Meghan and Harry the grift that keeps on grifting. Long may they continue. Better than any soap opera on the telly.

The tiny shorts. It was a horrendous look for that particular occasion.

So inappropriate. It's all about the attention, though.

Why the hell was she leading the parade in the first place, never mind while inappropriately dressed?!
Is there any platform at all that she won’t treat as though it’s for the sole purpose of her preening herself on?

Leading the veterans march was another inappropriate attention grab!

Apparently not 🙄

Doesn't the other party usually walk around the back of the car to "their" door? I'm sure I've seen other royals doing this, unless there is no room.

The problem is she refused to take advice - she was offered Sophie as a mentor but was refused. She was assigned a Ghanaian equerry (colonel in the Blues & Royals - Harry's regiment) to assist with protocol - she was insulted and declined his services.

It's obvious from the video that Meghan would have known what to do if she had read the protocol. The Queen had a preference for what side of a car she sits on . People knew the protocol. Meghan fucked it up with her behaviour. She's always pushing people especially Harry around to where she wants them to be. This is the only time I have ever seen a dilemma with the Queen about her getting in a car. As ever Meghan sticking her beak in.

Also - there are loads of people around to help you - all you have to do is stand back quietly and watch what the Queen does and see if she has a preference for where she wants you to be.

Sometimes she (late Queen) broke ‘protocol’ when she fancied it - eg getting into the back of the car with Michelle Obama and shooing Barak into the front passenger seat.

This is why I get irritated when people talk about what a hard time Meghan had, with all the difficult protocols, etc.

Even in any normal family, most people will watch and make sure the 90 year old grandmother is seated comfortably, before seating themselves.

It's not difficult.

The not knowing the national anthem one was beyond a joke. Ms Degree in International Relations or whatever it was can't use google to find out the basic culture of another country. Meanwhile, your average kid who watches sport has a good working knowledge of the anthems of many countries, let alone one of the most famous and recognisable ones in world culture.

She moved to the UK and joined the RF.
How disrespectful not to even learn the National Anthem.

It’s not like she even had to learn all the verses, just the first one.

It’s what, 7 short lines? She didn’t already know 7 short, (in)famous lines of a lyric sung in fecking Canada and around the world?

She filmed in Toronto for years. It’s the capital of Ontario, a province steeped in British history and culture.

But sure, how was she supposed to know anything about anything? I mean, who even knew Canada was in the Commonwealth, right? And that Britain had a monarch and a royal family, right? And that other countries had, like, these anthem things, right, that people like sung along to while not chatting away having conversations, right? Like medieval times.

She didn’t even have to sing. Standing respectfully is acceptable, as many overseas nationals, diplomats and republicans (small r) and others do at memorial events like Remembrance Day.

thenightsky · 15/06/2026 17:46

Maybe that's why she didn't get far as an actor. Inability to learn lines.

On the respect thing, and the medieval times, you have reminded me that in her engagement interview Meghan gushed about her and Harry’s mutual respect for the Queen:

“It's incredible, I think, you know, a) to be able to meet her through his lens, not just with his honour and respect for her as the monarch, but the love that he has for her as his grandmother, all of those layers have been so important for me so that when I met her I had such a deep understanding and of course incredible respect for being able to have that time with her

Of course fast forward a few years and the Meghan and Harry documentary and Meghan now talks about how surprised she was to learn that the family curtsied to the monarch in private, saying the the required level of respect was like anexperience at the theme Medieval Times. She then of course performed an exaggerated parody of a curtsey with a dramatic "Pleasure to meet you, Your

Incredible respect? Are you sure?

MyAutumnCrow · 15/06/2026 17:56

Honestly, @Serenster, you should write a book. Your recall is brilliant.

That was so rude. Maybe she thought curtseying was an anachronism, maybe she thought it was medieval, but to actually mock it in that way?

Good points. In fact, all over the globe, people manage to stand and show respect for the National Anthem of other nations. This is where she had chosen to live, and represent the monarchy, the UK and the Commonwealth.
"Whip smart" or utterly clueless?

I think Meg has no real interest in learning, progressing, educating herself. As long as she's in the public eye and getting clicks, she's happy

Or take direction. I'd say that's the crux of the matter - believing that she, and she alone, knew better and didn't need anyone's help or advice, and certainly didn't want to listen to instructions. I'd be amazed if there aren't stories about her during her acting days being a problem on set.
