Yes anymore Poor Us speeches or have they packed up and left? I do hope their accommodation was satisfactory after those scruffy 'units' in South Africa Grin.

And don’t forget that they didn’t have the whole Government House to themselves in 2018 , only < gasp> a wing .

StrawberryWasp · 16/04/2026 20:02

They seem to think it's still 2020 where being a victim and talking about your 'mental health' was high status and all the rage When in fact most people were sick of this level of self absorption by 2022.

To still be talking about how much they have struggled in 2026 when they are two of the most privileged people in the world is really mind blowing, It's like her south Africa 'but what abut me' but 7 years later. It's truly incredible how little they have learned. I mean truly incredible. You would have thought anyone would by now be thinking: we need to change tack, be more positive and stop whinging. But no, they still really believe they are poor victims and the world wants to hear about it.

Harry it seems cannot engage in normal life events without 'therapy' and 'support'. He feels that not connecting with his his unborn child required therapy.

No Harry most men are naturally disconnected because they're not pregnant. They don't ruminate on this, they get on with life, supporting their wives, presuming it'll work out because it seems to for other men.
They don't get therapy.

Harry needs therapy to tell him kids pick up on adults emotions. Most people don't need therapy to work this out Harry. They just realise all by themselves when they come home in a foul mood it upsets the kids.

It's not therapy he's getting its' basic functional life skills advice.

He thinks all this therapy talk makes him sound compassionate and wise when in fact it makes him sound he's auditioning for Dumb and Dumber 2.

I agree all that and the most irritating part for me is …. Imparting this information to us like it’s new and something only he knows about!!! 🙄

Not even courtiers can make a purse out of a sow’s ear.

Well to give them credit they did manage to position a petulant, prone to lash out and rather dim Harold as a sunshiny cheeky chappy despite his many gross excesses for years.

Under sung heroes of spin IMO.

Indeed the spin for Harry’s cheeky chappy , jolly child loving man of integrity is without doubt the biggest whitewashing in history! , we believed for years , only took half that for him to reveal his real self!

No you’re right! Bugs the shit out of me. Here’s a pic of Prince Edward who dropped out of Marine Training after 12 months.

Isn’t that Mr Mountbatten Windsor?

I was gobsmacked when the BBC reported that Megan said she was the most trolled person online, for a whole decade! She seriously needs to get a grip. Whinging about how hard done by they are, when they are so,privileged, is tone deaf, at best.

Ten years ago Meghan Markle was yet to meet Mr Mischief. Ten years ago nobody knew who she was.

Thank you. I thought I'd been whisked back to the Mexit days in a time machine.

Nobody cares how badly you were 'trolled' Meghan. Get over yourself. Stop Googling yourself and carrying about what some loser on Reddit thinks about you. Anyway didn't you claim that all this online gossip was just 'noise' and you only read The Economist? Stop revelling in your invented victimhood. Nobody wants to hear about it.

I don't think he realises he's currently in the sunlit hills.

I don’t think they will last there, that’s for certain. The Australians will take a lot less time to get sick of them.

But I do think that there are those for whom having a member of the British Royal Family living there would be enormously appealing, the Australian Tourism Board for one.

I’m watching with interest. (I was right about Canada, saw it coming a mile off).

In economics we talk about asymmetric information i.e. one side has information and the other side does not. Pre-megxit, while the rest of the royals and some in the UK knew that H was a hot mess, the American view was of the "happy cheeky chappy" Palace PR version of H. So H could sell himself in the USA to Netflix, Spotify and Penguin executives. You don't get to be an executive in these cutthroat tier-one companies without having some serious business judgement, so it actually a real credit to the effectiveness of Palace PR on a global stage.

Six years in, the information is symmetric. Aside from die-hard fans and paid trolls...it is evident H is a hot mess...he told us so in various interviews, and in his book, and in his lawsuits.

So, a move to Australia (or anywhere else) cannot reset the narrative because Australians (and indeed the world) can't unlearn frozen todgers and Elizabeth Arden creams from Spare, "We need to be able to say we had nothing to do with it" about giving info for Omid's Finding Freedom book, Mr. Mischief and G String "movie snuggles" from the latest lawsuit, etc. Moreover, the Sentebale lawsuit is outstanding with whatever gems come out of that discovery process. Finally, Invictus red flags could cover China's Communist Party plenary sessions for the next five years and more are still gathering daily!

IMHO, H&M will have the occasional royal cosplay grifters getaway, merch, speak at increasingly less prestigious events, appeal to Grandpa King Pa who is a billionaire and ignore Grandpa Thomas Markle who is not a billionaire. It will be a slow inevitable downward slide to oblivion.

CathyorClaire · 16/04/2026 20:32

Definitely Ed.

The very best we can say about Mr MW is that he did actually earn his medals.

ETA apart from the birthday bumps up the ranks ofc.

It's hard to fathom anyone paying any money at all for a talk on MH by a man who apparently thinks it's a good thing that his 6 year old son clings to him and cries when he comes home stressed.

Why are they still banging on about this "poor me" stuff? What happened to the year of "joy"? Or was that last year?

What happened to Meghan saying she never looked at SM critiques of herself? So what difference does it make if she's the most talked about online if she doesn't care about it? Why is she teaching young people to dwell on victim narratives and not empowerment ones?

They've just seen kids with cancer and kids with eating disorders, veterans and indigenous people who get treated like second class citizens in their own country. And all they can do is talk about their own victimhood. Shades of South Africa, when even babies with AIDS didn't make them feel grateful for their massive lot in life.

All of that is true, and yet there are still people - rich and influential people - willing to give them time and money. Ted Sarandos is a prime example. They can only grift because people keep letting them.

Also I think that these conversations aren’t representative of how the average person feels. There are still crowds of people turning up to welcome them, baffling I know but true.

Like you I think the trajectory is downward, but it’s going to take longer than people expect.

Where were there 'crowds of people turning up to welcome them'? There may have been people at the handpicked, stage managed 'events' they attended, but it's not like they were being mobbed by adoring crowds, fans hanging around outside their hotel or anything like that. The 'girls' weekend' with Meghan seems to be nowhere near full. Weren't tickets for Harry's event being sold at a reduced rate last week?

And Ted Sarandos didn't renew the Sussexes' NF deal, so I'm not sure how he is indulging them.

Are there crowds of people turning up to see them though? The clips of them are all very tight, it makes think of the "crowds" at the Invictus Games that actually were a few dozen people. There are two large Australian subreddits (about 750k members and 350k members respectively) and there's virtually nothing about H and M. I think most Australians are really just not interested.

Actually the only thread I can see currently consists of about a dozen people calling them grifters

I've thought for a while that their complaints about press bias are true- the bias is in their favour though. They've both told so many easily provable, blatant lies that never get reported on in the MSM.

Yes, who does that? Who centres everything on themselves and their own perceived victimhood? It's extraordinary.
