Meghan and Harry the grift that keeps on grifting. Long may they continue. Better than any soap opera on the telly.

Just a short point. I'm quoting @Serenster 's post here which I think is apposite.

"“It's incredible, I think, you know, a) to be able to meet her through his lens, not just with his honour and respect for her as the monarch, but the love that he has for her as his grandmother, all of those layers have been so important for me so that when I met her I had such a deep understanding and of course incredible respect for being able to have that time with her

She was HLMTQ ffs. Yes she was Granny , and indeed Commander in Chief as I think H in Spare referred to her. So with your "deep understanding" was a quick curtsey to a HoS a cause for ridicule. Would it have killed you and your husband not to have been arguing on the phone about travelling up to Balmoral when she was clearly approaching her end (when you'd already put out a press release that you were both going ) Would it have perhaps been appropriate for you to take advice about being a member of the WRF from The Queen or those who she asked to be advisors for you - inter alia. I think, M, the RF needs you less than you need them. Once - that may not have been true - but you & H played a very good hand of cards very badly. (OK that's my opinion - & M won't care about my opinion - nor should she but I've said it.😂)

Interesting that M was pretty much a revolving door royal - a blink of an eye but still shilling it for all it's worth. I reckon what she actually knows about the RF ( as opposed to H ) you could write on the back of a postage stamp.

So inappropriate. It's all about the attention, though.

Especially when she was flashing everyone on that buggy! 🙄

Well here we go again! , never do ham ever let an opportunity to piggyback off other’s achievements go by ! 🙄

Just as we were laughing at their pomposity, up they pop with a vacuous 'statement' from the Office of the Dook and Dookess.

I get that Harry isn't a working royal, but I'm not sure it's appropriate for him to be issuing 'statements' about British government proposals. Then again, the 'statement' is so vapid and empty of substance that I doubt anyone will much care.

Andylion · 15/06/2026 19:16

@MyAutumnCrow It’s not like she even had to learn all the verses, just the first one.
It’s what, 7 short lines? She didn’t already know 7 short, (in)famous lines of a lyric sung in fecking Canada and around the world?

And she would likely have known the melody as My Country, Tis of Thee uses it.

how can they possibly be taken seriously with these ridiculous statements?

I think Meg has no real interest in learning, progressing, educating herself. As long as she's in the public eye and getting clicks, she's happy

‘RoyalsRUs’, rather than understanding the etiquette and expectations that her (former) position dictated.
i can’t believe how much of a mess these two have made since they went to California. When you think of the opportunities handed to them at the beginning it’s really gobsmacking that they are resorting to getting any attention they can.

She filmed in Toronto for years. It’s the capital of Ontario, a province steeped in British history and culture.

But sure, how was she supposed to know anything about anything? I mean, who even knew Canada was in the Commonwealth, right? And that Britain had a monarch and a royal family, right? And that other countries had, like, these anthem things, right, that people like sung along to while not chatting away having conversations, right? Like medieval times.

She didn’t even have to sing. Standing respectfully is acceptable, as many overseas nationals, diplomats and republicans (small r) and others do at memorial events like Remembrance Day.

Yes, 7 short lines. Two of which are the same as each other (and also the same as the song title).

29 words in total, for the whole song. 10 of those words were either "God," "save," or "Queen." (Whoever wrote it evidently had a very clear idea of what point they wanted to get across.) It may not be the most complex and creative national anthem ever, but it's not a giant intellectual stretch to memorise it.

It’s funny - she could have had an entirely different career and earned a decent living if she had taken a leaf out of Lady Colin Campbell’s book. 😉

“Lady Colin Campbell married British aristocrat Lord Colin Ivar Campbell, the younger son of the 11th Duke of Argyll, on March 23, 1974, just five days after meeting him. The marriage was intensely turbulent and collapsed rapidly, resulting in a separation after nine months and an acrimonious divorce after 14 months…
Despite the short-lived marriage, she has retained the courtesy title of Lady Colin Campbell throughout her decades-long career as a socialite, television personality, and royal biographer.”

I don't think they see it as making a mess. They both too dimwitted to see it. They are getting clicks/ publicity. They don't see beyond that

Starryfifty · 15/06/2026 19:30

Also, they don't appear to have many aspirations for the kids. Meg wants Lily to join her in her "business " and H wants Archie to lead Ingriftus🙄 Education isn't high on the agenda

But you said it yourself, @BasiliskStare - Harry will certainly know more and I'd be amazed if she hasn't pumped him for the lot while using the empathetic, doe-eyed wife schtick

"We welcome" the announcement.

As if there were a single person alive who cared what they think.

And much as they complain about the social media 'companies' they don't hesitate to post frequent photos of their own children on those same platforms.

Serenster · 15/06/2026 20:29

Did they say anything when Australia first introduced this legislation? Missed an opportunity for some grandiose word salad a trick there…

I'm sure H knows more - but even he I reckon wouldn't be the best source - what I meant was M knows more about H and his story of his life - I do agree with your point though, Puzzled.

That notice "from the Office of " re Starmer's proposal. (Thanks @jeffgoldblum for posting it ) Oh do give over you two.
It is insufferable pomposity & perhaps they should think on the place of WRF and commenting on politics. Perhaps if you want to sound off about things you are already criticised for - shall we just perhaps remove the titles a teensy bit so you can say what you like. Just for clarity my lovelies - that's all 😂

They do live in their own inflated world don't they ?

Justdancevance · 15/06/2026 20:46

i wonder will they be welcoming the Prince Harry ANL judgement 🤣

That was so rude. Maybe she thought curtseying was an anachronism, maybe she thought it was medieval, but to actually mock it in that way?

To be fair, that stupid scene in their fakeumentary opened a lot of previously forgiving eyes to her true nature. So in a way I am glad she did it. And we should never forget their disrespect, and the fact they filmed that when QEII was still alive, and they didn’t know she’d be dead when it aired. They didn’t care that it would hurt her.

In other words, when I, Meghan, plaster my kids all
over social media to sell my tat, it’s not my fault, it’s the fault of the tech companies for letting me do it and letting other people see it. I am always the victim.

Absolutely. It did reveal how rude and disrespectful Meghan is . To a woman who had welcomed her and given her so much, and opportunities most people could only dream of.

To be fair to her, after what that monstrous man did to her during their short marriage, I don’t blame her for using the title as a way of sticking two fingers up to the bastard.

Indeed, Fenella
I'm no defender of the RF as a whole, but I dislike ugly behaviour even more and there was simply no need for this

Then again I've always believed that Meghan deliberately courted criticism, the agenda being to claim "all these racists are being nasty to me, so I had no choice but to leave", and luckily for her she found someone stupid enough to fall for it

I think you have it in a nutshell.
This is very much evidenced in Valentine Low's book, Courtiers. There was absolutely nothing anyone could do to please her. The pair of them were looking for faults and problems.
