Eugenie has cut contact with Andrew

It’s being reported that Eugenie has cut all contact with her father, she refused to visit him at Xmas and isn’t speaking to him at all. There was a discussion on Good Morning Britain about whether this was to protect her own image or whether it’s about her own feelings around what Andrew has done and his refusal to apologise.

Beatrice is still in contact with him apparently, so will this cause an issue between them as sisters?

Is Eugenie just doing this to protect her own image or has the penny dropped that Andrew is a disgusting man and she now believes him to be guilty?

Suspected rape of a minor in France

Case still being investigated. A 16 year old has claimed she was raped by him in Paris and again at his resort in St Bart’s in 1998 - so is the same age as Pippa now.

It can’t take 8 years to investigate rape.

It’s taking so long because David Matthew’s was a ‘person of authority’ over the 16 year old victim when the alleged rapes took place which is a much more serious crime in France than straightforward rape.

Update from French prosecutors last month. Accused of grooming a 15 year old and raping her at 16.

Ah ok it’s clear now what’s gone on - first Covid delayed the whole thing as it’s a cross border case, and crucially, the case was originally outside the statue of limitations but then the law was changed in 2018 to 30 rather than 20 years so that will have had to have gone through.

In normal circs it wouldn’t take this long even if someone was in a position of authority.

Has this been discussed on these threads to date - that SF in an email to JE that Eugenie (then 19) was just back from a shagging weekend - just as JE was released from his CSA charge:

I've seen it discussed with the unsurprising consensus being that Fergie is crass, creepy and generally gross to be speaking of her own daughter in such terms to anyone let alone a convicted sex offender however much of a supreme friend he might have been.

Both the SIL's chose to get married (and have subsequently enjoyed strutting along in fake gongs, royal pap walks and property perks ) while controversy swirled around their FIL.

If it's come back to bite their arses there's no-one else to blame.

The husbands may be regretting their decision to marry money and influence but ditching the wretched sisters now that their prestige is waning would be a bad look when there are kids involved. They’ll probably stick around and just have discreet affairs.
