As dedicated to her duty as her mother was

TeenToTwenties · 07/03/2026 18:30

She's a great example of a not-in-direct-line royal understanding her position, carving out a role, and doing it well.

A lovely moment. She’s one of the team! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I admire Anne. Of all of them now, she's the best 🌷

Miranda65 · 07/03/2026 22:23

She is magnificent.

It's a pity male primogeniture wasn't abolished when she was a child making her higher in the line of succession.
I've admired since I was a teenager and she visited my school and stayed for lunch! Eating our school lunches wasn't for the faint hearted.

Awwww, she's lovely isn't she?! Fierce and feisty with a heart of gold, a cheeky glint in her eyes, and a cracking sense of humour!

marvellous picture! 😁

I heard it said recently that many that many consider she is the best Queen we never had and I agree.
I think she would have been excellent and suspect Andrew would have got short shrift much faster.
Plus the whole tragedy with Diana would have been avoided and Harry’s dramatics too.
Charles would have been happier with a quieter life focusing on his gardening and charities.

Is she not a completely standard horsy woman with rather bad manners? I don’t think I get the adulation. She cuts more ribbons than the rest of them and rewears clothes.

Reread your last sentence. She cuts more ribbons than the rest of them and rewears clothes.

What that means in reality is she has more organisations she is involved with and takes an interest in and visits, and she isn't showy and wasteful. She is hardworking.

Additionally she had the sense to not have titles for her children so they could grow up more 'normal' given how far away from succession they would be.

Nevertriedcaviar · 08/03/2026 06:45

Anne is great, just like her mother was.

pilates · 08/03/2026 06:49

Yes she is like her mother and I have always thought she would make a great Queen.

I’ve always liked her down to earth attitude. Not giving her children titles was a winner IMO.

I love that the staff almost fainted when PA just threw her head back and laughed!

That child has such a story to tell.

Loveandlive · 08/03/2026 07:08

She is a really decent soul. A pity there was not 4 of her in that generation. She does have her mother’s aloofness/standoffness but then the ones that don’t have that Diana, Fergie, Harry etc haven’t done well as royals. Great photo too.

CurlewKate · 08/03/2026 07:21

Yep. Rugby fan gets paid for watching rugby…..

MarchionessVonSausage · 08/03/2026 07:22

Oops, should have said HRH The Princess Royal.

I admire her for having such good relations with her ex-partners. And she has quite a few.

DeafLeppard · 08/03/2026 07:23

I don’t understand how the same family produced Anne, Andrew and Charles! Anne is magnificent.

Randomchat · 08/03/2026 07:25

They've got their arms out as if they're about to have a great big hug. But I'm guessing that didnt happen? He's probably quite sweaty at this point so I don't blame her

ACynicalDad · 08/03/2026 07:26

Like her mother but able to bring up great kids.
