Meghan and Harry the grift that keeps on grifting. Long may they continue. Better than any soap opera on the telly.

It's RadarOnline, which isn't usually a reliable source.

All it says is that it was an emotional meeting.

So Harry lost his temper?

Starlia · 13/06/2026 14:37

toiletpaperthief · 13/06/2026 12:31

This is a very wealthy (and in love) good looking young couple living their best life with their two kids in sunny Santa Barbara (California), this 44 year old woman (who comes from quite a modest background) has gracefully capitalized her fame (and the hatred) by creating a lifestyle company making 22 million dollars per year. She's had the balls to give her diamond studded middle finger to a misoginistic and racist centuries old British institution and sue the Murdoch tabloids in between face exfoliations.

Little Englands seems to be obsessed with her while yelling "who does she think she is?!" "why did she not follow the rules and became an unhappy tabloid fodder princess Diana tragic figure like she was meant to be?"

"Crab mentality" (google it) comes to mind when I read these MN threads. Some introspection on why are we so obsessed and full of hatred for Megan and Harry as a nation would be a good start.

Hahaha this is hilarious. I hope you’re being satirical rather than delusional.

garlicandsapphires · 13/06/2026 14:49

So crab mentality (hadn’t heard of it) is basically tall poppy syndrome. @toiletpaperthief is saying those who criticise H&M are simply jealous and wish to drag them down.

Now, if I examine my heart to reflect on why I find them so intriguing, I find that it’s not because I feel jealous, but rather that I feel smug, and that comparing myself to them makes me feel better about my life and my choices in life etc. I’m not particularly proud of that as I think comparison in either direction is rarely healthy. I read about them and comment because they’ve made such a spectacular balls up of everything they were given.
I also think the online commentary goes too far and gets quite rabid at times. They are a couple of fools but they are human and I do feel for them and hope they can turn things around, perhaps find some grace and humility. I love a good redemption story and it’s never too late.

Imagine anyone being jealous of Harry and Meghan? I find them entertaining, but I also feel a bit sorry for them. Particularly Meghan, being married to that ludicrous man child.

I feel sorry for him being married to an avaricious social climber who is only out for herself.

Well I was wondering how the harkles would mark trooping the colour. Turns out giving us a word for word account of Harry's 2025 25 min meeting with Charles.

This is certainly the kind of thing a 'rich young couple' living their 'best life' would spend their time paying to be put in the tabloids.

Oh for heaven's sake, who could the "source" of all the "emotional outpouring" possibly be?

I absolutely agree with you M is living her best life - rich , mixing with people she could not otherwise have dreamt of doing , given huge deals with streaming companies , Spotify and the like. H has the woman of his dreams and they have two children - really what's not to be thankful for.

Where I disagree with you is that these threads are full of hatred for M. (point to it and get it deleted if you do) . I think more it's a bit "she aint worf it " and some laughter and entertainment at their expense - from things they have said / done themselves. There is dislike at what is widely considered to be hipocracy in M's using of the children. There are those ( me included ) who are fed up with H's dragonslayer approach to the press , and his conviction he is entitled to more tax payer funded security than he is.

I don't think these threads are an echo chamber , although many , me included gravitate because there are criticisms of their more egregious behaviour. And for the shits and giggles.

So to your points

  1. She and H accused the RF of racism and then pretty quickly backtracked on that ( whilst picking up an award where they were praised for combating institutional racism in the RF)
  2. misogynistic - yes the mills of the RF grind exceeding slow etc , but we do now have primogeniture not dependent on sex. See (passim) so many posts where she was thought of as a brilliant addition to the RF, in the press , everywhere . The few MSM or radio transgressions were pretty quickly dealt with IIRC.
  3. As for the British public wanting her to be a tragic Diana figure - show me that. H is the one worried most worried about his wife being a tragic Diana figure as far as I can see. No-one else has made the connection , certainly I can't recall it on these threads. He's the one with the Diana complex IMHO - no-one else would even think to compare to M to D.
  4. As a nation - I can speak for myself here - I was teed off to see during their NF docuseries , snippets of videos showing the ENF / ENL or whoever - anyway - racist marches. I thought the Commonwealth being Empire 2 was derisory in its academic authenticity. It felt like they were accusing the whole of the UK as racist. Not saying there isn't any , but I think the footage was biased to agree with their narrative.

