The parable of the prodigal is not about what you think it is about. It is about a sinner returning to the Father (God) with a repentant spirit. ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you’ (Luke 15:18, 21). It makes more sense in the original Greek. The son's ‘coming to himself’ (his inward confession) and his admitting ‘I have sinned’ (his outward confession) when taken together serve as an illustration of what repentance actually means.

This is not the parable to raise in respect of Harry, not by a long chalk. He fails the prodigal test on every measure. And the Supreme Governor of the Church of England will be painfully aware of this and very hurt by it.

I think it's all to do with Harry's exceptionalism. He will give speeches about how people should act and behave, but it doesn't apply to him. See: not putting your children on social media.

The irony of having the parable of the prodigal son explained to me by someone who is part of a phalanx of posters devoted to regular criticising one couple with young dc is rather amusing frankly.

one has admitted his sins ( mistakes) , the other hasn’t!
one has apologised for his sins ( mistakes ) , the other hasn’t!
one has asked for forgiveness! , the other hasn’t.

I can tell you for one, it certainly won’t make the Sussexes happy, as they think they are more royal, than the current working royal family. Kate uses Mrs Wales apparently. Meghan announced herself, to an empty room as Duchess of Sussex. Absolutely hilarious.

Is it that Harry thinks everyone wants to see the children so much that all will be forgiven without the need for an apology. Would he weaponise his own kids like this though, use them so cynically to get the royal adjacency he and Meghan need? Anyway, I think he is misguided if this is the thinking - Charles shows no sign that he is desperate to meet them, or that he is prepared to allow Harry to continue his half arsed campaign of lies in the press.

It's all about using the children, particularly the daughter. Why else would they name her Lilibet Diana, and insist on Prince and Princess titles for both of them, when they left the RF?
Because it's all about using the children to shore up their unearned privilege and status.

I think Harry was dithering about BP
as he was waiting for a better offer - either from the RF or from friends. So when none materialised, he had to resort to reluctantly accepting BP, albeit too late.
I don’t like the way this is being reported, however. It has been over-simplified, “Harry accepted after the deadline,” which makes KC sound petty.
I saw a brief clip of Loose Women yesterday (yeah I know. Sorry) and they were bleating on about 50+ spare rooms and hundreds of staff at BP etc, totally missing the main points. Oh, and that irritating Coleen Nolan, and her “I feel sorry for Harry as he’s always been left out by the RF.”

I remember my DB (who tbf did have children very young but that’s no excuse) fell out with my parents because they wouldn’t let him bring his dogs when he came to stay with his new baby (2x Great Danes in a 2 bed bungalow 🤦‍♀️). His response was, right, well you’re not seeing DGS then. My parents said ok, well that’s sad but as you wish. They got on with spending time with their other DGC while he lost out on free childcare and family gatherings for a while, before realising that the pain in his foot was due to a bullet in there.

I think it's the lack of evidence which is annoying. Harry and Meghan have sold a victim narrative, and - with no evidence - people like Coleen Nolan take it at face value because they're unable to look at facts.

I think a lot of people don't know much about the situation. They read a headline and just accept it at face value. The victim narrative as well as Meghan's racist narrative just get taken as fact.

I think that's exactly what happened with regard to BP.

They do, and it's very damaging. Not least to H&M themselves. It would be good if they could just move on with their lives, but they're so wedded to royal status, it seems to be holding them back . They're stuck in the past.
