Can’t see a new thread so thought I would start a new one to continue discussing the grifters

what does a "year to Ingriftus" actually involve? Is it looking for funding??

Edited

Yes - IG has lost a load of it's biggest sponsors

The last IG in Canada cost a whopping £60 million approx (in contrast the US Warrior Games costs around $5-10 million)

The Birmingham Games got a pledge of around £26 million from the previous Tory government thanks to Harry's former tutor and former Conservative Minister Rory Stewart lobbying hard to get the IG in the UK

I think they have secured private sponsorship of around £4 million - so there is a funding gap

BillyBites · 17/06/2026 23:27

WG at 5-10 mill, IG at 60?
Most of that is probably H&M's expenses.

elessar · 17/06/2026 23:31

I said on the last thread, but I would be astounded if the kids were launched in public from this visit. Why would Meghan have spent years concealing their faces on Instagram only to let the British press, of all things, take and publish photos of them for free?

unless she can either monetise it, or get some sort of big money shot - the kids with the King, I just can’t see there being any reveal. And even then I think she will still try and keep the faces hidden, it’s the only card she has left to play.

On the speculation about them coming back / getting half in half out, I still think it’s very unlikely and I really hope I’m not proved right. I think this will be more of their usual antics, merching, faux royal charity visits etc. I really doubt they’ll get more than a private meeting with the King.

KnickerlessParsons · 17/06/2026 23:45

But if they take the kids to Invictus there’ll be hundreds thousands of people there with mobile phones.

BillyBites · 17/06/2026 23:57

How on earth is it going to work, bringing the kids in any capacity beyond keeping them shut away from the public and just here for a meeting with the King? Which they will not be allowed to publicise?
How do they see this no-see strategy working out long-term? What will the eventual, inevitable Big Reveal be?
I think they've backed themselves into a corner.

Lunde · 18/06/2026 00:03

Part of me wonders if the "we're bringing the kids" is a cynical PR ploy in the hope of attracting more sponsors for IG for the added marketing opp.

I wonder at H&M - who claim to be so concerned about their safety - announcing their movements to the media and taking their kids to a controversial event where demonstrations are likely. Is this a new NYC car chase scenario using the kids?

Balmoral is usually early August. Unfortunately, Invictus date is just before the Wimbledon final weekend, and PW and Catherine usually attend, in recent years with one or both of George or Charlotte. How much do you want to bet that MM is angling for a women's final invite to rain on her SIL's parade?

She'd never dare - she'd be booed, and wouldn't have the bodyguards this time to clear the seats around her.

HeddaGarbled · 18/06/2026 00:23

She could put blankets over their heads like Michael Jackson.

Of course having a huge stand of empty seats isn't going to be a problem at Ingriftus 😉😉

MonteShitshow · 18/06/2026 01:54

If the royal family are obligated to meet with H&M for the sake of the institution, what would they even talk about after the initial remarks about weather? PH might be able to tweak AMW’s nipple but that just takes a few seconds. Don’t think his cousins will tolerate belly rubbing.

So someone will have to break the awkward silence and ask about

  1. work ‘what’s happening with that tedious lawsuit regarding Sentebale’ / ‘the candles with wicks looked pretty regal’ 2. family holidays ‘all the heartwarming Disneyland photos we saw that you’d posted online’ / ‘that awesome trip you guys took in Australia’ 3. home life ‘how amazing you managed to bake and promote scones in America’ 4. family ‘how’s lovely Doria, we heard that Thomas has returned to USA, hope he’s keeping his spirits up with the recent health scares’.

I’d love to be a fly on the wall there! 😂

Beesandhoney123 · 18/06/2026 02:56

Bringing the dc to hide behind - no one will want to see kids watching their parents booed. Keeping a low profile for the sake of the dc? Nah, not them! Bring it on they say. Look, we are victims!

Ignoring the facts of they created their own downfall.

Charles might meet h and the gc for tea, but cannot imagine anyone else being there or being invited. Certainly not with a camera! Unless they just want nice fanily pics for themselves, which seems unlikely.

Cant see Charles sticking it to everyone and handing over anything. Hope not, it makes a mockery of loyalty, and h &m dont have the same values as their family. They would see weakness and monetize it at the expense of others.

Mylovelygreendress · 18/06/2026 07:06

I suppose they have what they crave ; they are being talked about ! The will they/ won’t they regarding the DC is a new talking point .
Interesting that there is absolutely nothing coming from BP or KP.
As I have said before , M and the DC will not come over. This is all PR spin .

I am saddened but not surprised that the government has found the taxpayer funding for security for a couple who embarrass the UK within days of two MPs resigning because military spending is not sufficient to secure the security of the country and our military. Millionaire Harry and Sir Keir should be ashamed. It does make me think though that Harry can literally do anything he wants and will always be protected and he knows it too.

