Who's defending Andrew? He's a complete c*nt and I hope he ends up in prison.

That doesn't remove the fact that Handrew & Mergie are merching their own Royal titles (&;their children) for money and I find them venal and tawdry. I have no respect for them.

Why are you defending the racist white Prince and his wife who has been credibly accused of bullying dozens of staff across 2 continents and used sick children in hospital to merch clothes?

This x 💯

This is an interesting article in the Guardian.

An explanation of why Meghan receives so much criticism.

Guardian

What nonsense. A scapegoat?
She's completely and entirely brought this on herself with her behaviour.
Their wedding was amazing and they had everything, including the goodwill of the nation.
Squandered.
The victim narrative keeps getting pursued though. Tedious.

Don't agree at all. I think they're a lovely couple who have escaped an awful family environment including taking their children out of harm's way of a paedophile.

Has he spoken out again his uncle? He’s been very outspoken about this father, step-mother, brother and SIL but I haven’t seen where he’s spoken out about Andrew or his disgusting behaviour. I could be wrong, I don’t really follow H&M but I’d think the press would make a big deal of it if they had.

Not once have either of them ever criticised Andrew.
Kate? So evil she wouldn't share a lipgloss. William? So evil he had the temerity to counsel his brother about rushing into a relationship.
Andrew? Nothing.

HelenaWilson · 16/04/2026 22:49

.....out of harm's way of a paedophile.

Andrew is a lot of things, but I hadn't read that he was attracted to pre-pubescent children.

And there's the Guardian using the word 'hate'. Criticism is not hate.

BasiliskStare · 16/04/2026 22:51

@OctopusFriend @Atlusvue posted an article from the Telegraph on her PR disasters thread. Here's a snippet
"The Telegraph understands that the commercialisation of the Duchess’s wardrobe has “caused considerable concern” behind palace gates.
A royal source said: “Everybody just rolls their eyes now as they know the routine – push the envelope, get criticised, reverse tack and say you made a donation. By making money while doing ‘philanthropic’ work, they very much appear to be having their cake and eating it”.
Another insider added: “Grifting is one thing, but carrying out a faux royal visit to a children’s hospital while flogging your outfits online appears to have crossed a line.”

I really think that hospital visit has brought them a lot of criticism from all over the place. As well of the utter crassness of advertising the clothes on a "philanthropic" visit , I am not convinced of their claim the hospital wanted all those children and parents crammed into the foyer - not without a bit of hinting about timings and meeting as many people at once from H&M's people. I think it made a great shot of so many people there for them. Lucky that's how the hospital wanted it or made a better shot so engineered by H&M's people. Maybe they just bring out the cynic in me 😊

StartupRepair · 16/04/2026 22:51

They both highlighted going to lunch with the Yorks as one of Meghan's first introductions to the family.

It's actually a very poor article in many ways, not least because the author clearly doesn't understand what a "scapegoat" actually means.
To analyse why Meghan has lost the initial support and popularity would require the author to dig a little deeper than an Oprah "interview".

No he hasn't. The most he has said is a poor me moan that he's been given a harder time than AMW (this was around the time of Spare). And that Meghan (long time friend of Eugenie, even pre Harry), thought AMW was the Queen's butler. Andrew Lownie's book had him punching AMW for saying something derogatory about Meghan. Harry the hero! Save that Harry vehemently denied this ever happened.

Excellent points though. Thanks.
They're not fooling people now. Apart from some rather die hard royalists and Guardian writers.

Yes. Both have clearly stated their friendship with the York family. Meghan said that she knew Eugenie before she met Harry. She was at the York's house when Fergie taught her to curtsey.
So the Yorks and the Sussexes had a friendship.

HelenaWilson · 16/04/2026 22:58

'die hard royalists' surely support the King and Queen and William and Catherine, not these two.

No, I would say that die hard royalists don't question people with a royal title, don't discern good from bad.
Regular Royalists support the idea of the hereditary monarchy, but probably have no time for lazy, dishonest and greedy people like the Sussexes. The diehards still bow and curtsey, just because H&M are royal. No discernment
We've seen it on here.

Not really an explanation, more of a vaguely researched and one sided opinion piece. A scapegoat?

Handrew & Mergie's "banal offerings"? - they accused pretty much the whole of the UK population of racism, among other blatant falsehoods.

Again, the comparison of 1 year of negative stories about Mergie vs Catherine - but no mention of several other years where Catherine received far more negative stories.

Meh, just the Guardian up it's own arse again IMO.

I screenshotted the conference and does seem like a lot of half empty tables

This is very funny, from the super fan, desperate to see them - it'll be part of her history to tell the grandkids about 😂 to the chap waiting around for the chance to heckle. Not to mention the fact that it's a very small crowd of fans/hecklers.

We've only ever criticised her (and Harry's) behaviour. It's somewhat delusional to think otherwise.

Tiger has been a stalwart defender of the Sussexes - promoting Spare as ‘the truth’, claiming Kate had an addiction, very anti Camilla.. I wouldn’t hold your collective breath on the big reveal of the published books! 😂
