All of that is true, and yet there are still people - rich and influential people - willing to give them time and money. Ted Sarandos is a prime example. They can only grift because people keep letting them.

Also I think that these conversations aren’t representative of how the average person feels. There are still crowds of people turning up to welcome them, baffling I know but true.

Like you I think the trajectory is downward, but it’s going to take longer than people expect.

I think we are in agreement.

H&M will be used by people. Ted is looking out for his job as CEO. The industry bible came out leaking that Ted overrode other executives to give H&M a massive contract. Ted is on the ropes and I will give him less than twelve months to announcing he is moving on to bigger and better things!

But Ted is a CEO...not an owner. Once Ted is out at Netflix, who will want the Sussexes based on their track record? Certainly Bezos (Amazon owner) has given them the swerve. Which media owners will invest in failure?

For example, if I give you $1 I want you to turn it into $2. I get my dollar back plus 50 cents as my ROI (return on investment). And you get 25 cents in advance and the balance of 25 cents once the project meets success milestones.

Problem is H&M walked away with the guaranteed 25 cents and left the investor in the hole. The investor started with $1 and ended up with 50 cents. And that is why H&M are toast. It is nothing to do with the royal family (or William in particular), the courtiers, the rota, royalists on social media or even the corgis!

All the cosplay in the world and the people gawking at the car crash duo won't magically give H&M the ability to successfully produce commercially viable projects. And that is all ANY investor cares about.

IMHO, that is why the downward trajectory is locked it. It is all about the money.

Are there crowds of people turning up to see them though? The clips of them are all very tight, it makes think of the "crowds" at the Invictus Games that actually were a few dozen people. There are two large Australian subreddits (about 750k members and 350k members respectively) and there's virtually nothing about H and M. I think most Australians are really just not interested.

Actually the only thread I can see currently consists of about a dozen people calling them grifters

I saw a few snapshots of reporters waiting outside their events, and there was no one there hoping to see them, photos have emerged of Harry’s half price talking event and the audience was quite sparse.

No, you said there are several factual, provable books about Harry being critical of Andrew. I'm unaware of these books so I'm asking you to name them so I can find for myself if Harry actually criticised AMW.

I have not. and never would, defend Andrew and his crimes, so please don't concoct offensive lies about me.

You need to apologise. Not a single poster has defended Andrew. You are the one asserting that H&M have called out Andrew/ left the RF because of Andrew. So where is your proof?

According to the Guardian, Harry will be attending the last post ceremony for Anzac Day on Saturday. I'm honestly disgusted, and I don't think BP are letting this slide, I think they are complicit.

Anzac Day isn't until the 25th April, so thankfully Harry will miss the Anzac Day March and there will not even be any "cute" pictures of him playing Two Up.

I just looked and The War Memorial in Canberra plays the Last Post ceremony daily at 4.30. The Memorial in Hyde Park Sydney reads the Ode of Remembance and plays the Last Post daily at 11.00am and tourists are welcome. So presumably Harry will deign to pop into one of those.

Anzac Day is now taken so seriously that if he tries to elbow his way into anything officially to do with it, he hopefully will receive a sound thrashing, and be ridden out of town on a rail. I know he wouldn't get one, but I like the image.

Just off topic, but 50/60 years ago it looked like a possibility that remembering Anzac Day was was going to completely disappear but then it started to go from strength to strength. Actually prompts to look into the reason for this growth in importance, so at least, thanks for that, Harry.

I was just quoting from the Guardian:

The pair will visit the Royal Children’s hospital in Melbourne, Meghan will visit a women’s homeless service and Harry will visit the Australian War Memorial, go to an Invictus Australia event and attend the last post ceremony on Anzac Day.

Has it been confirmed H&M will return home together?

Less pomp, more cosplay: Prince Harry and Meghan’s ‘faux royal’ Australian tour

Promotional events with hefty price tags are on the agenda, alongside visits to a children’s hospital, women’s homeless service and the war memorial

I think you are conflating a rule brought in in 1884 designed to stop people who are not serving and have never served from wearing uniform

Nope, not that.

I've just gone up to the loft and dug up my very own old copy of :Notes for Officers retiring from....," and at that time it was quite clear in the text that if you didn't retain your rank on retirement (so you left below the rank of Lieutenant Commander/Major/Squadron Leader) you were not to wear uniform.

There were exceptions for the senior officers but not for the rank and file or junior officers...I accept that may have changed.

I suspect I've bored for Britain on this so unless someone comes up with the current text from KRs I'll leave it...

Off topic but was that what people were saying about Captain Tom?

Tezza1 · 16/04/2026 22:00

@Indianrollerbird I can't read the whole article, but The Guardian must think that Harry is going to lurk around for an extra five days, until 25th April. Harry must really be keen to get into that two-up game, as it's only legal to play (outside casinos, etc) on Anzac Day

StartupRepair · 16/04/2026 22:02

Like the rest of the world, Australia is worried about war, cost of living and fuel supplies. I don't think there is much serious interest in H and M and the media here have been quick to point out the commercial aspects of this tour.

Are these books in the room with us now?

Who's defending Andrew? He's a complete c*nt and I hope he ends up in prison.

That doesn't remove the fact that Handrew & Mergie are merching their own Royal titles (&;their children) for money and I find them venal and tawdry. I have no respect for them.

Why are you defending the racist white Prince and his wife who has been credibly accused of bullying dozens of staff across 2 continents and used sick children in hospital to merch clothes?

Are you planning to give the names of the books? What motivation would you have for pretending that Harry has criticised Andrew if he hasn't? Do you actually care about what AMW has done, or is all you're interested in the visuals for H and M? It's a bit warped, if so

I know I've said before , I really liked the navy dress and I think it suited her. Apart from that I agree with you. Ironically , whilst I can see Only One as a valid vehicle for celebrities to earn money from their popularity , a hospital visit is just distasteful. So the best outfit worn when she really shouldn't have been advertising her outfit for cash. I've read between 10 - 25 % commission but how much she gets to keep and how much goes to Only Ones - no idea. I am not familiar with the model because for some reason I cannot fathom , no-one has ever suggested I merch my outfits 😃

I agree. Making money off the clothing you wear to “support” charitable causes is one of the more disgusting things they’ve done.

Isn't it? I genuinely think a line has been crossed.
I question the mortality of that.
