Has anyone seen any photos from Embassy reception? Interesting if none are released as it would be usual to release an official photo but perhaps the Embassy have been ordered not to give them any official backing.

There was also blind yesterday that Meghan has offended her hosts by being wasteful with water and openly eating and drinking during during the day and not even being discreet.

Not sure if it is true but it has the ring of truth there was a gossip site article yesterday that Meghan has caused a bit of offence for openly eating and drinking in front of her hosts (rather than doing it discreetly) and she demands a new bottle of water every time she takes a sip.

The irony for H&M here is that if Sunshine Sachs have arranged this visit as a PR opportunity for them then it’s backfired. Rather than crisis manage and repair reputational damage for their client, they have had a hand in creating a crises and adding further reputational damage (if that’s possible!). Probably increased the likelihood of them losing their titles as well.

It seems to be true, there is a snippet of a video of her reaching to her assistant who passes her a bottle of water, she seems to take a sip and hands it back to her assistant.

I don’t think , they ever think of anything but themselves, their wants and their desires and of course massaging their own egos.

They don't ever think and they don't ever listen - what could possibly go wrong with that!!

Are non Muslims meant to refrain from eating and drinking during Ramadan?

Yes, in public absolutely.

In a Muslim country? I'm sure nobody's going to arrest you for it (or even say anything), but I think it's crass and rude to do it right in front of the people who are fasting.

In fact this is a reason why I wouldn't choose to go to a Muslim country during Ramadan without a good reason. I like my food!

A friend of mine works in the UAE as a teacher in an international school. During Ramadan the non-Muslim pupils and teachers can still have lunch, but have to eat in a special room with all the windows covered, because it would be offensive otherwise.

I'm guessing it varies from country to country. But if I was "on display" in a publicity tour like that, then I definitely wouldn't be eating or drinking in public.

And yet, until quite recently Andrew was a full royal, and even now remains in the line of succession, and enjoys financial and other support from The Firm.

As far as it’s known financial support for Andrew has fallen to Charles, from his private wealth. He has to really - it’s not as if Andrew can go out and earn a living and he needs the safety of living on a Royal estate. They really can’t just throw him to the wolves so he’s going to be dependent on them for life. Luckily there’s always a free house going spare and his living expenses will be somewhat reduced these days. I wonder what William will do when the time comes and he inherits that piece of baggage. You do see threads on here of posters who feel obliged to help/support/house a delinquent brother or other family member from time to time. It’s not an easy situation even if there is plenty of cash available.

Surely it's just considerate and good manners that you wouldn't eat and drink in front of people who were fasting for religious reasons? It's not as if they couldn't have grabbed a quick drink or snack in private if they really felt the need.

I do hold Charles and the palace majorly responsible for this shit show, it’s been clear for years that they are trying to form their own royal court, all these fake “royal” tours using their titles, interfering in politics, the ridiculous requests for armed security at tax payers expense, I could go on, yet the Palace do absolutely nothing and before anyone says but what can they do? It’s really not difficult, remove them from the royal website, release a statement that any visits to foreign countries are not requested or endorsed by the King or the British Government and remove their titles, or at the very least refuse the right to use them in any political or commercial capacity, they can be Harry and Meghan Sussex at best. Honestly I’m losing patience with the Palace, a lot of this is on them.

Certain places allow restaurants in certain places to be open but behind curtains or screens. Even in Dubai you don't go about swigging from a bottle. In Saudi we would go have a swig from a bottle in the toilet.

It's not even just in front of random people. It's in front of the people who are actually hosting them/showing them around. I mean, that really is crass.

I suspect it’s the walls closing in - the ANL legal challenge looks to be going down the pan which will cost PH millions - additionally any of his soft approach to slide back into some sort of BRF glow is looking grim as the BRF might not be here in the too distant future and the clung on to titles and BRF adjacency are a poisoned chalice - so no money coming in and too much money going out
