Will they stay at Royal Lodge? I really hope it all works out for KC and to see his grandchildren would be lovely.

Harry is wearing a baby blue linen shirt and a black 'Invictus Australia' baseball cap. Meghan is wearing a darker blue and white striped shirt.

@abigailllyes there was a story that they requested to live at Windsor castle.

Princessfluffy · 05/07/2026 12:11

I imagine that Archie and Lily as grown ups will feel incredibly exploited by their parents. Very sad for them.

Well done Charles.

Well done Charles?

If I had cancer and two grandchildren whom I had barely seen, I would be making every single possible effort to welcome them to my home and smoothing their path to make it as easy as possible for them to see me. I would be ringing them up and talking to them myself and not relying on flunkies to do the talking on my behalf.

I do not believe anyone who tells me that the King of England couldn’t make this work if he really wanted to, RAVEC or no RAVEC. That is why there a representative from BP on the panel after all

If H&M are making excessive demands then I would facilitate them to begin with until our relationship was back on board and then I would negotiate. It’s so ridiculous getting stuck on these silly logistical details. The relationship is what is important.

How do you know he's not doing what he can to facilitate?
Anyway, Harry is his son, but he's also a man who has spent years trashing his family. For money.
The lies about him and Camilla must have been devastating. I don't know if I could get past that. Credit to Charles for trying.

Frankly, it doesn't matter what you would do because you're not a Head of State for whom security and confidentiality are of utmost importance. Harry and his wife have repeatedly shown they cannot be trusted, so obviously the King is going to be extremely cautious about any potential visit, even if he misses his son and would like to see his grandchildren. Harry has spent the last few weeks making a big media fuss of this proposed visit, which just reinforces the above.

Harry is 41 years old. Surely he has some responsibility in this matter?

There's a fine line between meeting estranged family members in private (no fanfare or microphones, no sneaky cameras or unauthorised press releases afterwards) and meeting them with The Firm's pomp and ceremony, top-notch security and outriders holding up the traffic. I would think (none of us knows) that KC3 would have agreed to the former but that is not what Harry has offered (as far as we know). KC3 is no fool and knows the damage caused to The Firm by AMW - he is justifiably cautious about letting HAM and family dictate the terms of any meeting. So, yes, well done Charles.

Maybe he’s not that bothered about meeting grandchildren he wouldn’t recognise if he walked past them in the street 🤷🏻‍♀️ (unless they were walking backwards of course) you only have to read on here the threads about grandparents who aren’t particularly interested in their grandchildren, It’s not unusual, and according to Rebecca English in her latest article she says contrary to popular belief KC isn’t bothered about building bridges with Harry either but will meet him if Harry wants to. There comes a point when estranged members of the family just become total strangers and blood ties become irrelevant, life goes on without them.

Honestly, it very much ‘sounds’ like their level of entitlement so highly suspect there’s truth in there! Very pleased charles didn’t agree, I suspect there’s truth would have been much unrest amongst us peasants who are paying for this UK grift tour!
no doubt Invictus will pay in Birmingham hence her toxicness may arrive in as expensive a style as they can steal out of the IVG coffers

Which is the reason that Invictus will not survive if they are having to prop up her arrogance. He needs to be removed from any connection and they certainly don't need to let her make a speech about how she has been treated far worse than those who have lost limbs etc..

I do agree with you though. Those children are complete strangers to Charles. He can't miss them because he has never known them. That's not to say he wouldn't like a relationship with them but I doubt it's something that troubles him that much. All speculation obviously.

PoppysAunt · 05/07/2026 13:20

It's gone too far. You can't treat people like shit then expect them to bend over backwards for you.
Especially when you know that your conversation would be misinterpreted, and given to the tabloids. For money

Calling him the King of England, slightly gauche of you. Are you from the US?

It seems as though, despite numerous, repeated explanations and illustrations (eg the late Queen’s letter about Harry’s security) you’ve missed the point that the monarch isn’t in charge of RAVEC.

A lot of H&M defenders, while decrying the rest of us as royalist lickspittles, seem to believe the monarch has absolute power in certain situations, which I find both strange and irritating.

However, as you say, RAVEC or no RAVEC, I’m sure the King could make it work, and the evidence suggests he’s tried, so the question seems to be around whether Harry wants to ‘make it work’, and the evidence rather suggests he doesn’t want to.

PoppysAunt · 05/07/2026 13:46

Why does Harry get a pass? King of England (sic) or not, KC's son is a 41 year old father of two. Harry has no job, and seemingly loads of time and money. He could have visited several times. Yet the elderly Head of State, dealing with cancer, a significant work load and a lot of responsibility, should go out of his way to pander to this selfish fool of a son? The very son who has lied about his father and the rest of his family in the most vile way?

No - that is not why there is a representative from BP on the panel. Might be a good idea to find out a bit about it before formulating your beliefs, otherwise you do risk looking a bit dim.

We saw how much influence the RF have over RAVEC decisions when the Queen wrote to them about Harry’s security. None. So not sure why you think Charles would have more say than his mother.

Of course! I think some people don't really understand.
Harry gets infantilised on here, as if he is about 11 years old. It's a way of absolving him of the worst of his behaviour, I suppose.