Just to finish - I have googled Crab mentality. Frankly if letting a middle class actress climb out of a bucket to live with H so someone else does not have to , I'd be clapping my claws for her. I seriously don't think most people here would swap with M for a moment and don't consider her a peer to be knocked back. You might not believe me but I think there is little jealousy of M's life on here. Many have often said - they wish she could be successful so they don't have to keep playing the RF card.

Ha ha - tea has gone cold , must stop typing

@NormalAuntFanny harry is a little shit.

@toiletpaperthief young? They are in their 40’s. That is younger than me, but it’s not young. They are both immature I grant you.

I sincerely hope they are in love, otherwise what was all the hurt, to both their families for? And usually, when you fall out with everyone, the problem is generally you.

This is just a dissection of the meeting PH blabbed about last Sept - when he was told not to. He burned his bridges for a second time. The most recent RF comment is that due to PH enduring ‘bitterness’ and lack of trust by RF of PH remaining confidential - there will be no further meetings until he can demonstrate that this is resolved and trust has grown. Balls in PH court but he isn’t playing by the rules.

Yes and no.

If you'd told her 15 years ago that she would be globally famous, living in one of the most exclusive towns in SoCal, holding a royal (courtesy) title and so on, that would indeed have been beyond her wildest dreams.

However, the past 5 years have been a string of failures for her. And it's human nature to compare ourselves against those we consider our peers, not the public at large. Which for Meghan is the Montecito set. And in that context, she's the poor relation. For someone as status conscious as her, that will hurt.

All this is another reason why their story is so fascinating. There's something almost epic about it, almost like a modern version of Aesop's Fables. The cable TV actress who thought she could take on the crown and win. And now she's selling matches on the internet.

Hoping this was parody, but if not I honestly can't believe that a PP wrote that Megan's "gracefully capitalized her fame" ... is all this really anyone's idea of graceful behaviour?? Confused

On a tangent, and about the endless "no faces" on the kids' photos ... what happens when they're at school events where other parents are bound to have cameras? I can't imagine they could force everyone else to leave their phones behind, and while many of them simply won't care I'm surprised nothing's ever appeared

I imagine they’re quite small fry at the school gates. None of their neighbours would have much interest, it’s not like the kids’ll be at the local comp.

Absolutely - it seems like the moral of this fable could be "be careful what you wish for."

It's certainly an anti-Cinderella story. You marry the prince and then it all goes downhill...

What makes the story so compelling, as I've said before, is that they really could have had it all.

If they didn't want the restrictions and scrutiny of being working royals, they could still have maintained the prestige and allure of royal association while having the freedom to pursue commercial activities in California. Just play nice with the family, turn up at Balmoral in the summer and Sandringham for Christmas, speak highly of Charles, Camilla, William and Kate in interviews. They'd have been invited to the State Dinner in Washington and generally kept a status which can't be equalled anywhere else. It really wouldn't have taken much.

But now they're C list influencers, and Harry doesn't even get an invite to his cousin's wedding. He's the son of an actual King, but his children don't know him. It didn't have to be this way.

Do we know that both children are at school? They could be being homeschooled - it wouldn’t surprise me.

Starryfifty · 13/06/2026 17:34

I honestly don't believe they would have thrived if they stayed in the RF. They are not grafters. They would never have accepted being second to Will and C and they have absolutely nothing to offer

I agree. They really aren't the sort of people who could cope with the demands of a public role, or put their responsibility above their personal desires and whims.

Not 'stay' as working royals.

But they could have been a more high profile version of the Tindalls or Phillips, who get lucrative sponsorships and magazine covers due to their royal connections. However, they aren't working royals so don't receive any public funding and thus are free to do pretty much whatever they want.

They could still have lived in California and pursued commercial interests, just paying the occasional visit to Britain and playing nice with the family. It would have been so easy, and the benefits would have been massive. Not just commercially, but in terms of keeping a good relationship with family and friends, and having their children grow up close to their British family too. But they threw it all away for nothing.
