I’ve never understood why he thinks he is entitled to IPP status as he is not a head of state, a president or a prime minister, the foreign minister or an extremely high ranking diplomat. It seems only people in very high roles of public service get IPP status.
No celebrities, singers, famous people etc get it because of who they are.
People only get it for what they are and once they are not (like Kier, Rishi etc) the status is removed.
He might want it, he might think he deserves it but he will never get it. Countries cannot afford to give every Tom, Dick & Harry this level of protection -especially when they don’t even need it,
I mean, imagine if he was kidnapped -what could he tell them??

As a fellow ginger I agree. The last few weeks I have felt like a jellyfish dropped in the Sahara. Thousands of years genetically adapting to cope with the wind and horizontal rain from the Atlantic is not doing me any favours. Maybe the Cali weather is making him mercurial.

It's nothing to do with security, and everything to do with status.

My understanding ( could be wrong) is that William has IPP status when on official or diplomatic business overseas and 24/7 Met security at other times .

You're right, William has this when travelling and working internationally. Otherwise regular security.

Which makes it all the more mind boggling that H thinks he should be the same as William !

He was in the best position possible. He could have lived on royal property, pissed about, done minimal work and we’d probably still fall for the loveable cheeky chappie routine. Instead he couldn’t stand not getting the best/glamour jobs and thought he could go to America and do it and show them all how much more popular he was and rake money in. Not happened has it.

To be fair we’ve no idea whether the rest of the royals aren’t also cut from the same cloth and aren’t just as managed by the MIG. It doesn’t appear on the surface that they are but I doubt we will ever really know.

I think we know Anne and Edward are not, no Prince and Princess titles for their kids, Louise working in a garden center, photographed sitting on the ground of a train like any other ‘pleb’, no fulltime security for any of them.

Yes true as I said it doesn’t appear so. It seems to have gone very wrong with both Andrew and Harry. Exceptionally so with Andrew.

Anne and Edward do have security. The difference is they have a gilded life but are value for it. Sophie works hard too. They accept privilege in return for doing some work and Anne is 75 isn’t she? It was not the fault of Eugenie and Beatrice that their parents are crass. They didn’t choose their titles any more than Archie and Lilibet did. Of course that’s all about status in the USA for Harry as it was here for Andrew. H will try and monetize dc when the time is right. Beware the cautionary tale of the Beckhams though.