Is this taxpayer-funding different from the 'give us 28-days' notice and we'll assess the situation'? Has a change been officially announced?

LondonRidge · 18/06/2026 08:12

The RF know full well that the grifters are just using the visit as a chance to grift ahead of Ingriftus. If it weren’t going on they’d never come. They’re got themselves in a right mess as they have to come over for it and are now trying to be all superior about it.

They’ll make some massive issue over their securidee with JD Vance style motorcades. But what they really want protection from is the very real likelihood that people show them what they really think about their grifting. They’ll then publish all sorts of lies about infantile notes they (don’t) get from people on airplanes as if they’re representative of the adoring UK public that the nasty press doesn’t talk about.

No one wants them here and they know that. They’re pointless, they’re irrelevant, and they’re deeply distrusted. All their own making.

They’ve told us all how much they hate everything about the UK and everyone here, so I wish they’d do us all a favour and stay away. Suspect the entire RF feels the same.

PullTheBricksDown · 18/06/2026 08:12

I haven't seen any announcement.

Camilla is the one person most likely to sway Charles if he's tempted to give in on anything. I do hope she has a word. She's served her time now and is doing a good job as consort.

Unfortunately for her, it's not much of a 'card'. I'm pretty sure that even if they get to meet the King, it will be on a strictly 'no cameras' basis. The Queen managed that with Lili at the Jubilee, so I'm sure Charles will do the same. Otherwise noone is really interested in those kids and the 'hiding faces' thing is just silly and a bit weird.

I think so too.

Assuming the visit happens, I think the most they can hope for is a rather awkward private meeting with the King. Not a chance William or Kate would be there, nor Camilla.

As for 'half in half out' I genuinely don't understand why people think that's on the table at all. Zero indication Charles has any such intention.

Passingthrough123 · 18/06/2026 08:41

Having thought about this, I now agree with the PP who said that H and M have put this out because they know the RAVEC decision is coming down the line and it's not good news. So they can take the stance of 'Meghan and the kids were committed to coming to see their grandfather but thanks to the pesky UK Govt, they can't now.' That or the King had already said he didn't have time to see Harry when he was coming alone, so by pushing the narrative that she and the kids are coming too now, it's going to be much harder for the King to hold that line, otherwise he starts looking like a shitty grandparent rather than the reality: a shat-upon father.

I suspect this is the real story here. H&M are so manipulative.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 18/06/2026 09:02

MM will screw over the RF and dump PH back in the UK once she has secured enough royal adjacency glow to monetise ALONE in the US. She is always the one OW etc are after - the dirt on the RF from an American

It might have worked last time, @abigailll - except Harry left with her of course - but just what chance do you suppose there is of the family allowing her to hear or see anything she could sell this time?

It's not as if their MO is unknown now, and surely even Meghan will have worked out they'll be kept at a distance, so while she could make things up I really can't see that there'd be much point in coming at all if it's "adjacency" they want

Edited to add on the Ravec thing, it's now many months since the usual review was started, and though they never announce what's been decided I'd have thought it would be settled by now ...

Agree. The only thing that would give MM proper clout post-divorce right now is if she had a full and warm reconciliation with William and Kate beforehand, and that the two women become proper friends, so divorcee MM can dine out on the secrets they shared. Otherwise everyone would see her flouncing off as her plan from the very start and she'll have nothing to say about the Royals that she hasn't already complained about, except for trashing Harry himself and painting him as an abusive husband who never had her back, which I don't think she'd do because he is still the father of her kids and because no one would believe it for a second.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 18/06/2026 09:22

I don't imagine she'd ever be able to bamboozle Kate, @passingthrough123, but as they've shown so often both will fling dirt if they fail to get what they want, together or not

All of which is why the family would have to be mad to allow them near anything saleable now, and I wouldn't have thought even they're quite that stupid

noonames · 18/06/2026 09:30

I’m convinced this is mostly about reclaiming the headlines after weeks of positive royal coverage with the wedding, Trooping, the garter ceremony, Ascot and George going to Eton. Plus Wimbledon is coming up, so they will no doubt try to keep the ‘will they, won’t they’ narrative going, to overshadow the inevitable nice press for the Waleses.

What they hope the royals are thinking: wow, look how newsworthy these two are, we should beg them to accept half in half out immediately!

What the royals are more likely thinking: when are they here and how can I be sure to avoid them

What the royals are definitely not thinking: right now, in the midst of all this Andrew stuff, these two are exactly the people to represent us and the image we want to portray, with their enormous popularity, humility, integrity, selflessness, sense of duty and unwavering commitment to the UK and the family

Starryfifty · 18/06/2026 09:46

H&M do not realise how unpopular they are. It's the RF issue. Not theirs. Remember, he's still waiting on an apology. He assumes he and his family will be warmly welcomed by the British public who adore him 🙄
