Have we heard anything further about the acting offers which were - allegedly- flowing in ?

Last was a very bizarre DM article by Eric Roberts , Julia's brother who said Hollywood needs Meg back as she's a brilliant talent or such nonsense. Whatever is in it for him is anyone's guess

BasiliskStare · 01/06/2026 14:49

@IcedPurple This I agree with -" Harry had absolutely no idea what an amazing deal he had as 'spare'. No idea at all.
As for Meghan, in a sense she's got what she always dreamed of. But comparison is the thief of joy and being the "poor" neighbour must rankle a tad."

I suspect H doesn't mind about the house being a wee bit run down. I suspect M , when they bought it , thought "I've arrived" . I don't know. But it does look awfully dull to me living half way up a hill in a neighbourhood where most people will have gates to the house , so unless you really join in with the community , what local friends do you have ( and I don't count Oprah in those ) . A lot of those people will have second homes and won't be there all the time. Now for all I know H is a stalwart of the polo club ( do they have one ) and they're both on the PTA & one of them secretary for the local residents' association ( yes I'm joking there ) and they have found a community , not sure I'd bet on it.

I'm genuinely not chippy because I honestly don't envy that kind of house - though the vegetable / herb / flower beds look lovely. Ask me if I'd like the equivalent of $14m to spend on a house of my choosing - well , I wouldn't say no 😊But I wouldn't swap. . However , my taste / opinion isn't everyone's - so if that's what they want - good luck to them. I do think they've got themselves into the foothills of Montecito wealth / lifestyle. But isn't the saying , buy the worst house in the best area you can afford. After being able to rub shoulders with the truly rich , though , I do wonder if this is why M seems so very fixated on more and more money.

The Temu thing certainly gives credence to the claims I’ve seen on here that Meghan is ND. Misunderstanding nuance / metaphor / allusion etc is a very autistic thing to do.
NB not saying that ND status has anything at all to do with her awful personality or behaviour btw.

I agree.

Its not the first time this confusion with language and communication has been very obvious.

I don't think it's about money. It's publicity, fame and relevance. For both of them.

He said: “I was trapped in the system like the rest of my family are.

Cry me a river. We are trapped by some extent due to our birth but agree with above he had so many benefits that he just can not see.

Happiness isn't having what you want, it's wanting what you've got.

Some people don't understand this.

DancingFerret · 01/06/2026 14:35

Wasn't she considering offers to be a Bond Girl at some point? (cough)

Ha, so she has apparently chosen to sell packet pancake mix and matches online when she could have been a Bond girl, a Dior brand ambassador or run for president, all mentioned with a straight face at one point or another.

I think you may very well be right, although I think the money does factor in somewhere . However I have none of those (apart from relevance to my family) & I would positively eschew publicity and fame. I also had a granny , very much of her generation , whose view was , proper people are never in the newspapers apart from birth marriage and death. And often not even then 😂

ETA @RecoIIectionsMayVary " Happiness isn't having what you want, it's wanting what you've got." Which I think is a variation on what I often say contentment is much underrated. 👏to Mary. I could not agree with you more

The matches thing cracks me up! If you're going to spend that much money on a candle, having a packet of matches thrown in is hardly worth splashing out about £200on the 4 candle set! And don't most people use candle lighters now? Not messy, smelly matches? Hardly a luxe image.

Speaking of images, does the below inspire you to shell out big money? The candles seem to be tunnelling and the matches look so cheap. Why would you buy 'As Ever' candles when for a few quid more you could have Jo Malone?

If I had £200 to spend on candles, I'd get 3 of the big Diptyque ones, the 300g ones. Absolute no-brainer!

BasiliskStare · 01/06/2026 17:49

Those candles with the vaguely embossed palm trees on those ceramic pots do remind me of something from Sainsbury's Homebase. I like candles , many don't , but those aren't even trying to look upmarket IMHO. For a significant birthday my brother and SIL bought me this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144395141170 It's a while ago but the glass container was lovely & it was a very good size and there are others. Less expensive than Diptych and As Ever but better than M's IMHO. Although no Duchesses involved , so who knows

That was my first thought about the candles - the irregularity of the burning. Can't think of any other way to describe this. The big White Company candles are guilty of this and you are left with a big outer shell / really pisses me off !

Thanks for the new thread @FenellaFeldman 🙏🏻

They keep silent on a lot of sexual assaults don’t they? Tyler Perry, Africa Parks, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, most curious……

Well, he's no stranger to touching a non-consenting person's body himself. Or slapping a non-consenting person's face, hard, in front of others who are paid to protect him.

noonames · 01/06/2026 18:47

I’m surprised there hasn’t been a response yet to William’s interview the other day saying how great his wife is. I can’t believe Meghan will let that pass without comment, especially given the haste with which she embarked on the Scone Bandwagon 🤔

You can buy special 'lids' on Amazon to prevent the tunnelling. Or you can wrap tin foil around the edges of the jar. The idea is that heat is kept inside the jar and the outer wax melts more quickly, giving a more even burn. It's a bit of a faff and hasn't really worked for me however.

The tunnelling happens even with good quality candles though larger ones should have two or even three wicks to prevent it. What I don't get is why you'd feature this on your ads though! You're selling candles for about £50 a piece, so surely you want to present a more luxe image, not 4 boring looking candles on a plain grey background! And adding in the matches with the weird Middle Eastern airline type logo as if they were some amazing gift! If you really push the boat out and go for the full 4 candle set you'll get a box of matches with a retail value of 45p! How about that?

BasiliskStare · 01/06/2026 19:06

@MyAutumnCrow - Yes yes re the Australian Bondi Beach volunteer. How does that fit into MH in the workplace H ? Difference in status? Ring a bell ?

Further re African Parks - I think the difference here is that H isn't just a patron he will have proper responsibilities as a director - I've shamelessly googled this (see below ) . However , whilst I think that H is happy to be a patron (as I understand it no legal / financial responsibility) he is now a member of the African Parks board of directors / trustees .Have we heard a peep from him? I don't know and others will know better , but if I ran a charity I wouldn't trust H as far as I could throw him to make proper legal and financial decisions. He's been used to being the "face" of things , because of who he is , not because of his skills and I'm not sure he will let go of that. Because " life of service" . Get over it Harry , you no longer represent the RF so you are somewhat on your own. Look at Sentebale , IG and African Parks and don't just show up and do good , get your head down and do some properly hard work to do some good.

One opinion 😊

M's going to have to take up tennis.

[Serena] Williams has been granted a wildcard at Queen's and will partner with Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko, who idolised the American as a child.

Maybe she'll expect an invitation to WImbledon if Serena plays there?

She wouldn't want to sit amongst the plebs, her days of having 20 seats cleared are over. Lots of Wimbledon fans are way above M's financial bracket. She certainly wouldn't get Catherine's perks.

I wonder if Serena W might be doing this to elevate the profile of a teenage player as a favour / as a nice thing to do?

I can imagine that Queen's found that wildcared pretty quickly! The publicity will be huge.

Yeah, someone will be seething ...

Did you see this:

A video of Meghan Markle slating $100 candles has resurfaced online as the Duchess continues to sell her own As Ever candles. The video, taken when Meghan had her own lifestyle blog, The Tig, shows the Duchess, who was not married into the Royal Family at the time, speaking into a microphone.

She can be heard criticising the idea of selling candles for a high price. She said in the interview: “100 dollar candles on my site… that’s so obnoxious.” The video has resurfaced and caught people's attention online, especially after Meghan sold her own candles under her As Ever lifestyle brand over the last few months.
