, not her?
