Hello I thought I'd start a thread where we can build up the excitement for tomorrow 😂

I'm enjoying the English Country/ family vibe I'm getting from the setting and wedding prep.

Fox Gloves in the flowers 💕

I'm looking forward to seeing Harriet's dress, she's a very attractive women, but the flowers are always of special interst to me.

Who do we think will be bridesmaids? Peters P's and Harriet's daughters presumably? Zara's kids?

I read that Philip and Zara have a half sister who will be attending, I didn't kow about her!

I also read that Peters first wedding to Autumn was sold to Hello and criticised for this. Very tacky. It looks like he's learned and is not cashing in this time, so hopefully we'll get a good look at evryone.

My aunt married a divorcee in church in 1985 in Derbyshire. Full white wedding, but she was only 25 at the time. She became a divorcée herself when she chucked him out for cheating which ironically his first wife had already done.

Church of England? It was the rule that you could only get a church blessing

I know it has long been possible to marry in churches like the Methodist church.

Because the dress code for men is a suit and many of the men there wore tails. You don't know if they were average- some could be Savile Row.

I meant they look average

I think they are the women they can recognise and name.

Her father died in 2023

Her daughter was a bridesmaid

I think I saw a picture of her mother

IIRC her brother escorted her up the aisle

Edited

Her mother died about 25 years ago.

I'm looking forward to my invitation to one of these society weddings, I would have been terrified in the past, but not any longer. Any old creased up mish mash of fabrics, colour, shoes, bag and hat/fascinator/headband will fit the bill very nicely!

Not that I'd ever get an invite anyway ha ha.

PinkMagpie · Today 10:47

That is a good point about the men. I tend to skip over the morning suits because I assume they all look the same. But actually on a closer look they do all do different things with the waistcoat, ties etc.

I quite liked the guy who has been identified as Rupert Finch (black and cornflower blue Prada-esque colour combination) and Beatrice’s husband who went for Forest green and cream

Yes, this must be it. When you think how much some of the clothes probably cost I am surprised how cheap some of the fabrics look - like Beatrice and Mia's dresses, I am surprised how creased and ill-fitting some of the other looks are, too.

Imusthavesaiditwrong · Today 10:49

I wonder they look better in real life. Maybe our roving on the spot reporter @PlentifulPeoniesPlease can tell us if she managed to see?

Sideofnoreturn · Today 10:49

I think Anne looked fine - normal rules of dress just don’t apply to her.

Bride was too bridal for someone of her age and second wedding. Didn’t like the neckline of the dress, but she’s a good looking woman and looked happy which is what matters! Bridesmaids were lovely.

I like Beatrice’s dress! Actually thought it was one of her better outfits. The rest were all just a bit boring imo, but wedding-appropriate.

I can’t believe they’ve included Beatrice in that. I thought her dress was hideous.

Also Sophie looked frumpy. Sarah Chatto looked like she’d made no effort, and the young woman was surely wearing a cagoule with her wrinkled skirt. Zara looked nice apart from the nasty headband.

Rupert Finch is in the 5th photo down and Bea’s husband in the 7th photo

I had to check, but yes it was.

HoldMyWine · Today 10:53

I liked Natasha Isaac’s blue dress but as she owns Beulah she had the pick of the shop!

PinkMagpie · Today 10:53

Rupert Finch has also gone for cornflower blue socks to match his waistcoat which is a nice touch.

Also I googled him and he’s Kate’s ex!

corblimeygvnr · Today 10:55

I think there were a few crumpled dresses there maybe due to the weather.

Ohdearnotthisagain · Today 10:56

I liked the bridesmaids dresses but would have let them wear a very small heel. Perhaps however they were nervous about walking in heels in front of an audience. I thought all of their hair looked a bit untidy.

Wasn’t a fan of the brides dress but she’s beaming so who cares!

I quite like Beatrice’s dress but clearly I’m in the minority.

I am curious - do you know them personally? I can't see this anywhere.

troothfairy · Today 10:58

Were Louise and James there? Peter has six (royal) cousins but it looks like only three attended.

I really do not like these daft padded headbands that seem to be fashionable, Zara’s dress was lovely but it looks like a pin cushion on her head!

Who's rocking the trews?
😊

Very bright waistcoat and tie too, especially in conjunction with the trousers!

MontyDonsBlueSuit · Today 11:00

I’m watching/reading all this with interest as I’m MOB later this year and still haven’t got anything to wear 😳

I don’t love any of the outfits including the bride but prefer them to the satin nightie/long evening dress style that seems to be becoming a thing for wedding guests.

Who was the woman in grey blue that looked very like Carole Middleton’s outfit at Kate and William’s wedding? Isabella whoever she is looks gorgeous but as pointed out, with a figure and height like that anything looks good. I don’t like Sophie’s raffia bag, it looks like something you’d take on holiday.

OVienna · Today 11:02

@FelicityShagsWell all the media reporting is saying her father passed away, and describing Mary as her mother. So I'm curious:

The bride, who is understood to have split from her former husband, a fitness instructor, when Georgina was just two years old, was also supported by her mother and three siblings. Her father sadly died in 2023, just a year before she started dating Peter after the pair crossed paths at their daughters' hockey match. (The girls all play on the same local team).

No she didn't.
Her father died.
Her mother is alive.

Information online refers to her 'late father'.

PinkMagpie · Today 11:03

A lot of these wedding guests shown in the background of the photos have been what Trinny and Susannah used to call “a victim of the regional boutique”
